I wanted the Lifetime Membership as I don't do subscriptions but I'm sorry it costs more than a new treadmill so it's not happening - in UK the VAT takes it to just short of £500 - Im a pensioner and theres no scenario where I can spare that amount of money for an app. Guess I'm going to get to know Iceland really well then - it really is an awesome hike, well done BitGym ### 2/5 — Na ja *2026-04-14* Wurde als Alternative zu Kinomap installiert. Abo abgeschlossen und letztlich doch nicht die Erwartungen erfüllt. Viele Videos sind meiner Meinung nach mehr für das Laufband und bis auf ein paar wenige aber gute Videos, zum Radfahren geeignet. Die Videos in sehr guter Qualität mit teilweise sehr informativen Beiträgen. Vielleicht kommen ja im laufe eines Jahres noch ein paar erweiterte Videos dazu. Trotzdem ein paar Sterne. Die Qualität ist gut und für den Lauf- Wasser - und Radfahrer , mit Sicherheit eine sehr gute Wahl. Update nach gut 2 Monaten Leider , leider nicht mehr zufrieden. Viele der Videos scheinen KI generiert. Es wird durch Menschen, Gegenstände hindurchgefahren, was den Schluss zulässt, dass die Aufnahmen nicht echt sind. Habe einige Touren auf YouTube verglichen und da bewege ich mich als Radfahrer auf echten Touren. Das Abo wird auf jeden Fall gekündigt. 14. April 2026. Heute eine Mail bekommen bezüglich der Rezension. Danke für die Info. Wenn BitGym mit einer hoch professionellen Software arbeitet, dann sollte doch der Versuch unternommen werden, eine realistische Tour zu bekommen. Die Aufnahmen sind zu Flüssig! Ruderer fahren übrigens Rückwärts und nicht vorwärts in die Szene Auf einer gängigen online Plattform kann ich Radtouren abfahren die keine Super Filmqualität haben aber sehr authentisch sind. Please figure out the buffering to make airplay better on a TV. Right now it’s very stop and start which is frustrating. ### 3/5 — Could have been great *2026-02-16* The quality of the videos is terrific and I would give that 5 stars. I also like that I can follow along the suggested RPE and manually adjust my treadmill. However I cannot immerse myself in the trails because these are not continuous - rather several sites from a location are stitched together. When it jumps to a new scene it is extremely jarring. As an example, I just did a Vancouver one for 35 minutes- had 6 different sites not even contiguous. Jumps from city to park and back again. I have tried 5 other videos and they all do the same thing. I cancelled my free trail for this reason. That is also the reason I can only give the overall rating of 3 stars despite the high quality of the video. As another aside I don’t like that I can’t search particular locations without just scrolling down a list (I.e. can’t search for Greece let’s say have to go down total list to find any). Most other fitness apps have better search function. ### 2/5 — Je me suis mise au rameur *2026-01-31* A un certain âge refaire du sport est une galère et faire du tapis de course et du rameur est totalement déprimant. Mais aucune gestion de mon tapis Sole TT8. Pas de démarrage, pas de gestion de l’inclinaison, positive ou négative. Voiceover. *2025-09-20* C’est vraiment dommage, car c’est la seule application qui propose des parcours avec un paysage sonore en 360° ou une personne aveugle peut suivre le parcours avec son vélo. Mais le gros problème c’est que l’application est pas du tout compatible avec le lecteur d’écran, Voiceover. J’espère que L’équipe BitGym résoudra ce problème rapidement. My only complaint is that I wish there were more coached cycling tours since I’ve completed them all. But overall VERY GOOD APP! **please add more/new guided rides then I can rate 5 out of 5** ### 4/5 — Display upside down *2025-08-25, version 3.12.02* iPad Pro 1 (2015): Since the Apple updates the display is now upside down in landscape mode. Hahahaha. No idea what they or the app did to change. I think it’s the Apple update tho. I see BITGYM okay, but the globe spins upside down next. Apple native HomeKit acts like it’s a new launch, so I think Apple pushed a security update that has broken the app running at the globe. Can you fix this? It’s how I use the app. Updated: it’s definitely the Apple iPadOS update. Bitgym updated a week ago and I’ve used the app okay since then until today after Apple’s updates everywhere. Hope it gets fixed. ALSO, APPLE is automatically taking a screenshot every single time. I’m deleting it with my iPhone AFTER it goes to iCloud. Apple definitely is responsible. It’s like the worst gimmick to get me to remove this device because it’s 10 years old. I have other gadgets, but I’m not replacing this one. I don’t see other apps flipping the screen upside down. Apple’s system knows I use this app on this device and it’s making me hate Apple right now. ### 4/5 — Good! If only could disable coaching *2025-08-24, version 3.12.02* I like the overall quality very much. It would be 5-star if you could disable coaching & allow nature sounds on those workouts . Ideally the coaching video as well, but even just substituting