### 2/5 — my bitcoin

*2026-06-14, version 2026.10.0*

jersy

### 4/5 — Fine start but much to improve

*2026-01-02*

The existing “utxo management” is a bit misleading. True utxo management would allow you to lock/tag specific utxo’s. I really can’t see this as a serious wallet until available.

### 4/5 — Great app. But buggy.

*2025-07-31*

The app is great. I love the simplicity and the minimalist feel and look to it. Unfortunately, mine keeps on bugging out. The toggles don’t work on some of the settings, it does not allow me to generate more than one receive address, or I have to close out of the app and reload it in order to generate another one. Thought it would be better with Jack Dorsey at the helm of this. Overall fantastic app, just need to fix the bugs and make it smooth.

### 5/5 — Excellent value proposition

*2025-07-15*

Love that it has inheritance, utxo consolidation, auto generation of addresses, daily spend, etc honestly no other device offers as much value and ease of use.

My only recommendation would be to somehow improve the emergency exit plan to enable users to extract a seed phrase and go single sig if they so choose. Not sure why anyone would want to but it would eliminate all the naysayers

### 4/5 — Thoughts on Emergency Kit

*2025-07-03, version 2025.12.0*

This is the first review I’ve ever written on the App Store. Loving the app so far! I’ve been investing in Bitcoin since 2016. Transferred half of my holdings to the app after receiving my Bitkey hardware device today. I’m curious about one thing though: the Emergency Kit file saved to iCloud. I opened the file just to get an idea of what the Kit could do for me. The first thing I noticed in the first paragraph was, “If you ever need to recover without the Bitkey app, you’ll need: this document, your Bitkey hardware device, and an NFC enabled ***Android*** phone”. It should go without saying… I have an ***iPhone***. How does this Emergency Kit benefit me? Ultimately, I know I’ve been a very responsible handler of my Bitcoin over the years but just wanted to know how I’m supposed to use the Emergency Kit if it’s specific to Android users. Looking forward to a response!

### 5/5 — Spettacolare

*2025-06-26, version 2025.11.0*

Eliminato lo stess e il rischio della custodia della seed phrase , semplicità ai massimi livelli

### 5/5 — Please add translation!

*2025-06-21*

I really appreciate the product for its ease of use. However, the lack of translations is hindering the onboarding process for many users—especially those from the older generation. In an age of AI, adding localization should be both feasible and a priority.

### 5/5 — I like it so far

*2025-05-07*

I have used many hardware wallets in the past. Most are easy for me to understand and use but very difficult for my wife and kids who don’t study Bitcoin as I do. I feel like there are a couple trade offs with privacy but I know they are trying to address this. I like the roadmap and am excited for the future of Bitkey. Keep up the good work.

### 5/5 — Amazing Bitcoin Wallet!

*2025-04-26*

Bitkey made everything so simple for setting up and purchasing Bitcoin. All the features packed within the app allow you to take your Bitcoin savings to no limit. The big bonus is not needing the long seed phase to access your Bitcoin and even has a backup if anything happens. One thing I would like to see maybe a live chart or faster updates of BTC price. 5 stars

### 5/5 — Great Simple Wallet

*2025-03-19, version 2025.2.0*

This is a great wallet for someone who just wants to keep it simple.

### 4/5 — Inheritance feature has a bug

*2025-03-01*

So far I really like Bitkey and it’s been way easier to use than other hardware wallets (I’m looking at you Ledger). However the new inheritance feature has a bug. When I click “Continue” to setup inheritance it takes me to the “How it works” page and there are no other buttons available to click other than the previous page button in the top left. So I’m essentially stuck in a loop. I understand bugs are going to happen but it makes me a bit nervous in an app that is protecting my BTC. Thanks.

### 5/5 — Please support more languages

*2025-02-27*

The wallet is great and I’m trying to convert as much people I know from the cryptocurrency world into this wallet however, the app being only in English it’s a barrier that’s very important for the circle. I’m trying to change.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Hardware Failed AVOID!

*2026-01-27, version 2026.0.0*

The hardware failed. Support was useless. Would have been better off using anything but Bitkey. If you want to protect your crypto assets, AVOID Bitkey.

### 1/5 — Bitkey app inaccessible

*2025-11-18, version 2025.21.0*

I attempted to access bitkey app, and my wife tried here too… and we are both stuck on a black screen with only the Bitkey logo. I have 1 star not because I think Bitkey is bad but because this is unacceptable.

### 1/5 — could not send my money

*2025-09-12, version 2025.17.0*

the app keeps giving the error below and so far I’m unable to send my money out of bitkey.

Here is the error:

“We couldn't send this transaction.
We are looking into this. Please try again later.”

Who is looking into this? It’s my money! Why can’t I send my money? Who is we???????

