I hope they are able to get wider range of rewards, however, as the handful of brands now on the app are or limited use to me. I’ve been able to link my accounts with a good amount of ease and I’m excited to earn my first amount of stock! So I downloaded the app and connected to my bank account and started spending. Every time I bought something a fraction of driffent stocks got deposited into my account. Since the moment I saw how it was designed. It links cards with no difficulty and picks up transactions fast. The only problem I have with it is the UI as it doesn’t feel fluid or modern. This really makes it easy to make every possible purchase count. I am glad this app makes stock ownership more accessible to the public. ### 4/5 — A few bugs but not bad *2021-04-21, version 3.7* I’ve been using Bits of Stock for a little over a year and so far the app has not been bad. There have been a few bugs where purchases are not automatically recognized for rewards but for the most part they’ve been resolved quickly. One item of note is that I just received an email from BoS today, 21APR, advertising a reward for submitting a review but it stated that the reviews had to be submitted by 16APR. $BoS:SeaSto ### 5/5 — Like it so far *2021-04-21, version 3.7* I like the app so far. I have connected my bank accounts which was very easy. Now I just wait to see how the stock back flows in! The rewards are very very small but if you would normally shop at those locations anyway, you might as well take advantage of the free stock. Now, the number of stores has been reduced and I haven’t earned any stock back in months. I’ll keep the app around to see when they add new stock-back options. $BoS:MicBro ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Nope nothing going - Update 2023 *2023-06-30* I just installed the app and got set up, however, it says automatic stock back is still “coming soon”. This was the primary reason I downloaded the app. There is no area, that I have found, to link my credit cards and/or bank accounts. I see other reviews talking about the ability to do this so not sure if I’m missing something or not. I’ll update if I’m able to get it all working. Otherwise there is definitely potential. Update: September 17th I made my first purchase. I’m still waiting on the stock back to post. I know it says it can take up to 75 days to show, but when other apps can have their bits post in under two weeks, makes me wonder if this was just too good to be true. Also, it says I’m ranked #1 to get access to the brokerage account which opens up auto stock back. Been that way for about two+ weeks and still waiting. Update:2 After using Buts for a while now I have to say they’ve upgraded and it’s better than where it was. There is still work that needs to be done to make it perfect, but for what it’s grown too I think they’ve done great. They’re also very good at responding to questions and issues. Normally within a day or two. Which is faster than most others. $BoS:AdaKor Update 2023: app has stopped working. Unable to withdraw funds. Stay away. We are happy to hear that you like the new updates so far! ### 1/5 — Needs update *2023-04-04* I have used the app for almost a year, and it is a great concept. The only problem is that in order to actually get the stocks you have to open a brokerage account through the app. I have tried since day one to open one, I go through all the steps and at the very end I submit and it says something went wrong. I have contacted them and they say it is the brokerage that that is having the problem. Well it hasn’t been fixed in over 6 months. I tried again today and it is the same. Maybe get a new brokerage. Or allow us to connect our own. ### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time. This app is horrible! *2022-09-27, version 3.19.4* I have had nothing but problems with this app. My cards will not stay linked. I’ve had to contact their customer support multiple times in the past to relink my card and have my rewards added to my balance. The app never pulls down the information for my card even when it was properly linked. I’d still have to contact support in order to get the transactions downloaded so my rewards could be added. Now when I try to relink my card it says that the credentials entered do not match. I literally went to my credit card app and manually entered the EXACT SAME login credentials and it logged me in on the credit card’s native app, I went back into Bits of Stock’s app and input the credentials EXACTLY THE SAME and got the same response that my login credentials were not recognized! This app is horrible at what it attempts to do. It is complete garbage. I have had the app now for several months in order to give it the benefit of the doubt in the hopes that they would get their bugs sorted out but after so many failures (this is at least the 10th time I’ve had problems with the app) as a result I will be leaving a 1 star review, deleting the app and closing this account (actually have had to contact support again to even try to get the stocks sold and my money cashed out, and most likely won’t even get the money owed to me). If you are considering this app as a way to earn some stock rewards don’t waste your time. ### 2/5 — Eigh could be better *2021-04-01, version 3.6* $BoS:DavBer This app was much better two versions ago. It he best app in this category is one you connect your card, and that’s it. Everything should be done in background, passively. This app has potential but with only a couple of stocks, it’s not worth connecting your accounts. If more places were available for automatic stock this app would be killer. Till then, mediocre at best. ### 3/5 — Good idea, not enough companies *2021-04-21, version 3.7* Let me start off by saying that this app is an absolutely brilliant idea. The app itself is both simple and slick. The problem is there are very few companies participating. Unless you happen to do a lot of business with some of these very few companies, this will not help you in anyway. Hopefully they are going to expand the list to a much broader selection. Until then I will be hanging out in the wings waiting. I have received quite a bit of stock back in rewards. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because there are some bugs when trying to claim a reward. It has worked every time for me, it just takes a long time to be completed. Developers are responsive when I reach out and are very helpful. **Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback. My problem is lately I keep getting notifications that my account has come unlinked. SUCH a pain! Takes a few days for the rewards to process, but that doesn’t matter much. Has a lot of major stores/brands, I’m excited to see more brands added in the future! This app is definitely a plus, free stock for purchases I would make anyways, is great! $BoS:NatOne ### 4/5 — Good Idea *2021-04-21, version 3.7* Bits Of Stock is a great way to earn stock with purchases, but the app is kind of buggy and does not really tell you much about how rewards work, how to withdraw them, or basic info you’d expect to be able to find in app. It’s easy enough to figure out, and they seem to be making steps to make it better. Still- great idea. I’ve made over $350 in stock just by using the app, which is very nice. I got $3 for writing this review. It’s actually really impressive, and I’m glad I stuck with it. Kudos to the developers for listening to feedback and working so hard to improve everything. ### 5/5 — Fun, Easy Program *2021-09-10, version 3.11.0* Had this app for over a year and everything has been great! The setup was simple and then you can just leave it in the background as you collect rewards for shopping on things you’d buy anyways. I alway like getting the information updates/new promotions, but have never felt like they send too many emails. Great idea and fun to track. **Developer response:** Thank you for the review! ### 5/5 — Great Source of Free Stock *2021-08-13, version 3.10.2* This app works exactly as it says - you put in your card info and it will automatically scan your transactions and reward you with a small amount (usually 1% or .5%) of stock based on them! It’s not much, but it adds up over time, particularly if you frequent the same stores and if you get it on top of the regular cash back from your credit card. So the upside: free money! The only downside is that the card linking doesn’t always work perfectly (which is true with any app like this) so you need to sometimes re-authorize your cards. No, it’s not a quick way to build a nice nest egg but over time, your account can really grow because we as consumers are always shopping! Please give it a try! You won’t regret it!
