My first couple of weeks were wonderful and I fell in love with the adorable birds, interesting facts, and the relaxing nature of the gameplay. However, the dream bubble event came around and is not only stressful but much more unfair than the previous sprout event. It ruins the fun vibe the game had previously and it’s causing me to lose interest. I have read many other reviews complaining about this event, and the community consensus seems to be that players wish to go back to having sprout events only. The developers seem to notice and acknowledge these opinions but it has been months and it is still incredibly frustrating. I will add that I’ve learned that the dream bubble event can be skipped without much consequence, so I will be doing that in the future instead of uninstalling for now. I really don’t want to delete the app because I love every other aspect, but I will find it hard to justify continuing to play if I no longer enjoy the experience. It’s truly unfortunate because Bird Kind would have been an easy 5-star review for me if not for this one glaring issue. ### 3/5 — Cant access on old devices *2026-08-10, version 1.77* Since add age verify Australia i cannot access app. Developers tried to help n said they got same asmy device to check issues, thanks jessica. Still cant access. Very sad. I recommend your games and trying the different types because they have different things about them. I kept pomdlife starlight flutter and birdkind and would go on them every day from may i think until this update mid july i cannot access birdkind. Now things struggle with other apps cant be balance by playing this one so i am struggling to play starlight flurtter. Am using these apps to connect to animals because i dont have access in real life so depressing i cant access it due to technology issues. Not their fault apple is fart ### 2/5 — Good but broken *2026-08-01, version 1.77* My game has a X in the top right corner, I can’t do anything other than open the plant menu and open packages and grow plants all that stuff. But I can’t use food flowers, interact with birds, or collect spirits and melody ### 4/5 — Nice for relaxation and calm, mid for education *2026-07-28, version 1.77* I think that there could be more informations about the bird like the sound he makes and some other particular informations, but except that, the game is pretty nice -Student in biology ### 3/5 — Missing the Magic *2026-07-26, version 1.77* I’ve played all of runaway games and this is probably my least favorite of its specific genre. It has similar issues to its sibling games like flutter where events are extremely difficult to complete with out spending money (to the point that it’s impossible for some players like me who to work and sleep) but I also feel like there were some things missing. The other characters don’t have their own pages in the book like some of the other titles do. It’s little but when it there it makes me so much more invested. Second I really feel like with birds we should take advantage of the fact that appear more intelligent and sociable, and have unique sounds and behaviors. I wish my birds did more than just fly around and perch like butterflies. They should interact with each other and the environment! How cool would it be if the games sound changes based on which birds are in forest with you. What if instead of random bird calls you actually got the spefic calls of the birds you own. What if birds could preen each other. What you could place decor the birds could play with. That all would take the game to the next level! ### 5/5 — Great Collector-type Game *2026-07-19, version 1.77* I’ve been playing this game for a year now and there’s still tons of birds to collect. The event birds happen every other week and they do eventually reoccur if you miss them. I also have to say that they have incredible customer service at one point. I was locked out of my account with an update and I emailed them and they responded and fixed the issue within a couple days. It was good enough that I started playing their other animal games. Would recommend. :) ### 2/5 — Latest Update Has Created Huge Bug *2026-07-19, version 1.77* I cannot close out of an invisible window that appears every time the game starts. There is an X in the corner but it does nothing. Love it, I’ve played it every day up until yesterday’s update when I can no longer access the game due to getting a message during login saying “Game cannot be played—something has gone wrong when trying to check age compliance to play the game”. I have not received a reply back from support, and I will be very upset if I miss the second bird in the event because of this. I have three days until that happens, but hopefully it will be fixed before then. Please advise, Runaway! ### 5/5 — Great game *2026-07-15, version 1.69* This game is fantastic. However, as a longtime player, I’ve watched it really go downhill in the last year. There are glitches that affect gameplay or the events weekly, and some of those glitches literally brick the game so that you can’t get in or can’t play. It’s become a constant frustration, or in the case of the Tashi events, maddeningly unfair because you cannot get the color balloons you need to advance at all for days. At least with the seeds, you can have small progress every two hours. I’ve gone three days with zero progress even when paying gemberries to reset the goals. I really wish they would keep this app balanced in gameplay (fair) and on a more basic level just functional on a consistent basis. ### 1/5 — The new update cause the app to lag *2026-07-25, version 1.77* Argh I can’t click on anything. Australia age laws impact game? But New update 1.77 july 18, loads account then freezes right away and the page dims and a cross in top right of screen and it keeps showing goals, you cannot move the screen or press anything not even the cross and nothing actually pops up to exit but cant press anything or play game. So it will load now but just for a moment then you cant do anything like its still stuck loading a issue. It is impossible to get both birds with Tashi. This event does not have accurate percentages for the chance of popping the bubbles. It will go two days or more, of a limited six day event, not offering the specific colors that you need so you don’t advance at all (and paying to clear a task is broken and does not clear the task). And, even if you choose to purchase bubbles and slingshots to try to get the birds, it’s impossible to get to the second bird. I have waited months for some of these advertised birds to come available in an event, and now they’re not possible to get to. The seed events at least let you have some progress every two hours, whereas the bear events can lock you out of the colored fruit you need and you make little to no progress all day! Go back to the seed events only because they were balanced, fair, and it was clear how to advance to get what you might want as a player. ### 1/5 — Made it even more confusing *2026-04-02, version 1.63* The change to how we can earn the birds is confusing and now based on the luck of popping some bubble, so it’s even harder to earn birds or understand what to do. It also makes it pointless to invest in the game because you still might not earn the birds. I have waited three days for gold leafs to come up in the bubbles and they haven’t, so my “task” list is blocked by things that don’t show up. Or you pop some and still can’t clear any task for that 2 hour block or earn any points at all. At least with plants it was slow progress, this is NO PROGRESS most of the time. So we have a bird game you can’t actually earn both birds now, and barely get one copy of the first bird!
