## What is Blabby?

Blabby is a text-to-speech app designed to be a joy to use.

What you type is read out loud in real time, word by word, so your conversation partners don’t have to wait for you to type the entire sentence.

And there’s no need to type the same things over and over! Commonly used phrases can be saved as Quick Presets for one-tap access, or to the Bookmarks.

Sometimes text is the most effective way to communicate. Blabby displays your sentences in huge letters, so you can just show someone your screen, even at a distance.

Polyglots can easily enable multiple languages and quickly switch between them. English (UK and US), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish are supported. If your language isn’t supported, please email feedback@kaylees.site and let me know.

And obviously: no ads, no tracking, no data collection, no account required, no dark patterns.

Blabby was built with love and patience. I hope you’ll enjoy using it as much as I enjoyed making it!

### 5/5 — I don’t get it?

*2026-06-03*

Is it me or does it just speak words in English with a heavy synthetic accent of whatever language you select after you, you type into it?

Is that the point of it? Or does it translate?

[EDIT] never mind I think you see the point of it now it’s designed for people who can’t speak I think… never mind me 😀

### 5/5 — funktioniert einwandfrei ♡

*2026-05-25*

Die App funktioniert wie beschrieben, ist verständlich aufgebaut, und kann Menschen helfen, denen es gerade nicht möglich ist, zu reden.

### 5/5 — Genuinely Wonderful

*2025-08-31*

It does not get better in this monetized data world than an app that is 100% free, no ads, collects no data, and *simply works*. Truly a ray of sunshine. The only suggestions I can make: Adding the ability to insert a pause. It takes several commas in a row to get a fraction of a second between sentences or words. Along the same line, being able to adjust the speed of speech would help. (I have been trying to get it to trigger Alexa when I cannot speak.) Thank you truly for this app!

### 5/5 — Great app!!

*2025-04-16*

Please never delete

### 4/5 — Awesome app

*2025-03-20*

The apps great for what it does. Though I only got it because it looked interesting, I don’t really need it. But one bug I’ve found is sometimes the text shown is invisible. And I have to restart the app for it to show, or even the it doesn’t show. I have no idea how to reproduce the bug though.

### 5/5 — I thought this was going to translate to the other languages

*2024-11-13*

For what this app does, it’s fantastic in the sense that it would help you communicate should your voice give out, but my first impulse, as you could imagine, was to believe this was going to translate my text to French (for instance), and everything I typed was just continually read back to me in English only with a French accent. LOL. Maybe put in the description that this is NOT a translator app?

### 5/5 — Laryngitis

*2024-11-07*

I had laryngitis a couple weeks ago and this app saved me! It helped me communicate with family and doctors to tell them what was going on!

### 5/5 — Got me through vocal rest!

*2024-09-20*

Thank you for creating this app! I had to be on vocal rest for a month and this app got me through it!

### 5/5 — Throat cancer has screwed speech life up,but it’s nice (& helpful) to see apps like this!

*2024-06-09*

Dreading the days when this may be my only voice which will no doubt come,I already turned down the op which would’ve taken my voice box so I have a bit of time with my voice but take comfort knowing that devs out there are helping with apps like this.

I came to see Kaylee’s Wipr and reviews for it then found this app and it’s these little things that help me when I get bad days and my voice isn’t coming out without a spike in pain. I may sound a bit like Simon Cowell but it’s pretty handy and I’ll soon be a dab hand with lots of saved preset phrases.

Thanks Kaylee - appreciate your work on this app!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

### 4/5 — Wish you could wait to speak

*2024-02-22*

I wish there was an option for it to not automatically speak as you type. I wish I could just type and show it in big letters without it speaking. But it works ok.
