### 3/5 — Good app but

*2021-08-22, version 7.0.14*

It's a good app however I don't like the fact you can't have paid content offline. As my work involves a lot of travelling it would be good to be able to download and save videos for watching when out of WiFi or cellular data coverage.
If Devs decide to do this then app would be worth 5 stars

### 5/5 — Outstanding content in a streamlined application

*2020-01-22, version 6.2*

I have been extremely happy with Stephan Kesting’s instructional content offered online and through this application.

Within the application, skills and concepts are broken down into bite-size chunks that are well organized and offer a comprehensive, cumulative approach to the topics. This makes it easy to pull up the application before practice to get a quick review of details without having to wade through hours of recorded video or all the YouTube tabs left open on my phone - it also saves me from carrying my DVD player around.
While Stephan brings in world-class experts to teach each series (Fabio Gurgel to teach pressure passing, for example), one of my favorite things about the videos is that, after each lesson, Stephan asks all the questions that would occur to someone watching the videos and further breaks down the minutiae of each lesson.
Overall, I would say that the attention to detail in the instructionals - along with the organization and accessibility provided by the application - has helped me diversify my skillset and become a more effective practitioner on the mats.
10/10: would recommend to anyone looking to polish their Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

### 5/5 — Great instructor, great content

*2020-01-08, version 6.2*

Stephan is an outstanding instructor. More intellectual than your average BJJ gorilla, but also doesn’t require a protractor and thesaurus like Danaher. Great blend of charisma, profound knowledge and an easy-to-digest teaching style. The app has a nice balance of free content and paid content—you sort of know when you’re to fork over a few bucks for a paid module, each of which as a ton of great stuff. Stephan also brings along some great guest instructors (I highly recommend his BJJ formula module with Rob Biernacki—I could (and probably will) chew on just that content for years). All of Stephan’s Grapplearts work is top notch, and an outstanding supplement to your regular training. Oss!

### 5/5 — Worth every Pennie

*2019-12-30, version 6.2*

Their are allot of apps but this ONE is by far the most detailed yet simplistic explanations and breakdowns of positions. It will totally help your overall game from top dominate to leg lock specialist. Highly recommend for all levels

### 5/5 — A must have for all BJJ practitioners

*2019-11-27, version 6.1*

Stephan Kesting has shared his encyclopedic knowledge of BJJ in a manner that is systematic and easy to learn.

### 5/5 — Best BJJ/grappling app around

*2019-11-27, version 6.1*

Stephan’s instructionals are both excellent in quality and clarity. In particular I recommend to all my fellow BJJ practitioner to buy the Rob Biernacki BJJ Formula. It will not only be informative in and of itself, but also it will level up your use of any other BJJ instructionals, you’ll get more out of free YouTube instructions and out of all your other purchased BJJ sources.

### 5/5 — Top tier instruction!!

*2019-11-13, version 6.1*

I have been following Stephens work for at least 5 years now and he has assembled some of the hands down best BJJ instructors from North America and Brazil to teach on his app all excellent content and excellent customer service !!!

### 5/5 — Great app. Great content

*2019-08-11, version 6.1*

Stephan’s instructions are always very clear and easy to understand. The production quality is excellent and the app is well designed. Stephan is a talented instructor who knows BJJ and knows how to explain it and demonstrate it. I have no affiliation with him. I just really appreciate the quality of the content he puts out online.

### 5/5 — Best Resource in BJJ

*2019-02-28, version 3.2*

I have used Gracie university, this App, and many other apps on the App Store. There is no doubt that this is the absolute best! The customer service is amazing! The instructors are wonderful. The content is frankly, overwhelming. If you don’t know anything about BJJ, I would highly recommend going step by step through Gracie University or study under a good instructor. Stephan’s roadmap of BJJ (free) is also essential reading. However, if you are further in your BJJ journey, there is absolutely no better resource than this! Thanks Stephan for all you do for the community!

### 5/5 — Top Notch

*2019-02-19, version 3.2*

Exceptional instructional by a very dedicated practitioner!

### 4/5 — Make a Free module

*2019-01-30, version 3.0*

Please make a free module where there is a couple submissions, sweeps, guard passes and other things.

### 5/5 — Intuitive, easy to use app

*2019-01-29, version 3.0*

I have several Grapple Arts products and use this app regularly. Easy to use, intuitive, and organized.

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2018-11-26, version 1.11*

As a BJJ rookie, this app is pure gold! Everything is broken down and made easy to understand. I went all in and got everything so I have ready access to any of the concepts as I progress at my school. Not gonna lie. I did take a couple of random sneak peeks at more advanced modules. Such awesome content! I can’t wait to get proficient in everything presented (and it IS very extensive)! As the younger folks say these days, this app is 🔥🔥! Also, shout out to great customer support for swiftly addressing a minor concern.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Great product BUT DO NOT BUY!

