### 1/5 — App crashes upon opening

*2026-05-30*

Sadly the app doesn’t work on my device (iPhone 15 Pro). The app opens, then after asking to share location data with the app it crashes. It never makes it past the opening page. Tried all the basic troubleshooting and downloading on a different device and had the same problem. Would love for this to be fixed so I can have this book digitally!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2024-09-30*

Just purchased: app won’t open beyond front page. Have requested refund

### 3/5 — Good book but could be improved

*2024-09-01*

A friend had what must have been an earlier version which had the layout of the physical book, with 6-8 similar birds grouped on each page, with larger pictures. This, I feel, is a better layout than the existing one where there are small images in a column.
Also I have found at least 3 birds missing - Andean ibis, glacier finch and Goulds Inca - all seen by me. Also white browed antbird — I saw a similar bird in high sierra but internet info states a different environment so not identified… but this bird is also not in Birds of Peru app.

### 4/5 — Great Resource, But More Vocalizations Desirable

*2024-02-18*

Nothing else nearly so comprehensive and authoritative available for Peru, a nation whose avifauna is very complex. Good to see updates of nomenclature provided, but not enough recordings: several species are not covered, and in many instances the range of recordings offered for species is too limited.

### 5/5 — Peru Birds App

*2022-12-15*

Excellent app. Uses the same images, range maps and text as the book (with updates). We took both book and app on a tour but didn’t use the book at all. Obviously the addition of the songs and calls for most species is a huge bonus. Also has a listing facility which you can use to record the species already seen.

### 2/5 — Disappointing

*2020-03-22*

It's just a scanned copy of the paper book, without that much reorganization for an App. It's slow and crashes often on either iPad or iPhone XR.

### 4/5 — Good App

*2019-12-16*

Some species don’t have range maps or sound recordings. Other than that, it’s really good!

### 5/5 — Perfect app for use on the go

*2019-09-14*

Really useful to help identify birds especially as our guide only knew the calls of the birds - we could use the app to work out species using the calls and then the pictures.

### 4/5 — Great app. Could use some technical adjustments

*2019-08-22*

Love this app. It’s kept up to date and the acoustics are unparalleled. Only has some issues with searching Latin names, and the viewing gets weird when sorting or searching sometimes.

### 5/5 — Bird Nird

*2019-04-06*

This is going to be such a big help! Now the book can stay in the backpack most of the time, rather than clutched in one hand awkwardly as you hold your binoculars. But by far the great thing is the sound recordings! So often they clinch the diagnosis.
