### 5/5 — A great deal.

*2024-01-25, version 1.3*

The amount of information you can get from this app is insane! The way it helps understand the flow and progression of Jiu jitsu is top tier.

### 5/5 — Impressed so far!

*2024-01-21*

I’ve used Max’s flowcharts before so I’m familiar with how he organizes John Danaher and Gordon Ryan’s BJJ techniques.

Recently I thought I’d try his app out. So far I’m impressed- this is how my mind works!

**Developer response:** Thank you so much!

### 5/5 — So far I’m impressed!

*2024-01-06*

I’ve just been learning from the fundamentals free course and so far it’s perfect for me. I will think about the lifetime membership when I’m ready for more. Love the flowcharts!

**Developer response:** Thank you so much Susan!

### 5/5 — The best, “what do I do from here?” bjj blueprint

*2023-12-29, version 1.3*

If you’re new to bjj or feel like you struggle in certain positions, this app is for you. It gives you a game plan on what to do in every positions.

Feel like your side control game needs some work? Here is a blueprint along with videos for each move listed (from multiple angles and grips) to help you build a game plan.

I think of this as my default set of moves. I try xyz from any given position. If it doesn’t work then it might go do some additional research on that position and try to understand it more but most of the time this is going to cover what you need.

Whenever I decide to focus on a new area of bjj for a few months mastering the moves on the position from this app is my first stop.

If your gym doesn’t have a great curriculum and just shows you the move of the week/day, you need this. If you find yourself getting stuck in certain positions when your 1 move doesn’t work, you need this.

The only area that could really use some additional detail is the leg lock section. It’s not bad by any means but it isn’t as expansive or details as you might expect with leg locks being such a huge focus in modern bjj.

That being said, I think everyone who want to progress their bjj should have this app. The consistency is better than trying to YouTube moves when you want to learn something new. The level of detail gives you a plan and an overview and doesn’t take 6-40 hours like an instructional.

5 stars.

### 5/5 — Great BJJ help found here

*2023-09-30*

The content on this app is set up in a very accessible way. Navigating through is straightforward. The videos and the paired flowcharts make it so you can quickly understand how the movements are all connected together. I’m on the newer end to the BJJ world. This app has been very helpful to and aided in improving my jiu-jitsu knowledge, skills, and abilities. Also, they are always adding new moves to the app making the value of it ever increasing. Fully recommend it!

**Developer response:** Thank you so much!

### 5/5 — Let’s you see how everything fits together

*2023-09-24*

Max’s app and flowcharts are an absolute game changer. Compressive and detailed quick videos demonstrating the moves. The magic is in the flowcharts - gives you a logical sequence to go through. This app should cost a lot more. It’s not just an encyclopedia of techniques. The flowcharts show how techniques fit together (especially with your opponents reactions) and gives the big picture. I think this is the biggest value. It tracks well with John Danaher and Gordon Ryan’s instructionals. The videos are high quality, annotated, succinct, and show the technique from multiple angles. There are also written summaries for quick reference. It’s an impressive comprehensive reference. Max updates the app every week. He is also very responsive - there is a direct chat in the app with him. Probably the best BJJ investment I have made. My only gripe is that I can’t download the app for when I don’t have cell service. Honestly, I’d prefer other people don’t know about this app - like a secrete weapon - it’s that good.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much Drew!

### 5/5 — Great app- worth the price tag

*2023-09-19*

There are a lot of instructional options for BJJ out there but I would put this one in the upper ranks. It is super organized, contains multiple mediums (video instruction, written notes, and visuals aids), and the developer consistently updates it (every Friday). The videos are not talk laden and detail heavy which some might consider a con but I consider a pro. If you want super in depth and detailed explanations, buy a Danaher or other BJJ athlete instructional. The true utility of this app is to see how all the pieces fit together which it certainly accomplishes and continues to do so. People might balk at the price tag (I did) but it’s about the same as other high priced instructionals or a couple discounted ones and this is continually updated. Or you can do what I did- wait til a special occasion and treat yourself.

**Developer response:** Thank you very much!

### 5/5 — Great product!

*2023-09-12*

I really enjoyed having access to videos and flow charts. I always buy the products from the website but the application allows for quick references to techniques and speeds up the whole drilling planning process.