*2025-09-29, version 33.0.0*

Amazing instructionals and great quality productions with great eye for detail on all of the techniques so I spent hundreds of pounds on several courses which even very costly I thought was a great investment in my long-term BJJ progress… I WAS VERY WRONG!! Since they upgraded the app I have lost access to the volumes I had purchased, I tried to contact customer services and even Stephan on his gmail account. Sadly I have been ignored and my hard earned cash looks line has gone up in smoke…

### 1/5 — Apps not functioning

*2025-09-08, version 29.0.0*

The App doesn’t seem to to offer much functionality as there are no previously purchased apps loaded in, no option to restore the purchases and no option to buy anything else. Whats the point in the app if it doesn’t do anything?

### 1/5 — Useless App. Wish it didn't exist

*2025-07-23, version 27.0.0*

I have a number of Grapplearts apps, but absolutely CANNOT get them onto this 'All in one' app. Ended up giving up and just use the apps as standalone instead. Good idea, but poorly executed.

### 1/5 — Apps not functioning

*2025-03-27, version 19.0.0*

The App doesn’t seem to to offer much functionality as there are no previously purchased apps loaded in, no option to restore the purchases and no option to buy anything else. Whats the point in the app if it doesn’t do anything?

### 1/5 — Used to be great.

*2025-02-19, version 8.0*

Ever since the upgrade, I can’t get all my purchases to show on the app. I can access them on the Grapplearts website, but that’s a hassle compared to one click to open the app and another to open the purchases . I have contacted them several times, but still no change.

### 1/5 — Bummer

*2022-01-07, version 7.0.14*

Bummer

### 1/5 — No free videos

*2018-09-23, version 1.11*

On the YouTube video on Stephan Kestons channel he said that there are completely free in app videos but I can’t find them. Whenever I tap on a bkk category it says I have to pay for it. A bit of false advertisement.

### 2/5 — Can’t restore purchases.

*2025-08-30, version 29.0.0*

Bought some in app videos several years ago, but updated my phone and the app and unable to restore the purchase. I’ve tried to message them via email and phone and no response.

### 2/5 — Buyer Beware!

*2018-06-06, version 1.6*

I thought that by paying the $50 cost to buy the entire package, that that would unlock all the app content in the series. It DOES NOT! It only unlocks a single series for that price. The content isn’t bad, but it’s exorbitantly overpriced for what it is. For the $50 it really should unlock ALL the series with that app.

### 2/5 — Not free

*2018-05-12, version 1.3*

The app is......

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great material and support

*2025-11-14, version 34.0.0*

Lost in app purchases during the last update. Used the support text message number from the website and they straightened it out.

### 5/5 — App vs website

*2023-02-19, version 7.0.22*

I enjoy Stephen Kestings videos. I particularly like the fact that he invites other instructors in to help out with the videos and I think they’re a good value for money.

My biggest problem is that you buy one video and if you try to restore your purchase on your iPhone or your iPad it won’t download. Fortunately, customer service has been very helpful. I’m hoping that at some point it will just be easier to purchase the content and it applies to all of the platforms but for now if you’re going to buy something and want it on your iPhone, I recommend that you just purchase it through the app. Regardless, I think the company really cares about its customers so it’s worth five stars in my book.

### 5/5 — Grapplearts

*2022-11-10, version 7.0.22*

Stephan is a great instructor. You can really learn a lot of practical, actionable stuff from the courses and materials accessible through this app.

### 5/5 — Excellent Instruction

*2022-11-10, version 7.0.22*

If you have been watching Stephan’s videos on YouTube, you would love his content here as there is a large variety of instructionals available and he dives even more in-depth into techniques and their details. The support provided by their customer support team has also been great!

### 5/5 — Good instructional

*2022-06-12, version 7.0.22*

Good support service, nice contents and good layout on the video.

### 5/5 — Detailed, well paced instruction that’s crunchy

*2021-10-12, version 7.0.14*

Stephan Kesting’s instructional style really pops in this app. He presents a useful blend of techniques across different instructors and approaches to the mental and physical game of jiu-jitsu. There is enough here for novices and higher belts to study and use on the mat.

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2021-10-11*

Absolutely love this app, found it so very useful. Being able to easily download small modules, rather than an overall video, is much more practicable for watching content on the go.

### 5/5 — This is an incredible app!!

*2021-09-19, version 7.0.14*

I’ve long been a fan of Stephen’s YouTube tutorials. His mastery of the sport makes his explanations of all the key details so clear for the beginner to the advanced grappler alike. The app is well organised and so easy to use. I can’t recommend this enough for those looking to accelerate their progress.

### 5/5 — Awesome instruction!

*2020-05-17, version 6.6.10*

Great teacher. Simple, easy to follow. Straight to the point.

### 5/5 — You can trust Stephan

*2020-03-09, version 6.4*

I’ve been watching Stephan’s YouTube channel for a while, but wasn’t sure about paying for courses. But I’m so glad I did! I’m now on my third course and each one has been thorough and well-organized. Stephan is a gifted teacher and excellent course creator. Recommended!