### 1/5 — Labelling

*2025-08-19*

Very disappointed that I can’t label my individual transactions so that I know who it came from or what it was for. Filing of activity is much less advanced than Trezor. Of course you do dispense with the seed phrase which is great but instead sacrifice the organisational structure of seed phrase wallets. Boo

### 1/5 — Can’t open the app

*2025-08-09, version 2025.14.1*

Used to be able to and set it all up but now when I open the app it closes before even showing anything. There is currently no update either? Feels like I’m completely locked out of my crypto

### 1/5 — Bugs

*2025-07-20, version 2025.13.1*

I can’t get it to set up with fingerprint Debbie

### 1/5 — Bitkey won’t let me buy from the Bitkey app

*2025-03-16*

Bitkey won’t recognise my Coinbase login details, it just keeps asking me to verify my account. I have already done this 3 times. I can log into my Coinbase account on the Coinbase app and it’s all good on that end. Not too impressed because I can’t buy bitcoin directly to my Bitkey.

### 1/5 — Bad

*2025-03-13, version 2025.1.1*

Not good

### 1/5 — App is up to date and will not open

*2025-01-24, version 2024.75.3*

Immediately closes the app when I open it.

### 1/5 — Crashing won’t stay open

*2024-11-16*

App keeps crashing new issue today morning after Tyson fight

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Finally, self-custody that feels simple and secure

*2026-08-15*

I’ve been looking for an easy way to take my Bitcoin off exchanges without dealing with seed phrases and complicated setups, and Bitkey delivers. Setup took just a few minutes—download the app, pair the hardware with a quick NFC tap, and you’re good to go. The interface is clean, intuitive, and really well designed.
What I love most is the 2-of-3 multisig approach. Having keys split between my phone, the hardware device, and the recovery system gives real peace of mind. Losing my phone or the device doesn’t mean losing access, and there’s no stressful seed phrase to hide or worry about. The mobile spending limit is perfect for everyday use, while larger transactions still require the hardware for extra security.
Fingerprint access is seamless, recovery options feel thoughtful, and the inheritance feature is a nice touch for long-term peace of mind. It’s clearly built for people who want genuine self-custody without the steep learning curve of traditional hardware wallets.
Highly recommend if you’re ready to hold your own Bitcoin the smart way. Great job, Block team!

### 5/5 — Best self-custody ever!

*2026-08-08, version 2026.11.0*

Bitkey is much easier to use than anything else on the marketplace. Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Love it

*2026-08-07, version 2026.11.0*

Very simple and safe.

### 5/5 — GREAT SUPPORT

*2026-05-26*

If your NFC is a success you must keep the device away from your phone in order to connect to network without an error when restoring the wallet. Thanks a lot to support I had no idea and they were supper helpful, definitely recommend this wallet!

### 5/5 — Plea delete this

*2026-04-26, version 2026.7.0*

Please delete this

### 5/5 — Does what they advertise

*2026-01-15*

I bought a Bitkey even though I own more than one Coldcard hardware wallet — which I still consider the best possible choice for a serious Bitcoiner. I was seeking an alternate system for my wife to more easily access bitcoin she has purchased on her own. I want her to keep full independence but she is challenged by using a Mk 4 Coldcard and Sparrow where you do a lot of microSD card inserting and the steps are very specific. It is still the gold standard, I believe, so I thought to cure the problem with a Coldcard Q. It's a huge improvement over the Mk 4 but is still challenging for her, so…

What I am now doing is moving her BTC from an exchange after she buys it into a Coldcard Q wallet with her name on it. Then I send funds to her Bitkey, which she can subsequently spend far more easily using her Strike account. IMHO, this is the best combo I've found to make life easy for her and yet keep cold storage security.

Thanks, Bitkey! I am keeping the one I bought to learn and test and because I like using it and I want to stay informed, but I happily bought another one for her.

### 5/5 — Clean app, nice UI, easy to set up

*2025-11-29*

Not much to complain about. The app is minimalist without compromising on security.

It’s 2/3 multisig at the end of the day, and a significant step up over holding bitcoin with an exchange or even single self-custody hot wallet.

Nice app!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2025-11-05*

I would really prefer to hide the security hub tab bar like it wasn’t there before on the previous app versions so please give us a choice on that. Other than that, I have no complaints!

### 5/5 — Love my bitkey

*2025-11-02*

Love my bitkey. I think others have mentioned it, but I think LDK should be integrated. Would love to not need to move funds outside of my bitkey if I wanted to spend. Lightning would be nice to have.

### 5/5 — Great Self Custody Option

*2025-10-14*

I love this self custody wallet. It’s secure and easy to use. I’ve had it since December 2024 and so glad I got it. I recommend it to everyone i know in the bitcoin community.
