I use it all the time to checkout and renew my books! The app is clean and camera scanner to check out my books at the library is so efficient, so I don’t have to wait in line at the self-kiosk. I’ve seen reviews mentioning login issues but I haven’t encountered them, the app is smooth for me. Definitely recommend if you use BPL services and support the library! ### 2/5 — KEEPS KICKING ME OUT *2025-06-04, version 1.04* Lately every time I open the app, i’m logged out and need to redo everything. It’s extremely inconvenient and annoying! At first the app worked wondrously but now considering the log in issue, it seems to be malfunctioning. Then when you log in, the other added accounts (my kids accounts) are gone and you have to enter them in again. I keep a thin wallet and often couldn’t indulge in impromptu browse and checkout because i didn’t have my library card with me. The app’s digital checkout solves that. Holds are also easier, as the app dodges browser and cookie issues. This app just stops working entirely after a while. I’ve had to delete and re-download it every month or so since its launch: it becomes slower and slower until it finally stops loading entirely. Delete. Re-download. Rinse and repeat. Also mobile checkout now involves about twenty seconds of buffering per book, which is annoying when you’ve got a big stack. Please fix or bring back the old app! **Developer response:** We understand the frustration and apologize that you're experiencing these issues with our mobile app. This is not a typical experience for our patrons. You can renew, place holds, check out books using your camera. The coolest function is being able to pull up titles in the BPL catalog by scanning a book’s ISBN barcode with your camera. Great way to place a hold on that $36 hardcover you come across at a bookstore! The new version lets you track your ebooks as well, which is a game changer. I can now place holds and check out ebooks in the same app. Incredible.
