Bird songs work, occasionally. Describing a crow brought up no suggestions. For someone like myself with limited knowledge of birds, this app is not impressing me.

If I have an idea what the bird could be, I stand a better chance of identifying it. Trying to find it through the ‘describe the bird’ bit is hit and miss, with emphasis on the miss. Not enough options given. The identification through the bird sing has come in useful, just wish it was easier to input a description when I don’t gave a clue, as I end up googling. Expensive app for an average experience.

I’ve used this for years. Brilliant. I once found a bird “missing”, contacted the author and received a very quick reply politely guiding me to the bird in question. 
Highly recommended.

Love using this app as it’s up to date for what I need it for, I can save my sightings and write a little review of what I’ve seen and pin point the Location as a reminder 
And even the bird calls have helped not just recognise the bird but I play the calls on a nature reserve as I could hear the bird I was trying to photo and when it kept flying back and forth and almost at me to see where this intruder was coming from, I got some of my best shots of this beautiful iconic little bird.

I’ve found this App to be so helpful, my only complaint, if you could call it that is with the menu for identifying birds, size, colour etc. This would be helpful if more identifying categories could be added, especially size.

I’ve found this app really useful having got back into birding on my lockdown walks. Being able access such a complete reference, pictures, maps, recordings etc, all at the touch of a button on my phone has been invaluable.  The record centre also works well, but it would be handy if it were possible to allocate a sighting to a user specified list name, e.g. garden, local patch, etc, (i.e. lists that apply to more than one date or set of consecutive dates). It would just require an additional field in each record. Also, would it be possible for the iPad app to have the option of including or excluding the time of the sighting, as in the iPhone version?

In the short time I have been using this app, it has helped me, very much not a bird expert, to identify and learn more about many of the visitors to my garden.

The developer has also shown a desire to resolve the minor issue that I had with the app.

Downloaded the update, tried to set iCloud sync, but fails to find iCloud despite switched on.  Now when open app that’s all it tries to do, and won’t accept ‘try later’ so now unusable.  Tried deleting and redownloading but just the same.  Now also lost what limited sightings I had.

Unfortunately no longer works on my iPad. 😱
Despite repeated requests the company have failed to help.  Now the programme can’t save the location.  Don’t buy this.

So much good content and functionality. However lacks many species outside of UK. Moreover, since asking and receiving reassurance of adding the missing species, nothing has been done. This was 2 years ago and no replies since.

Does not include Blue Jay which is a common resident in Britain. I wonder how many other birds have been omitted

I was really excited to use this app, I love the information provided, the pictures and the bird song but as with most UK based services Northern Ireland doesn’t seem to exist to whoever developed this app, you can’t set your location and the ‘here and now’ feature, which is the main reason I went for this particular app, is completely useless to me.

How difficult could it have possibly been to add in Northern Ireland? The ‘British Isles’ includes the island of Ireland geographically and Northern Ireland is definitely supposed to be included within the UK.

I have had this app for a long time now and I can honestly state that it is my favourite app and the features are truly wonderful in all aspects. Improvements are always welcome but how you improve on perfection well good look with that . Additional species is all I can wish for .

I’ve used this app for a few years now. I have a few apps and I use the others if I need more info like juveniles, pictures in flight etc, however this is my preferred first choice. The information is well laid out and I like that I can record my sightings and can also hear the bird song. I don’t record everything but just my more unusual sightings.

Good for identifying most birds. BUT Went to open my list of sightings from last winter 2020/21 they had all gone! 
So in future I will keep to using pencil and paper, far more reliable.

We’ve been using this app for many years now as our main app for recording our sightings. It’s extremely useful for IDing, especially the ‘key’ feature. Its bird calls are perfect too. Frankly I can’t fault it. 😍

I absolutely love this app. I can record what I’ve seen and where. 
I can see how many I get on each trip and my total. 
Would be lost without it and a friend has a different one and recording a sighting is so much quicker in the app.
