## Newest reviews (8 of 27)

### 1/5 — Immediate dead end

*2015-06-12, version 2.4*

From guessing to reinstalling, cannot get passed the first screen asking for user name and password. Major design error.

### 1/5 — Don't waste your time

*2015-04-27, version 2.4*

Couldn't create log in. Don't waste your time downloading it.

### 1/5 — Couldn't even login!

*2014-06-15, version 2.1*

Couldn't get past the first screen asking for user/password. No option to set up a new account. Something kept flicking up & immediately disappearing at the top of the screen.

### 1/5 — Login

*2014-04-25, version 2.1*

Fix login

### 1/5 — Useless App

*2014-04-01, version 2.1*

Wasted my money on this as the app is useless. Detection of heart rate is very intermittent at best, and when it does pick up a signal, heart rate fluctuates between 110bpm to 33bpm in seconds. All whilst I'm laying on the floor. It also doesn't hold signal long enough to actually take and record an HRV score. I have tried wetting the sensor, and this is a polar chest strap that is used day in day out with my watch, and is still working that way (so it isn't battery). Will be requesting my refund very shortly.

### 1/5 — No longer works after update without upgrade to 200$ web account.

*2013-06-12, version 2.0*

Talk about pulling a fast one. I've been using this for a long time, after an unwitting upgrade today I am locked out without a 200$ upgrade to tie in to their web service and to pay for all new hardware. I'll amend this review when they decide to let people who paid for the app in the past actually use it. This is highway robbery.

### 1/5 — Really costs $197

*2013-05-22, version 2.0*

Prior to 2.0 update anyone could use app with their own hardware. The app was standalone. now If you want to continue using the app you have to go to sellers website and pay $197. Extortion! Now I have a dead app! Don't buy!!!

### 1/5 — App is useless as standalone purchase!

*2013-05-20, version 2.0*

Unfortunately the developers only referred to additional "hardware" that may be necessary to use this app. The app is unusable as standalone unless you go to the website and spend $197 for an online account. This should be CLEARLY stated in the description. Well, I guess you got me there. $10 spent for this app = #FAIL !

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App crashes, no updates in 2 years

*2019-01-07, version 2.61*

App has not been maintained and cannot be opened in iOS 12.

### 1/5 — App Does Not Work Well

*2017-08-18, version 2.61*

Early on, this app worked alright and I could get some readings. I have all of my software and the app both completely updated and the app will not work at all- completely ruins whatever practical applicability the software had in the 1st place.

Avoid this product and save yourself the time. I will be returning ASAP.

### 1/5 — Very disappointed

*2016-11-20*

It does not work. I have the finger sensor which does not give a reading even with plug or the adaptor. It takes about 2 mins to detect, then gives an error count in less than 30 secs. Took the sensor off and app started detecting my pulse, and then attempting hrv but again gives an error count in under 30 secs. Wonder if I have been duped.

### 1/5 — Not good.

*2016-07-14, version 2.5*

Bought it online for $289.00 (way overpriced) the heartrate strap is cheap, the book is a generic description of periodisation which no insight into hrv, recovery methods etc... There are tons of free apps that do a much better job. As far as reading go, my hrv on bioforce contradicted when tested against 3-4 other hrv apps, this one scores at the lowest. Sorry, but it needs an overhaul.

### 1/5 — Busted

*2016-04-13, version 2.5*

Can't get past login screen, even without an account. Worthless.

### 1/5 — Broken

*2016-02-28, version 2.5*

No way to get past login screen at start. Totally useless.

### 1/5 — How can it be this bad?

*2016-01-25, version 2.5*

Upon opening the app, you're forced to a login page, which you cannot get past without entering the correct log-in credentials. I haven't yet signed-up. There is no option to sign-up. I'm sure you can see the ridiculous bug that renders this app worthless.

### 1/5 — Won't launch

*2016-01-03, version 2.5*

POS won't launch

### 1/5 — Simply doesn't work

*2015-10-19, version 2.4*

After installing, app works once and then crashes immediately upon each ensuing launch. Completely useless.

### 1/5 — Not even a demo?

*2015-06-15, version 2.4*

$200 upfront to access the app with no idea on how well it works.

## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Bad update

*2015-11-03, version 2.5*

This update was supposed to fix ios9 issues, but instead completely broke the app for me.

### 5/5 — Confidence

*2013-07-20, version 2.1*

Helps me have more confidence in my training plan and that my rest is setting me up for further gains down the road or peaking for competition.

### 5/5 — Co-owner, J&M Strength and Conditioning

*2013-06-09, version 2.0*

I love my BioForce HRV. I started using it back in September and its been an integral part of helping me manage my overall stress levels. It's also helped keep me accountable in terms of taking care of myself (getting more sleep, taking more time to relax, etc). Not to mention I've hit several personal records in the gym since I started using it. It helps me get more results with less effort. I love it!

### 5/5 — Excellent product!

*2012-06-03, version 1.1*

Great product. HRV is one of the best measurements I've found over the years for monitoring my training load and recovery status. I've tested 4 different HRV systems and have found BioForce to be really accurate and super easy to use ...highly recommend.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2012-05-05, version 1.1*

Bioforce HRV let's you know how recovered you are from previous workouts. Very accurate!

### 4/5 — Great App for Athletes

*2016-04-24, version 2.5*

HRV training is the real deal. I love this app for monitoring my training!

For those of you giving a bad rating. It does clearly state in the app information that it's not a stand alone app and does require a license. This is why you can't get past the login. There is a book, video, HR monitor, and program you have to purchase prior to use.

### 4/5 — Great App, latest build is failing on boot

*2013-05-15, version 2.0*

The app is great, does what it does (which is help determine training load/recovery). The latest build (released today, May 15th), is failing to boot. We'll see if that gets fixed.

### 4/5 — Good start, could use one major upgrade

*2013-04-28, version 1.1*

As a professor, researcher, and sports performance coach, I was really excited to finally get my hands on this! Monitoring HRV and state of readiness is the wave of the future for creating specialized and individualized training programs. PROS: so simple to use. Plug it in, strap on the HR monitor, lay and relax, and let the app work. Also love how it tracks your HR and HRV over time, so you can see your trends over time. Lastly, the accompanying book is great and detailed. Although I think it could be too much for someone without an exercise science background. And from what I've read and heard, the results are valid and reliable. CONS: this would be an AWESOME app is you could create multiple profiles and see their trends over time. Right now, it's only set up for one person per device. So for someone like me that works with teams and classes, I technically would need 30+ iPads/iPhones so that EACH athlete/student could see their trends over time. Not cost-effective. If only this app could let you create several profiles on ONE device so I can test Athlete 1, save their scores, switch profiles to Athlete 2's, save scores, etc. This is the biggest negative of this app and hopefully can be added with a future update. If Joel can figure out how we can track a group of athletes/students on ONE device, that would make this a PERFECT app for HRV monitoring.

### 3/5 — App Still Works

*2013-07-14, version 2.0*

You can still get the app to work just turn off your wi fi in your settings before you start the app and it will still check your hrv and give you a score. A little bit of a pain but worth it. Then make sure you don't update the app again! The ithlete app still works great!
Was gutless of bioforce to do this though.
