I’ve been using BirdScout on neighborhood walks and hikes, and the sound ID makes it surprisingly easy to figure out which birds are around me. I especially like that it works offline, since I don’t always have reception on trails. It really does the scouting for you, and I’ve started recognizing a few local birds on my own. Definitely makes ordinary walks more interesting.
