However, when I did, I still couldn’t find the games. Eventually I did and it wasn’t what I wanted. I have contacted the company several times via email and have heard nothing back, for over a month. I want to cancel my subscription. I don’t use it. I just redownloaded it to figure out how to cancel the yearly membership before I forget and it renews, and my profile isn’t there, just the guest profile. I don’t have to pro version, so maybe that’s why it does funny things. I would like to be able to put two pics on 1 slide. Is that possible? Moving pics around in the editor is very troublesome. The font is hard for my ESL learners to read. I can’t figure out how to change it. These things should be easy to do. The variety of games that allow you to custom teach/test a block of material in different ways is fantastic. The cost to potential benefit of this app is very reasonable. After spending many hours sorting through all the classes and boards and devising a learning strategy that was producing great results, I was very disappointed to find the app crashing every time I attempted to review his stats. Activities are just fantastic, there is something for everybody. The app give you liberty to create your own activities. Doing so is a bit complicated and takes a lot of time but the effects is specially tailored activities. It is a good app tailored for everybody but extremely time consuming in creating tailored board . Again visually I preferred previous version. Pictures are to small. I appreciate the time they put into to making a fun and engaging platform for students and teachers. It makes planning for sessions easy and fun. I’ve been looking for a platform to allow me to make interactive games like this, but have been spending/wasting time. This app is spot on everything I need. Now it’s got a new model and it’s 99p a month. Are people who already bought it exempt from paying again? No, you pay just like everyone who paid nothing for free version. None of the boards ported in from the previous version will go away, the delete button asks me how many more I want - none, my now teenage daughter doesn’t need primary maths now. I bought this on lifetime license, it should be mine. ### 1/5 — Do NOT buy to create your own tests *2020-02-04, version 37.3.1* I suppose if you are looking for pre selected lists this may be helpful. Or if the only words you need to study are basic K-2 This is the only way I can imagine the amount of positive reviews it has received. Trying to study for your spelling list at school or creat your own is a disaster of time suckage. In theory, to add words specific to you or your child, add a picture, add a description and have a test plus games would be amazing! In reality you will add words, pictures and boards just to find that they disappear. I have spent hours trying to create lists only to have them revert back to empty or the default (bizarre) picture. The app crashes every 15 min or so and locks up periodically. Trust me I have tried everything! Like I said, if it worked it would be great! Unfortunately the program is just not there. This goes for all Bitsboard apps, I have tried several in past years, upgraded to PRO several times to no avail. Don’t do what my family did, we wasted many hours and money. Tried again this week (2/2/20) to set up a board, spent at least 2 hrs, only to have the board disappear then reappear with half the words and back to the “default” pictures. Also on several games the audio does not work. ### 1/5 — Works Poorly, If At All *2019-11-21, version 37.2.2* My time with Bitsboard has been less than exemplary. The search functions for the internet result in poor and sometimes inexplicable results. The pictures are often out of frame or blurry. The app has recently started to black out parts of text and fail to load others, resulting in an inability to read anything short of squinting at the screen. And this is after having purchased the full version. Please, PLEASE fire the people in charge of programming and hire someone useful. A lot of this stuff seems pretty basic. ### 1/5 — Very buggy and slow to not usable *2019-06-27, version 36.9.3* Used to be an okay app, with a good idea and mediocre app design and programming. But recent upgrade yielded this app to be near unusable in my iPhone X, as well as other iPads. It’s super slow now, some images will not load, and flashes out when running. She gets flash cards from school but it’s boring. Kids these days are on tablets, so this will be a fun way for her to revise her words. Appreciate the games incorporated. The many different games for reviewing words alphabets is one of the best features of this app. Great job, developers! Keep up the good work! Couldn’t cope with the boring textbook. I love the immediate feedback after every answer, and reinforcing auditory feedback only after the correct answer. I love the large size of the buttons... this makes it easy for students with fine motor difficulties. It is so easy to create boards with my targeted words. I’m a BCBA working with children with special needs. They love this app and actually prefer it to other programming. The settings allow to change sounds, the array, the pictures are a great quality and you can always add your own. The range of games allows for generalization and multiplayer functions. I highly recommend this as a way to support VB MAPP programming for LR, tact, echoics, etc. And to support any existing programming. A web-based model would be ideal for those not on iOS. ### 5/5 — Perfect Resource for Speech & Language Therapists *2021-03-01, version 38.4* The Bitsboard Pro App has absolutely transformed my therapy provision for children with phonological, language and social communication disorders. I can create boards as and when I need them, which with the Cycles Phonological Approach, is on a weekly basis. I have created boards to work on receptive and expressive language at a SV, SVO, SVOA(place) level etc., adding extra pictures every month to retain the children's interest. This app is so much cheaper, flexible and clinically effective than any set of pictures I have ever purchased. If your child has a communication device because their nonverbal, you can use this to help teach the icons for words. I also homeschool my daughter who is atypical and this is very helpful with some aspects of her homeschooling. This is one of the best educational apps I’ve found for children with special needs.
