## What is bitfarm?

Attention: This application can only be used in combination with bitfarm-Archiv DMS 'Enterprise Edition' version 3.6 or newer.
bitfarm-Archiv mobile is a convenient way to access the documents and resubmissions of your bitfarm-Archiv document management system - whether on the move at home or from the office.
These are the prerequisites that have to be met to connect the application to your DMS:
1) bitfarm-Archiv DMS 'Enterprise Edition' version 3.6
1) a functional bitfarm app server,
2) a functional VPN connection to your company network.

bitfarm-Archiv mobile provides the following features:
- archive navigation via tree view
- image previews for documents
- an option to download original files
- display original files by using external apps

IMPORTANT NOTE:
To provide reliable operation for every function of this new app version, either the http-server version of 2018-06-28 (Version: 3.6.0.1005) or later dates is required. Please contact our software support for further information.


NEW FUNCTIONS:
Quick start (bzw. Quick launch):
• accelerates the start of the application by factor five

Background activities:
• connection indicator is green / orange

Empty search in additional fields:
• search mask -> context menu

Version check:
• Users are notified if the app does not yet work with the best possible http-server

Security:
• If the application detects another user logging in on the same device, every locally saved document of the original user will be deleted so that the other user will not have any access to them.   

Usability:
• Duplicate checking of locally saved documents before downloading them
• The current page’s display and the maximum number of pages can now be freely configured via the app’s options.

Direct aid:
• You can now find direct aid for certain issues by clicking the "?" symbol.


ELIMINATION OF CRITICAL ERRORS:
Archive tree:
• A problem that caused the archive tree to not build up – and thus made searching impossible – was solved.


ELIMINATION OF OTHER ERRORS:
Login:
• It is not necessary anymore to enter the user name in case-sensitive letters.

Resubmissions:
• Due to a calculation error, all resubmissions were marked as overdue one day early. This problem was solved.

Additional fields:
• A backend error was caused if too much text was added to a type-0-addfield. This field now has a limit of 255 characters.
• If multiple addfields had the same sorting number, the requested order did not always match. This error was removed.

Edit mode:
• Addfields were overwritten although they already were modified by the user. This problem does not exist anymore.

GUI:
• On particular devices that used specific layouts, it was possible that the "details" tab on the document window was neither visible nor clickable. The error was removed.


In addition to everything that was mentioned above, orthography, translation and display of the app were improved.
