### 3/5 — Good not Great

*2022-08-14, version 3.9.1*

The bio strap app did what it claimed to do in tracking sleep and HR parameters though it could sometimes be balky to sync up. Battery was okay but not as good as some of the newer devices. It seemed to go for about 36 hours on a charge. The device fits okay though not completely unobtrusive during sleep. Activity tracking is minimal without the shoe pod, and the shoe pod is a pain to place and keep in place. I ended up losing mine on a run, and it didn’t fit certain shoes like cycling shoes with straps instead of laces. Whether it is more or less accurate than other apps is likely depending on who’s marketing claims you go with. Finally, at its current price, I think it lacks value - too expensive for such a device.

### 2/5 — Few flaws but, didn’t return it yet!

*2020-04-25, version 3.4.0*

The app hangs every time have to delete it and reinstall if you
Fall asleep
While
Meditating!

Also the band gets pretty tight if you want to get a “good” reading

I actually think a dedicated o2 sat sensor,
which is why I bought this
A dedicated sensor would prob be more useful. Practical etc

I would keep biostrap if the app did not fail every single time

### 4/5 — Biostrap is a great health monitoring tool

*2019-09-20, version 3.1.0*

There are several reasons that My wife and I like using BioStrap. My wife likes using it for both tracking her exercise and monitoring her sleep cycles. For exercise I prefer my iWatch but for sleep monitoring I like Biostrap the best. I am a 72 year old male and I have been struggling with memory issues partially because of age, partially because of bad diet choices and partially because of not enough deep sleep. Biostrap has a number of excellent monitoring tools that provide you with significant feedback regarding the amount of deep sleep vs light sleep vs awake time per day, week or month. Also resting heart rate and heart rate variable as well oxygen saturation and many other measurements. The hardware and software have helped me to drastically improve the amount of Deep sleep that I get each night which in turn is helping to improve my memory, thinking and clarity. I have it a rating of 4 instead of 5 because they are not very clear on how they determine the sleep score and recovery score so it’s difficult to understand how I could best improve those scores.

### 2/5 — Not Useful for HR Zone training

*2019-06-06, version 2.2.6*

The innovation behind the device is an outstanding idea however there are a few things missing
1. If you are a person that does HR zone training this device is not for you. It does not measure active heart rate and therefore you can never know when zone (fat burning, cardio, etc)
2. You can not see any of your activity measurements on the device itself. You have to open the app and see how you did.

This has become a device that I leave by the bed to use for sleep monitoring however, since I am not using it to track any activity using it as a way to track my recovery rate is not being accomplished either.

### 2/5 — Months later, still very disappointed.

*2018-12-04, version 2.0.1*

I’ve had my Biostrap for more than six months now. My biggest complaints are:
1. Automatic sleep processing. For whatever reason, it seems to think I’m sleeping at times when I’m not.. and sometimes doesn’t detect when I am actually asleep. Those inconsistencies cause skewed data which definitely doesn’t make me want to subscribe to the sleep lab service.
2. Activity tracking. Training exercises can be a major pain and frequently fails. I have tried trading things like box jumps, cleans, clean & jerk, snatch, etc.. and all failed. I’ve performed 12-15 reps only to have the app report that no repeatable reps were detected. I’ve completely given on workout tracking, especially CrossFit, as it is completely useless. (This includes using the Shoe Pod, which I no longer even take off the charger.
3. Background sync doesn’t seem to work. I have to open the app for the band to star syncing. I bought a new phone a few days ago and the problem happens with it as well. I have background sync enabled in settings, but it doesn’t seem to matter.

### 5/5 — I like the new update

*2018-08-27, version 1.5.3*

The latest firmware for the strap and shoe pod along with the iOS update is a lot more informative for data compared to the older versions. More data seems to be collected and presented. I like the new graph layouts. It took me a while however to realise the different tracking method for Gym Activity. While the devices still auto detect treadmill/bike etc you now have to ‘teach’ activity’s like Rowing which were auto detected before. Not a problem but no advice regarding this. Also not sure what the ‘Integrations’ tab is for as empty. Overall great but if kit and software.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2018-06-18, version 1.5.1*

I was really excited to use Biostrap wristband after having used the basic Fitbit flex for more than 5 years and waiting for a good wristband. I dont find it much useful, data is missing lot of times even woth full charge, baselines are not helpful. Working in healthcare myself, I was disappointed to have spent on this.