nature sounds for coach-speak would be good. Viel Spaß beim Training! ### 5/5 — I LIKE it! *2025-05-07* Getting bored looking at the wall while I’m sweating it out on my old Schwinn recumbent, so I tried Fitness+. Meh. Onscreen stats are cool, but the urban warehouse/gym with trainers yelling at me constantly isn’t my thing. Peloton app looks to be more of the same. Tried BitGym - NOW we’re talking! I miss my Apple Watch stats, but riding through virtual outdoor locations with only occasional trainer prompts (which are sometimes actually helpful) is right up my alley. I was skeptical about the app getting my rpm’s via the iPad camera but SURPRISE! They’re solid and within 1 or 2 rpms of the on-bike readout. I’d give it 4.5 stars - My wishlist: a way to see my Watch stats onscreen, a way to rate individual workouts (just for me) so I could build a list of places to revisit or avoid. ### 5/5 — Have used for 4+ years *2025-04-29, version 3.11.04* I really do love this app and hope it can continue the wat it has. I had gotten up a good walking routine outside but have been dreading the incoming heat because while I have a great treadmill, I despise getting on it. Nothing distracts me enough to where I’m not counting the literal seconds until I can stop. Well, this app changed that!! I placed the treadmill right in front of a 24” tv and get immersed in every walk/hike I do. I also love the facts about the area thrown in. Well worth the cost and I look forward to it daily! Only thing I would add is being able to have favorite ones I can access easily and also being able to sort by time/type. The first ride I took was around Paris and tried half the ride. Since then all the rides I have tried have completely frozen my devices, one after only 1 1/2 mins! My tablet is playing the sounds but no movement and it won’t close! Sadly if I can close my tablet I will be removing the app and looking for a different one. It just works. The only improvement I could suggest would be some sort of streak or cumulative points counter to reward frequent use. I can use it with treadmill or rebounder at home, and on holiday have sometimes just jogged on the spot! At the gym I just balance a phone or iPad in front of me on any equipment. You can ignore the rest except to demonstrate that I have been loving this app for years and it keeps getting better! [previous reviews … The app still works best for me if I download rather than stream, but that is my awful broadband! Also, the company response was great and they offered me a beta version that would download on 3G. So I am a happy bunny! I love this app. I would buy an ipad just to use Bitgym. Previous review: I was upset when I updated and it lost the 10 tracks I had downloaded to my vault as it will not download on cellular data and our broadband is so slow and flakey that downloads always timed out and streaming just didn't work. I worked round this by downloading 10 tracks on holiday while staying in a place with excellent wifi so I was devastated to lose them. However, I got excellent help from the team who offered me a beta version with cellular download and then also found that I didn't need it - they have made the download/streaming a lot slicker somehow so it works even with my steam-powered internet. The new version has some features that I love as well as some I hate (in an app that tries to make virtual exercise like reality, why introduce google glass style graphics that turn it back into a computer screen experience?) but overall it is clearly improved. So do upgrade, but be aware of the need to re- load tracks if you rely on the vault for use at the gym etc. also, there is another upgrade out - it would be great if the blurb could state whether or not existing downloads will persist. Thanks!! Original review: I'm giving this 5 stars even though I'm sure they will be improving it in various ways in the future, because this is just a killer app as far as I'm concerned. This is what computers should do. I can't believe how accurate it gets my RPM - spot on by the exercise bike's read out. I have always found using an exercise bike very boring, but the last two evenings I have gone way beyond the time I intended, just because I wanted to see what was round the next corner and get to the end of the trail. I haven't tried it on the treadmill yet. I think we've got a bit spoiled by expecting every app to cost 69p. Remember when Palm Pilot program's were £30 for not very much? My preference, I think, in an ideal world would be to have a pay-per-trail like in the virtual active app, only less, maybe 2.50. I'd probably buy a new one every week, so I'd actually pay more than the monthly thing, but maybe have some months when I would just repeat stuff. But hey, this app has transformed a used ebay bike purchase into a state of the art interactive machine! I could pay the monthly sub for years before I ended up paying what another reviewer paid for his iFit bike! I'm truly in awe of this app, and I really hope development continues and new tracks keep coming.
