## What is BIOPRESSADRIA APP?

BIOPRESSADRIA: Best Eco-Mooring sites in Adriatic

BIOPRESSADRIA helps anyone sailing the Adriatic choose moorings and anchorages that respect marine habitats, especially Posidonia oceanica meadows. It is the app of the BIOPRESSADRIA project and uses the same data as the project WebGIS.

What you can do:
• Browse the map: the pilot sites and the project's map layers, designed for outdoor use on your device.
• Get proximity alerts: during a navigation session that you start, the app warns you with visual and sound signals and notifications when you approach or enter an ecologically sensitive area or a no-anchoring zone. The areas are stored on your device, so alerts also work without a connection.
• Find anchoring zones: an advisor suggests nearby zones that best fit your position, the restrictions in force and the seabed. It is informational support: official ordinances and the skipper's judgement always prevail.
• Learn about the pilot sites: Baia di Panzano; Area Marina Protetta Porto Cesareo; Kornati National Park; Pakleni Islands; Badija and the islands around Korčula. For each one you find the rules in brief and the official references. Content is published gradually, site by site.
• Report: send a report with category, description, photos and position (for example pollution, wildlife sighting, illegal anchoring, hazard). The e-mail address is optional. You can prepare a report without a connection: it is sent when the connection returns. After review by the moderation team, reports may appear on the map and are visible to all users.
• Read project news.
• Use the app in Italian, English or Croatian.

Location and background alerts
• What it is for: to show you on the map and to compare your position with sensitive areas, so that you are warned before entering one. It is not used for advertising.
• When: continuous checking starts only when you start a navigation session and stops when you end it. During the session the app may use your location while the screen is off or the app is in the background, so that alerts are not missed: the system shows the location indicator. The comparison with sensitive areas takes place on your device and your route is neither recorded nor sent. Your location leaves the device only when you submit a report or when you open the anchoring advisor with an active connection.
• How to turn it off: end the navigation session or turn off location for BIOPRESSADRIA in the device Settings (Privacy & Security > Location Services). If you deny background use, alerts will work only while the app is open.

Maps and content
The background map needs a connection (areas already viewed stay in memory). Sensitive areas and alerts remain available offline.

No registration needed. The app contains no ads.

The project
Co-funded by the European Union. BIOPRESSADRIA project (ID ITHR0200370), Interreg VI A Italy-Croatia 2021-2027 Cross-Border Cooperation Programme. Lead partner: Municipality of Monfalcone. App developed by Offline Agency.
