Bites error about on checkout with unexpected error message. Then I drove up to Mylapore and placed an order in person. But unknown to me Bites app had charged my credit card! Please spread the word to your friends and family using the referral link in the App. ### 4/5 — Cost effective *2025-04-14* Less options however cost effective & they have loyalty rewards (which is great) however it’s at restaurant level ie one can’t use those loyalty points across restaurants. Driver tip has to be given upfront and can’t be modified to increase/decrease later on after delivery. Also doesn’t provide any information on delivery fee if driver gets all of it or if any other fees like service fees are included in it and if that goes to Bites. So one might believe driver gets delivery fees and tips. Other minor issue is merchant code they use for credit card processing, shows up as “courier services-air or ground, freight forwarding” instead of dining/restaurant/food category merchant code, so you might loose slightly on any credit card dining rewards. **Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. Eventually went to the website and placed order. So even though I have the latest version of the app installed, I have to use the website. I added all the items to cart and tried to edit an item to add special instructions and it crash the app. tried multiple times and now uninstalling it. Spending time to write review so others don’t waste their time. ### 1/5 — Ordered cancelled after I reach the restaurant *2026-06-20, version 1.3.144* Placed an order through the app, received confirmation, and started driving to the restaurant. While I was already on the way, I received a message saying the restaurant was not accepting online orders and that my order had been cancelled. If the restaurant wasn’t accepting orders, the app should never have allowed the order to be placed and confirmed in the first place. The refund is appreciated, but it doesn’t compensate for the wasted time, fuel, and inconvenience. What was the name on the order? So just to show them I opened the app, and in the order page it doesn't show any information about order pickup person. Just shows what was ordered No order number or anything I have to use this app because it's cheap. I’m frustrated because I’m unable to get my food and the restaurant should be frustrated for picking bites as the primary way to order because they are loosing my business!! (P.s. I said lots of bugs, because the app freezes a lot, and login was a pain and kept failing repeatedly and I had to force close the app a couple of times as well) Update: figured out that the app does not allow for pickup and is expects you to enter the delivery address to move past that screen. Also realized that the promo code fails to get applied multiple times after this. So I had to go back and start the process again. They have raised the bar to show that they can provide better service compared to established competitors in the space while reducing the prices for the same items from the restaurants. The notifications are very helpful to keep track of the deliveries.
