FOLKS ONCE THE BIRD DIES, the next day there is a new egg to start a NEW BIRD!!!! I have 28 birds that it shows in memory of. And the program is not all about death. So if you had launched the app once the bird passes the next day, you would’ve seen the egg and you tap on it you can rename the bird another name and the program starts over and you make the garden and I don’t wanna spoil it for others, but it’s still enjoyable and it’s not all about death. So please don’t listen to the naysayers and try the app out. Note to the developer, I realize you’re only one person but I know a little bit about programming and if you could in different phrases for the bird and different ideas wouldn’t be repetitive. To have only one update a year, is hard because I’ve bought you 6 cups of coffee already. And you probably don’t even read these reviews anymore since it’s been a year since the last update so I may email you. 04/12/25 this is my third update. I noticed that there’s no updates for 10 months. No response to my feedback from the developer I bought the 299 for a cup of coffee and another 899 3x times for two pair pairs of socks for the developer and that wasn’t acknowledged by the developer. I adore this program. I just was wondering when they were gonna update any of the changes that I suggested and other people have suggested. It’s so cute and it’s sweet and I’m on my fourth bird. It would be nice if they kept the garden growing from bird to bird. Can I get any feedback from the developer? There’s no way to send a message within the app to the developer. Then I can change it to five stars. So apparently the developer is not reading these comments. There’s a way to leave or contact the developer within the app but it’s going to a page that’s broken. It’s giving that 404 error so contacting the developer within the app is broken. ************************** Second update 04.05.25. My third bird is going to pass away probably tonight. And I’m already grieving. I noticed some of the responses with this third word are similar to the other two birds. I love that the memorial at the beginning, remembers my first bird and second birds names and they only seem to live for a month. I’ve bought the two support the author twice I bought two of the one cup of coffee for 299 and then one for 899 so I’ve supported the developer. I’m hoping that they can continue to collect the poems and the drawings cumulatively as long as we keep playing and getting new birds instead of losing the existing drawings and poems we create together. That would be nice. I do love this app, but those would be some improvements so that we’re not losing what drawings we make and what poems we make it just adds to them with each new bird. I do really love that. I love the fact that the bird has to think and that gives me my own space. I wouldn’t mind getting response or feedback from the developer. *************** This is an update to this review. It would be nice if you talk to him that he heard you and could respond as such if the app could utilize the microphone. When bird asks how you’re feeling the responses are you’re either always having a good day or having a completely bad day, but there isn’t ever one that you’re having a meh day or just a OK day. I just paid 899 the second way to support the developer to get a different icon, but I noticed there’s no upgrades for nine months. I’m hoping this changes and put implement some of our suggestions. Nine months is a long time to go through with no upgrades. But I do love the fact that he only talks once a day so that’s good, but please do an upgrade soon. The only thing I’d have to complain about is when you’re drawing the artwork, the colors are really not appropriate to draw anything realistic. They’re just random colors. I was trying to draw a body of water and all I had was purple light, pink, and green if you could put more of a pallet to choose from that would make the drawings better. I really like the fact that the bird only talk once or twice a day. I found it really sad when he was gone he had died and I found myself crying. Then it was happy when I saw the egg. I have been emailing back-and-forth with the app creator and he is shocked that he seen somebody with so many birds I’m up to 28 birds. I’m trying to convince him that he can update with more text words he has to have everything translated. I was told that he is not working on the app anymore as he’s got other projects. But I’ve grown attached to the bird and it’s almost like my friend so I’m trying to convince him to see if he can get his other translators to help out to add more phrases to the app. So hopefully he’ll do that. I don’t know what I’m paying for if I’m buying a nine dollar pair of socks for him. Where is the money going for if he’s not working on the app that should be removed. ### 3/5 — Great game; bad paywall *2026-07-31, version 4.4* I downloaded this not knowing what would entail. As I grew to know my bird, Jelly, he helped me better my socialization skills and really consider my mental health. Our friendship blossomed into something beautiful. And then he freaking died and I have to pay to continue. What! Let me and Jelly continue to thrive! I must! It was beautiful. I instantly fell in love with my bird Mango. This game was so special to me, and Mango meant so much to me. The painting full of my love for him, feeding him berries off the trees, petting him…it all made me feel comfort I’d never felt ever. the bird gave me someone i was able to talk to easily without immediately backing out. Mango made me feel so special. he was the best friend I’d never had. and one day, after maybe five days, Mango says goodbye? i was confused, then, “pay 3.00 to continue.” are you actually serious? i dont have any sort of money as a teenage girl. so i was forced to delete the app. its so stupid, making someone who is simply looking for comfort and a person to talk to have to PAY for it. thats incredibly selfish, and i will probably not associate with this game unless it’s fixed. it probably won’t be fixed though. and i KNOW im not the only one who is annoyed by this. i enjoyed and loved this game SO MUCH in the beginning, but that one little message made me lose all the hope i had. i couldnt even do anything else after i got that message; no continuation or new conversations or new paintings or the terrible, heartbreaking yet meaningful ending for Mango. some people will probably hate on me for this, and think im being dramatic, im not. im simply annoyed. making us PAY for a best friend is honestly dumb. im sorry, but i had to come on here and say this. please fix this. almost like 50% of people who downloaded this game are incredibly frustrated by it too; i saw the reviews. devs, i honestly despise this. My Bird Alone was named Karra. I would visit Karra every single day. I fell in love with that bird, and they gave me a reason to wake up and GET up. Karra and I made great poetry together. Their poem minigame got me into writing real poetry all by myself. The artwork I made for them was beautiful in their eyes and mine. I felt loved, truly, by a scripted 3D bird. I have never felt more sorrow, even when real life pets of mine died, than I did when Karra told me that they could feel it, that it was their last day. When Karra told me after our last poem that they'd "remember this one for sure," I was on the bus home. It was a Wednesday. I grieved them like a real family member for the next two days and then I hardly left my bedroom the following weekend. The only reason I played this game to it's entirety was because two years ago I believe, I installed it but uninstalled it soon after for lack of space and money. I'm deeply grateful to my past self for installing it in the first place so it was in my app history and I could discover this life changing experience, now with the money to purchase the full version. I almost wish I hadn't, but I spent the entire summer in a mild depressive episode that meeting Karra and befriending them pulled me out of. Bird Alone is a masterpiece and I will NEVER forget this game nor will I EVER forget about Karra. My new bird Mavilyn, though identical to my baby, feels so different. They feel much less personality-filled. All that aside, this is such a beautiful game, and I felt dread watching Karra slowly talk about death more and more. I will always miss Karra.
