Love it plus I only need the free version. The first outing of 2025, I couldn’t get the app to find my location. I have an iPhone 11 so I checked location permissions under app setting. It is set to allow while app is in use. I think that’s always been the configuration. It is accurate. I enjoy using it. But it really uses up the battery for full 18 holes. I started my phone at 100% and by the end of the round it was down to 18%. Also, since I wear gloves on both hands, it is hard to advance to the next hole. I do not have the premium version. **Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. Please check the User Guide for tips on how to save battery life. Most likely a device settings change will fix that for you. And the Auto-Hole feature is available with Club Membership and that will automatically change the holes for you. Please reach out at support@birdieapps.com for anything else. GPS is slow to update, but was accurate as compared to the yardages marked on the sprinkler heads. ### 5/5 — True Player’s App *2019-09-19* This app provides far better images than satellite views for shot planning. It is easy to get your distances down in a moments time, which is much better than most apps I’ve tried and the most important feature for me. App is very easy to use and best of all uses no data and not much battery life compared with other apps. I have downloaded several golf Apps and this is the best app I’ve run across. Courses download quickly and run offline. Only thing needed is ability to track more than one golfer. They are working on this for future use - friends use golf watches that cost $150+ which only allow one golfer to input scores - $20 per year is a deal. No need for lessons while you play, no need to watch news, video, photo gallery, etc when I am on a course. Just play your game. We like to play ready golf and this app will not slow down your game and irritate people you are playing with and those following you. We tried top ranked apps and we keep coming back to this one. The image is clear and the app is easy to use. That is the one we are getting without any compromises. I realize I'm using the "free" version thereby being classed as a second class citizen, but it's hard to use a gps if my course isn't listed. When I was able to use this gps, for Ironwood in Fishers, I really liked it and plan on using it in the future, if my courses get mapped. A friend downloaded the app while we waited to start our round and he liked it too. I will probably give this app a better rating when and if I can use it on more courses. Rating downgraded to one star due to inability to get courses added. It's now been three and a half months. My friend also requested courses to be added and we have not seen any results yet. Apparently the free version participants don't carry any weight when it comes to priority course addition. What use is this app if it doesn't reflect what a player needs? I really liked using this app,but I don't play the same course all the time. I get the info necessary to score better without having to go through and dismiss all sorts of prompts. This is a golfer centric tool that seamlessly gives you the info you need. After down load the local course I play was not on the list ? I requested the said course and it was on the app after a day (class) after a second course request …. Boom 1 day and it was on. Amazing service . Used it for the first time today and I must be honest the free version was great front middle and back of the greens were displayed which was what I was after, unsure if I need the full version which at £23.99 annual cost is a great price compared to other apps, so I might be tempted to upgrade? A few more rounds and I’ll decide. Really please with display on my watch and customer service. Battery Hogs all. I don’t care about keeping up with my friends that are playing. Keeping score for a group on an App no thanks. Getting club selection, don’t need it. All I want is an App that knows where you are and gives you an accurate distance. The fact that I don’t have to use an extra battery to keep it working for 18 and still use my phone the rest of the day is exceptional.
