## What is BinVentory?

BinVentory is an app for maintaining a wine cellar. It does not help with acquiring wines, learning about wines, evaluating wines or matching wines with food. There is no account to set up, website to log into or subscription fees to pay. No data is collected from the user; it is completely a stand-alone app. The app is aimed at a user who has enough bottles stored in some sort of 'cellar' (or perhaps two or more) that he/she cannot easily see at a glance what the options are for a Tuesday night dinner or a lavish weekend party. The focus is on cataloging these options in user-defined categories, such as wine regions, sources and storage locations, to facilitate making choices. This serves, of course, also as a reminder when certain categories are getting low and need replenishment.

### 2.1 — 2026-07-16

For users with large wine collections this version should run considerably faster and more smoothly. Additionally there have been added two convenience features: the ability to directly relocate a small number of wines from one location to another and additional control of the wine list display from the display page itself (rather than the settings page).

### 2.0 — 2026-04-13

In addition to many new features and improvements to the user interface, this version has improved data handling.

### 1.2 — 2025-06-05

The main improvement of this version is provision for iCloud syncing of data among all devices attached to an Apple ID. Otherwise there are many small bug fixes and improvements in data management.