**Developer response:** Thank you very much

### 5/5 — Very structured & amazing learning tool

*2023-09-10*

I feel that the structure and content of this app is perfect for my style of learning (learning in a systematic fashion). The content covers a broad range of guards/positions/submissions/escapes and the length of the videos are ideal (ie not too short and not too long). Because of this I actually view this app as much more usetul than the other standard instructionals from places such as BJJFanatics. The overviews are also really useful for recapping the key points for each section.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much!

### 5/5 — Incredible app

*2023-09-01*

Was hesitant because of price but this app is the single most helpful study tool I’ve ever come across in jiu jitsu. Cannot recommend enough, it’s the price of a month’s membership at the gym but it has potential to level you up years in your ability.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much!

### 5/5 — Get Better At BJJ - Awesome Tool!

*2023-08-28*

I have been a fan of BJJFlowCharts for a long time. Their flowcharts make it easy to get the most out of instructionals in the shortest time.

I was really excited when they released this app. It is filled with great techniques broken down and strung together in an intuitive way that makes learning them as easy as possible.

I have limited time to train, and this app is a great tool that helps me learn new techniques, fill in gaps in my game, and reinforce things I already know. I highly recommend it if you want to get better at Jiu Jitsu.

### 4/5 — Edit: looking further into it, it seems really cool

*2023-08-24*

I’m a dumb white belt who jumped the gun and read this app low because it was expensive. At least it seems expensive but when I consider it all you’re getting here it’s actually pretty cool. I just need to decide if I’m gonna buy it.

**Developer response:** Actually you have free videos now. Go to FUNDAMENTALS, Chapter Back & Pins Escapes

### 5/5 — Best BJJ instructional for the money out there

*2023-08-23*

I have been a long time fan of this developers BJJ Flowcharts for Gordon Ryan and John Danaher instructional’s. When I saw he was making his own instructional application I was supper excited. This app is truly excellent. From novices to advanced practitioners, this app caters to all skill levels, providing an exceptional learning platform like no other. Let me share with you the many reasons to consider this app for your own jiujitsu journey.

First and foremost, the app offers an extensive library of instructional videos covering a vast range of techniques and concepts. Whether you're a beginner looking for fundamental moves or an experienced practitioner seeking more advanced techniques, this app has you covered. The tutorials are presented in a clear and concise manner, with multiple viewing angles for each move, making it easy to follow along and grasp the intricacies of each move.

One standout feature of this instructional app is its commitment to continuous improvement and updates. The developer had consistently added additional content each weekly. This app was fantastic the day it was released. Now after more than a year of additional content added, it is by far the best value in BJJ instructionals.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for your support, Jesse!

### 5/5 — Amazing Resource

*2023-08-23*

I started doing Jiu Jitsu 15 years ago. I’ve been part of several schools and have been exposed to different teaching methodologies. Some methodologies work better than others in helping students retain knowledge; however, I think there is a universal challenge they all face, which is the lack of a Birds Eye point of view. Connecting the dots between Individual techniques or sequences comes only with time. The app does an incredible job helping you accelerate that process because you can see techniques from a Birds Eye point of view. Jiu-jitsu is similar to putting a puzzle together. In the real world, you see a picture, you are given the pieces, and then you put the puzzle together. However, in Jiu-jitsu, you are given one piece, maybe a few pieces at a time, but you are not shown the overall picture until years later, when the puzzle is almost done. The flow charts and videos are THE Picture!

**Developer response:** That's exactly it. Thank you so much!

### 5/5 — Max BJJ Flow Chart

*2023-08-23*

I highly recommend this app. Excellent breakdown of moves, with slow motion. Also moves are organized in categories, so it is easy to structure and streamline your own lessons. If you want to make quick progress on the mat, buy this app.
Just like algebra, if you do your home work, you will do great on the test. If you learn from Max Flowchart during your time off the mat, you will be significantly better when you go and spar on the mat at school. I give this 5 stars. Top notch. JJ

**Developer response:** Many thanks!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — I cant open my app anymore After buying this.

*2025-11-21, version 2.1.1*

Legit or scam

### 1/5 — $99 to access anything

*2025-03-15, version 2.0*

Never got to try. Hit with the $99 to “unlock the app” of course after collecting your personal info/email. Some kind of trial or monthly option would be nice so see how it’s used and smoothly works. But couldn’t review anything without dropping $99

### 1/5 — False Advertising

*2025-01-28*

Advertising this as an free app, open it, not even 2 sec in: 99€ payment.

