### 4/5 — Very helpful

*2026-04-11*

I’ll never understand AI, and it kinda scares me, but this app is proving to be very helpful in my attempt to lose weight. It helps me be accountable, without making guarantees. My only complaint is that I have to remove the app from my screen and restart it almost every time I use it. Other than that, it does exactly what it says it would do. Since it’s been only a couple days, in a month or so I’ll be able to better appreciate its worth.

**Developer response:** Hi JoannGr — thanks for the honest review and glad it's already helping with accountability. The freeze-on-reopen bug should be fixed in our latest update — please update Bite AI in the App Store and let us know if it still happens. Looking forward to hearing how it's going in a month.

### 4/5 — Great App

*2025-09-24, version 2.0.1*

The app itself is quite helpful and easy to use, but there is one major issue: I keep getting a constant error message saying that a “meal analysis was interrupted” and asking me to resume. This pop-up appears all the time and cannot be fixed, which is really annoying during daily use.

Another suggestion: it would be fantastic if the app had a widget for quick access to calories and macros left. That would make tracking much easier and more convenient.

### 4/5 — Vvery very good app

*2025-08-06*

Very very goooooood app

### 4/5 — 4 stelle

*2025-06-07, version 1.1.0*

App fantastica, la svolta nel tracciare ogni pasto, ma peccato per l’abbonamento richiesto con il nuovo aggiornamento, era una delle poche app affidabili senza dover effettuare un abbonamento

### 4/5 — Great app one suggestion

*2025-03-10*

Great app and calculates the calories pretty accurately most of the time but you guys should let it import nutrition into apple health

**Developer response:** Thank you for your honest review and thoughtful suggestions! 😊 You're absolutely right—planning ahead is super important, and we hear you on wanting to log meals for tomorrow. Also, we’ll improve the editing experience after AI analyzes a photo. We really appreciate your feedback and are already working on making those improvements!

### 4/5 — Einfaches modernes UI, aber Funktionen optimierungsfähig

*2025-01-15, version 1.0.5*

### 5/5 — I like it

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Does not count properly

*2026-05-28*

Doesn’t count it properly. How to contact customer service?

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2026-02-14*

The recent update broke it does not scan food or labels or anything now

**Developer response:** Thanks for letting us know. We've identified and fixed the scanning issue in our latest update. Please update the app and try again — it should work smoothly now. If you still have trouble, reach out to us at support and we'll help right away.

### 1/5 — Waste of $30. Hopefully they can fix the issues that prevent entering accurate nutritional values.

*2026-01-18*

Sometimes it works fantastically. Mostly when you have a nice perfect flat nutrition label to scan.

If you have something round and small for example - overnight oats from Trader Joe’s…it’s a small round container and it can’t scan the label and you can’t take more than one photo per food entry. Now you can manually input the macros - but when you do it automatically changes other values?! For example I put 250 calories, 6G fat, 42G of Carbs, 6g Protein it will drop calories to 184, or it will increase carbs to 44? If I change the amount from the default 100g to anything else it completely wonks up my macros and magically it becomes a 150 calorie 10g protein oatmeal. Let us insert custom values and stop changing them with your “ai”.

When you select “fix with ai” it’s no different than using a random number generator. This seems like it should be an easy fix.

There’s also no way to enter sodium, sat fats, sugar etc…why not?

**Developer response:** Hi Branden — thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review. We completely understand how frustrating it is when nutritional values don’t stay consistent after manual edits. That defeats the purpose of accurate tracking.
Since this review, we’ve made significant improvements to how custom macros are handled. Manual entries now maintain the values you input without being automatically adjusted, and we’ve improved scanning behavior for more challenging packaging shapes. Accuracy and user control have been major priorities for us.
We know you invested in the app, and we genuinely want it to deliver the experience you expected. If you’re open to it, please reach out to us directly at team@hypedev.co so we can personally assist and make sure everything is working properly for you.
We appreciate the honest feedback — it helps us build a better product.