### 5/5 — Bootstrap for life

*2018-06-11, version 1.5.0*

I love and chose biostrap for a few reasons.

First, it’s lowkey and lightweight design. It doesn’t draw too much attention so it looks good with any clothing and the lightness makes me feel free while other bracelet accessories drag me down simply because I notice their presence.

Second, the heart rate variability is a biometric which I find helpful in my quest for better health. A huge part of health as happiness is stress management, and I have found that stress strongly correlates to my hr variability. The tracking of this biometric helps me stay aware of my stress levels when I am often too stress to be aware and attentive to it myself.

These are the benefits unique to the biostrap that I’ve found. The other functions like the automatic tracking of sleep work perfectly as promised. Overall I’m very happy with my choice with biostrap!

### 5/5 — Great health tracking tech

*2018-04-05, version 1.4.1*

I love my Biostrap, it’s a great bit of tech, regular updates and great community.

The data I get back is fantastic, with detail and breadth of info,

I predominantly use to track my sleep and biohacking performance, I’ve tripled my deep sleep in less than 4 months

### 5/5 — Great product and app

*2018-04-04, version 1.4.1*

I've had mine for about a month and love it. I've never used a wearable before. The thing I like most is (and what separates Biostrap from the rest) is the superior customer service and the community of users that's being built and fostered. If anyone has an issue, not only do the employees work tirelessly to remedy it, other users chime in with suggestions. Not only are you getting a great product, you're getting a great experience.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App is not working on IOS

*2022-05-11, version 3.8.2*

App not working properly hangs all the time

### 1/5 — Don’t buy this crap decice

*2022-03-26, version 3.8.2*

Without a doubt the worst wearable I’ve ever had. To add insult to injury it will set you back over $300/ >£250. Tried to return it but Biostrap make returns as laboursome as possible meaning you are stuck with it. All the components feel like cheap and nasty low grade Chinese tech.
It also doesn’t do it’s basic functions. I’ve never had one night where it’s properly recorded my sleep. And most nights it just doesn’t detect sleep at all. So I miss out on HRV and RHR data. Messaged support who basically told me I’d need to manually enter sleep data every day! Completely useless.

### 1/5 — Expensive, buggy software, very poor support

*2022-03-04, version 3.8.2*

Total waste of money - try looking at alternatives

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2021-04-09, version 3.7.3*

Worked for a month or so, now it no longer captures any data. I have no idea why... but it’s just a useless piece of plastic now.

### 1/5 — Limited usefulness

*2021-02-08, version 3.7.2*

After 1 year the battery doesnt last for 8 hours. Company refuses to help and suggests I buy a new one. Would never buy a biostrap product again.

How it works: This is only useful for night time tracking of oxygen levels, heart rate and respiration rate. It is useless for sports tracking despite the website claims.. a $50 heart watch does 10x more for activity tracking. Apparently a small company with a good idea executed very poorly, and with disregard to customers. Would not trust their claims of an improved version and in any case they do not stand behind their product. Go with one of the more reliable products on the market.

### 1/5 — Very unimpressive.

*2020-06-21, version 3.5.0*

App is buggy and difficult to navigate, and the data recording is *highly* suspect. For instance, why should it take me fifteen minutes to figure out how to change the orientation from right wrist to left wrist? And why is the FAQ blank — are there truly no frequently asked questions? And why is the HRV chart blank? And why would my 30-mile bike ride log only 11 miles, and an activity score of 81 for the day, but when I drive the family four hours in the car on the way to vacation (and nothing else that day), the activity score is 98?

Anyway, this feels like it ought to have potential but simply fails to deliver. I’ve heard great things about Whoop from literally everyone — considering making the switch.

### 1/5 — Unreliable

*2020-02-21, version 3.3.0*

After a firmware update, the HRV measurements became unreliable. Some nights not enough measurements captured to enable the app to analyze data.

Heart rate measurements also went with long pauses between measurements.

Requested support from company to review changes after firmware update. They looked at all my measurements and said it was good. Support ignored my specific problem of time AFTER the update.

Cannot depend on device to give good measurements and cannot get decent support. Device is being returned because no data is better than making any type of decision based on bad data.

