## What is Birdar?

Birdar is a map-first bird finding companion. Search a species or browse notable (rare/unusual) sightings, and see recent observations plotted near you, distance-sorted, with directions one tap away.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
- Search any species and see recent nearby sightings
- Browse "notable" observations, rare or unusual birds reported nearby
- Tap a sighting for time, distance, and count, then get Directions (Apple Maps) or open the full eBird listing
- Set a target species and track how far the nearest recent sighting is
- Keep notables and your target bird on your Lock Screen or Home Screen

LOCK SCREEN & HOME SCREEN WIDGETS
- Notable bird, the closest nearby rarity, with relative time ("today," "2 days ago")
- Target bird — distance to the nearest recent sighting of the species you're chasing
Widgets show the last snapshot synced from the app, open Birdar to refresh.

BUILT FOR THE FIELD
- Hotspots-only results by default, for cleaner searches
- Adjustable search radius, date range, and result count
- A retro field-notebook look: wood frames, parchment cards, and built to feel like a field guide, not corporate app chrome

Birdar is a companion for finding birds, not a replacement for eBird. There are no accounts, no logging, no checklists, just a fast way to see what's around before your next stop