### 1/5 — Kosten

*2025-06-10, version 1.1.0*

War ein super App hab 5 Kilo damit abgenommen und jetzt kostet es Geld ich finde es gar nicht gut

### 1/5 — Photos not uploading

*2025-01-17*

I can take a photo and it starts “uploading” but then stops and it’s not saved. The only way I can upload food is scanning nutrition label.

**Developer response:** Thanks for reporting this. The photo upload issue has been fixed in our latest update. Please update the app and try again — photos should upload and save properly now. Let us know if you run into any other issues!

### 2/5 — Pick another app.

*2026-02-03*

I purchased an annual membership last year, but the app has repeatedly failed to perform basic functions that are essential to its use. Specifically:

Poor Food Label Scanning:
The app rarely scans food labels successfully. In most cases, it fails to recognize or properly capture the nutritional information from packaging.
Inaccurate Photo Estimates:
When I take photos of food items, the app’s nutrition estimates are frequently incorrect. I find myself having to manually correct the information on nearly every item, which defeats the purpose of using a photo-based tracking tool.
Unable to Delete Items:
There is no reliable way to remove incorrect items from my daily log. Attempting to delete entries does not work. I’m forced to zero out items to prevent them from affecting my daily totals, which is inconvenient and not intuitive.

These issues have persisted since I first subscribed, and I have not seen any meaningful improvements. As a paying member, I feel that the app does not currently deliver the functionality I expected.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the detailed feedback — we take this seriously. We've improved label scanning accuracy and fixed the item deletion issue in recent updates. The macro editing sliders have also been refined so values stay consistent when you adjust them. Please update to the latest version and give it another try. We're committed to making Bite AI reliable for paying members like you.

### 2/5 — New update deleted my account and all my progress.

*2025-05-26, version 1.0.8*

I've had Bite Al for the past 6 months and I wanted to log in what I ate for the day to only find out Bite Al logged me out. So I tried to log in but my account apparently doesn't exist. I don't know if it's because of this new update or what but I've now lost over 6 months of progress, including all of my saved meals which is not ideal at all. The app before the update has a lot of bugs like when I would scan my food the app would register it and then remove it , causing me to always take a photo on my camera to not lose track of what I’ve eaten. Yes the new update looks nice for sure, but please can I have my account retrieved asap.

### 3/5 — Good and Free

*2025-05-12*

I like that you get all the features for free unlike literally every other app, but the voice feature does not work and scanning a picture of the food is often glitchy and will log and then disappear seconds later

**Developer response:** Thanks for the honest review! We’re actively improving the voice and image scanning features. Your feedback helps us make the app better — please keep it coming!

### 3/5 — É la lavorarci sopra

*2025-04-21, version 1.0.7*

Funziona, ma non é attendibile soprattutto con le foto del piatto.

### 3/5 — Decent

### 5/5 — Clean and easy

*2026-02-27*

The layout is clean and not cluttered. I figured everything out without watching a tutorial.

**Developer response:** Hi Gwenda,
Thank you for taking the time to share this — that means a lot. We’ve worked hard to keep the experience clean and intuitive, so hearing that you could jump in without a tutorial is exactly what we aim for.

### 5/5 — 5 star

*2025-04-08, version 1.0.5*

this app is so good. ive been looking for a free app like this and this is 100% the best. im so glad its free. thank you for what you do.

### 5/5 — Bite Ai

*2025-03-20*

BiteAi reminds me of MyFitnessPal, but with no limit to your macros visibility. It lets you log meals, track weight, and monitor macros over the week instead of just focusing on daily numbers, which I appreciate. The weekly breakdown makes it easier to see progress without stressing over every single meal.

It also tracks BMI, though I take that with a grain of salt since it doesn’t tell the full picture. Still, it’s a solid tool for staying on top of my nutrition and fitness goals without overcomplicating things.

This app is a great alternative to MyFitnessPal. Support small businesses ;)

Also, doesn’t crash or move slow.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for your kind words and support! We're really happy you enjoy the weekly breakdown and how easy it is to use. You’re right—BMI doesn’t tell the whole story, but we’re glad it’s still a helpful tool for you. We’re working hard to keep things simple and smooth. Thanks again for supporting small teams like ours!