### 1/5 — money

*2023-04-24*

why cost so much 🥲

**Developer response:** It's a very fair deal compare to the alternatives, and it's much better!

### 2/5 — Please

*2023-08-15*

Is there anything on the app that I can do for free

### 2/5 — Expensive, and demo gives you back squat

*2023-08-12*

At least consider giving more than just the sample flow. I ain’t paying $150 without seeing more from the app. Hard pass.

**Developer response:** Actually you have free videos now. Go to FUNDAMENTALS, Chapter Back & Pins Escapes

### 2/5 — Payment

*2023-08-08, version 1.1.4*

I don’t understand why it’s 149 usd and they should at least show a video tutorial for free man c’mon

### 2/5 — No sample videos

*2023-02-10, version 1.1.2*

I was hoping to at least get 1-2 sample clips or videos to see how the instructors teach and what quality the videos are shot in. I makes a big difference in learning when you understand and can follow the instructions. Please add a few sample videos or did I miss them somewhere??

### 3/5 — Review

*2024-12-25, version 2.0*

Some of the videos are good but half of them is either wrong technique or completely bull.

### 3/5 — Useless without payment

*2023-08-16*

Make some videos free and and charge a monthly sub of $5-$10 1 extra star for the great concept

**Developer response:** Actually you have free videos now. Go to FUNDAMENTALS, Chapter Back & Pins Escapes

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Comprehensive App

*2025-11-18*

Clearly a lot of time and effort has gone into making this app. Definitely enjoying it so far.

**Developer response:** You have an entire Fundamentals course for free. 139 techniques, 20 FlowCharts. All free. It's everything you need to get from white to blue belt. Enjoy!

### 5/5 — The roadmap I needed!!

*2025-03-31*

I’ve been training for about seven months, just long enough to have tried most of the basic positions/sweeps/submissions once or twice. I thought “hey, maybe I’ll make a flowchart of what I learned”, then I discovered this app had already done it for me, and done a much better job than I would have!! Fantastic graphic design, everything is super clear. This is the roadmap I needed!!!

The videos are some of the best I’ve seen, too. No “bro talk” or advertising, just the same move over and over again from various angles, very clear, slow motion, with callouts on the finer points.

I get home from class, review the flow charts for the positions I was in, and find the holes in my game. Love it!!!

### 5/5 — ？

*2025-02-08, version 2.0*

The author is very kind and eager to solve problems quickly oss！

### 5/5 — A Great Resource

*2024-10-06*

The app is a great supplemental resource for those beginning their journey (definitely amazing for BJJ veterans as well) detailed flow charts, videos teaching correct grips and movements, and the chat to ask things in between. Honestly the price is a drop in the bucket for what is a lifelong commitment to learning a fun martial art.

**Developer response:** Thank you so very much!

### 5/5 — Excellent App

*2024-08-23*

Great app for leaning jiu jitsu with very helpful coaches who are always willing to help. Highly Recommended.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much!

### 5/5 — Simple et Efficace

*2024-08-08*

**Developer response:** Merci beaucoup!

### 5/5 — Best app for BJJ technical instruction

*2024-05-29, version 1.3*

This app is my favorite. Highly recommend.

### 5/5 — A Real Gem

*2024-05-02*

Brilliant app, absolutely no fluff just high percentage techniques that are used by the best instructors, loads of angles and the flow charts just make it easy to understand exactly what to do when. Great buy!

**Developer response:** Thanks a lot Ray!

### 5/5 — Wow!

*2024-04-18, version 1.3*

I genuinely love this app. I love the pace, all the angles it shows, and, of course, the charts! I’m grateful it exists. I wish I could download the videos within the app to watch them offline, but it is no big deal. I recommend this app!

### 5/5 — The best app for BJJ

*2024-04-15*

This app is starting to be such a great helper in improving my rolls. I’m able to break things down and visualize how to make moves from various positions. Some of the things that I learn in class goes over my head and this app helps reiterate the nitty-gritty details that I miss. Been practicing for 6 months and this app is now helping me fill in the gaps I have in my game. I’m sure the next time I roll, I’ll be a bit more calm and think of ways to escape from different positions and even see openings.

Max is also very responsive to my questions. Appreciate the help.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much, Philip! Keep up the great work!
