## What is Biologer?

Biologer is an open source software for iOS devices that aims to collect distribution data on biological species. It can be used by biologists and other nature enthusiasts to organize their own data from the field (geographic location, date, photographs, etc.) or to help scientists gather more quality data and use them to protect species and natural habitats.

Collected data are sent to one of our dedicated server, currently running for Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia. This data is being checked and approved by the editors for certain taxonomic group (such as butterflies, reptiles or plants) and could be used by the community in accordance license selected by the user. Once approved, the data becomes visible in the maps, graphs and online galleries available in our data portals: www.biologer.rs (Serbia), www.biologer.ba (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and www.biologer.hr (Croatia).

This project was created as interactive platform with free content, intended for collecting knowledge about biological diversity of Eastern Europe. The platform is based on using and developing Biologer software and voluntary work of the Biologer community.
