Am I missing something here? ### 5/5 — Still the best *2022-12-21, version 4.3.1* Been using this app for about 4 years. Just continues to deliver. I’ve learnt so much about birds. The best thing about it is the sequential methods and algorithms to shortlist a sighting. To my surprise I saw BirdPro which I had never heard of. I downloaded the evaluation version and a while later took a gamble and paid for the full version. Never again will I need of any other app in the foreseeable future nearly everything I could’ve wanted was in one app. What makes me happier is that they seem to be working constantly on the app and additional features. Everyone around me was reluctant and set in their ways, not interested in this ‘new’ app of mine after spending holidays with the different people one for one they have made the switch to BirdPro and now enjoy it with me. Absolutely brilliant! Love it! Would Highly recommend! ### 5/5 — Best birding app of Southern Africa by far! *2022-02-20* Having tried nearly all the birding apps for the region, I can happily say this is by far the best. The advanced search methods are incredibly in depth and the photo identification is spot on even with some of my rushed, out of focus photos. Listing sightings is also done with much ease! I had a small challenge with one of the features and made contact with the developers via WhatsApp. They responded immediately by calling me and reverted back a little later on the same day saying they found the problem and are fixing it. If this is the kind of service we can expect going forward then they have secured lifetime subscription from me. In a world where we hardly ever get to speak to the people who make decisions it was such a breath of fresh air. It says that I have no subscription. So I probably lost all my recorded sightings… it’s the second time this happened… **Developer response:** We brought out a new version to address this issue. Please let me know if it is resolved now. ### 1/5 — Crash central *2025-12-17, version 4.3.8* Just bought app. Every time I add a quick sighting the entire app crashes (IPhone 16pro 18.6.2). There are some birds in my garden. I have no idea what kind of birds they are. All I know is that make the most beautiful sounds. So I was looking for an app that I can use to record the birds in order to identify them because it is virtually impossible to take a photo of a bird sitting in a tree 60 meters away in order to identify the bird. Menus not intuitive and identify by traits not great Also, I want to cancel my subscription and even after 10 minutes searching, I can still not find where and how to cancel. However I miss a sorting function that sorts birds in taxonomic order (as used in nearly every other field guide). Alphabetical sorting per family is confusing and makes things hard to find. **Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback.
