The app allows you to use BirdID's (birdid.no) practice tasks and bird book on your Apple device. You can download the entire bird book with sounds and images to use it offline, or use what you need online when needed. The book currently contains approx. 380 species but is constantly expanding. The content is updated automatically. The quiz function gives you access to all of BirdID's 45,000 tasks on your Apple device. It is also possible to download task sets for offline use so that you can take the tasks with you, or practice the same set many times. The application requires some memory on your phone. A fantastic way to test your bird identification skills. ### 2/5 — Sound ID glitch persists *2025-04-10, version 2.0.11* A smart re design, however despite the recent updates staring “bug fixes”, the main glitch remains. On the ‘Sound’ section of the bird ID quiz, the media files do not play at all (no sound is outputted) despite clicking play and pause. The sound never plays. The actual quiz on the website is great when that works but same problem. One thing I will say though is that quite often the same birds will appear in the quiz which is a bit annoying, for example “pheasant” sometimes comes up twice in the same quiz.