### 1/5 — What kind of BS is this

*2019-05-20, version 2.2.4*

It won’t sync. It won’t collect data when it finally does sync. Support won’t get back to me, I’ve reset the device many time, checked the strap, covered the device, increased the interval from 10 to 5 minutes. Nothing. It hasn’t collected anything for the last 3 hours. This is so frustrating. SOMEONE HELP ME FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!

### 1/5 — Update made me unable to record biometrics

*2019-05-04, version 2.2.3*

I don't know if it was the update or a faulty device but I cannot record biometrics, which is literally the entire point of having it. Also the battery drains incredibly quick.

### 1/5 — False claims on their site

*2018-07-22, version 1.5.2*

This is my third day of using this device and I’m already starting to hate it. Software designing at its poorest, charge lasts one night on the device with more recordings. And top it all I have nothing synced from 4pm last night till 9am this morning. Seems like all watch data is lost of device is added on another device. Superb designing team and thanks for losing my data with your incompetent software architect.

Don’t buy Biostrap all the claim and paid reviews are pushing this through social media to make you buy another mediocre device.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Sleep doctor approved

*2024-03-17, version 3.9.2*

This app has a lot of integrity and perhaps the best biometrics for HRV. Coming from a sleep doctor - I recommend this to my clients. It helps them follow their sleep without stressing them out with misleading data.

### 5/5 — Super cool app with great stats

*2021-06-06, version 3.7.6*

Biostrap is a very cool app when it comes to keep account of your daily steps, calories, sleep, nutrition, workout, meditation and much more.
It gives you clear idea about how much you have achieved and what is required to get to your fitness goals. I strongly recommend this app with a Biostrap set of wristband and activity pod.

Keep up the good work guys!

### 5/5 — Biostrap- game changer

*2021-05-09, version 3.7.5*

It tracks reps on weight machine. Does blood oxygen, resting heart rate. It does sleep. Super athletes are around the corner. This horse will do! Biostrap will get it done!

### 5/5 — Love Biostrap! 2 years going strong!

*2021-04-03, version 3.7.3*

My 2 yr old Biostrap 1.0 is fantastic! I chose Biostrap for it’s accuracy, red lights instead of green, and low emf and options to turn off bluetooth while on my wrist or reduce bluetooth readings during the day.

### 5/5 — Great app and great team!

*2020-09-09, version 3.5.1*

They have a great app that has helped me get back into shape and to understand my sleep patterns better!

### 5/5 — Like it a lot

*2020-01-20, version 3.2.1*

I’ve had my Biostrap for about 3 weeks. I like it a lot. The sleep tracking seems very accurate. I like that it tracks hrv, spo2, and gives you an idea of when to take it easy. Customer service has been superb, helping me out with a couple issues (one of them my fault). Not the greatest for tracking workouts, but haven’t tried “training” any movements. Also, it’s sometimes difficult to get the charger to charge the band and I have to move it around to finally take. But pretty small complaints.

### 5/5 — Earns all five stars

*2019-12-26, version 3.2.1*

Biostrap is a great product. The band is really comfortable and I like the unobtrusive design. Bluetooth connection to the app was effortless and is automatic after the initial setup. The app has an appealing interface and the amount of information is incredible. The Biostrap activity, recovery and sleep scores are helping me focus on all aspects of fitness and well-being. As advertised, activity tracking is first rate and the ability to compare exercise sessions is a nice feature. Five stars for me with the only suggestions being a larger arm band for the HRM and the ability to sync a Bluetooth scale to the app.

### 5/5 — Great Product and Excellent App

*2019-12-23, version 3.2.1*

After a lot of research, I decided on the Biostrap. Sleep and HRV monitoring were my minimum criteria. It delivers both in an easy to follow format. There’s much more on the app and they are always adding new stuff and tweaking the app to make the product even better.

### 5/5 — Great app with great support!

*2019-11-04, version 3.2.0*

The app itself works extremely well. Once you start tracking your health you’ll be able to achieve your best version of yourself. Support from the Biostrap team is second to none. I was an early adopter and have been through it all with them and have never been disappointed. And with the knowledge from the app I’ve been able to lose 45lbs and keep it off for over a year!

### 5/5 — Next Level Tracking

*2019-03-07, version 2.1.0*

Not only does the Biostrap offer insights from the baseline biometric tracking, each app release brings with it amazing new insights and features. I’m digging the new meditation tracking feature... it has me meditating more already!
