Once my phone updated to the latest iOS, it stopped giving me notification. If it’s possible to revert back to iOS 11 and down, I would do it on an old phone. It still works though just no notification capability anymore until this company makes an update to their app. ### 3/5 — Black label sometimes black hole *2019-12-27, version 1.8* I bought these cameras (5) to keep an eye on a vacation home in Maine and another property in NYS. I have had somewhat success with two some times three of the cameras. One in particular has worked most excellently for over three years! It is literally out doors! It is under the eves of a garage and 75’ away from the router but has performed magnificently! Wish I could say it for the other four. They are inside close to the router dry and flakey. Sometimes I lose pictures contact weeks on end. The NYS cameras are just like NY State of mind pay big get little and if you don’t like it, SO! I think I paid somewhere in the neighborhood of 45 bucks on amazon and to me it was worth it at least for the one but one never knows what one gets, the preverbal pig in the poke. Would I recommend maybe one to see if it scratches your itch. They can be a little temperamental on startup make sure to keep your password there is no provision for recapturing it like other sites and you mess up long distance you may be able to fix it next summer! So app and cameras are useless. We also have other monitors that work fine on the network so not sure why we are having issues. When I have purchased a new router or when I’ve had to reset the router and reconnect the cam I cannot connect. I get the message “wireless configuration is waiting”. To install the darn app and get the camera to behave somewhat like a camera, it took me 3 days bc it wouldn't install in my newer iPad and i had to install it on my old, outdated iPad! That trash of-a-camera shouldn't be sold anymore bc it's ancient and can only work on old devices! I finally registered and installed that piece of garbage to find out that I couldn't use the camera bc I couldn't log back on since my password was not recognized! I then had to go through that nonsensical registration & installation process all over again! I'm so frustrated that I'm just about ready to take a hammer to the darn piece of trash and throw it in the garbage where it belongs! Neither "Black Label Innovations" nor "Bayit Home Automation Corp" provide any customer assistance whatsoever! I will NEVER purchase any product bearing either one of those trade names ever again! ### 1/5 — Too many issues *2021-08-11, version 1.8* I’ve had two of these cameras for a few years, but they never worked quite right. I never get notifications, the time stamp for recorded videos is all over the place, so I can’t rely on the time it was supposedly recorded and the sensor doesn’t seem to function, it records nothing, no movement. Works great if you just want to check in on pets or whatever, but don’t rely on it for home safety. ### 1/5 — No updates in 3 years!! *2021-06-06, version 1.8* Camera is still okay, but it’s completely pointless since the developers don’t update the app! Says it temporarily won’t work on 5G but that’s all I have so I can no longer use this camera because of this app. Definitely don’t recommend buying any black label products!! Had it 6 months. Now it goes offline and will not reboot. I have factory reset the camera and followed instruction with lab cable. Camera starts but will not communicate and stays “offline” . I have submitted for service advice.... NO RESPONSE AT ALL IN TWO WEEKS. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TEDIOUS UNIT. DOES NOT WORK. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Not a happy camper at all. Cameras been on a automatic wild reset within last month. Useless.... Have had cameras for about 3 years. They are ok for the price. Lacks critical information when downloading from SD card by losing dates/time stamping. Only shows through app only. App playback is very sketchy, constant kick offs, do not load up. No option to save recorded videos from app to devices, have to remove hardware. This company doesn’t like to respond to any type of email about their product or feedback from their product. I didn’t understand how to set it up and it took for someone to steal my package for me to figure out how to use the 2.4 ghz of my WiFi only. I switched the passwords so it would be the right network and omg I love it. I’m surprised how clear it is. I talked to my son in another room, I can listen to him snore, it’s getting dark out and it’s black and white but crisp clear, you can take a pic, press record, or to save space you can just watch and observe. I’m a very happy customer. I want more Thanks black label :) ### 5/5 — Works well after some Googling *2018-05-12, version 1.8* It took some Googling and time to figure out all the details and features, but after that this is really cool for the comparatively low price of the camera. I like the push notifications when the camera detects movement. The camera is working great...Thanks!! ### 5/5 — Works great if you follow the instruction ! ! ! *2016-08-23, version 1.3* Just got a Black Label B2601 Camera and it is working great. However like others I had issues at first trying to install using option 1, quick setup. The camera would not connect to Wi-Fi. I tried many resets all with same results of unable to connect to Wi-Fi. Then I read the instructions that said if having problems do a manual install. Cam worked good directly wired to the router, but it still would not work on only Wi-Fi. Then I read more of the instructions which said to only use WPA2 Wi-Fi network encryption, which I had to change as it was set to a higher encryption level. I also went online to Black Label's website and it said the unit only works with a 2.4 Ghz band and I was using 5.0 Ghz. Got it working perfectly using: 2.4 Ghz band and WPA2 encryption. I did the manual install but with the above changes it likely would have worked with the quick setup. Good image which has different quality levels for issues with bandwidth lag and data use. Cam tilts and rotates with just a little lag and video has about a few seconds lag. Sound for listening and talking is not very good and has a similar lag. Overall for the price it was a great value. ### 4/5 — Not bad honestly *2021-01-05, version 1.8* For the price this camera is pretty handy. Use it at my moms house and I have three of them hooked up. They are connected 90% of the time with no issues. One of them (the newer version) lags like crazy but the others are troopers. My main gripe is that every time you open the app (if multiple users are accessing the cameras) you have to log in. ### 4/5 — Works great - if you have patience *2016-06-15, version 1.2* It took a little bit and a couple emails to customer support but I finally got my two cameras working. I have had two cameras set up for about a month or so and they work as advertised. The ability to use the listen and talk functions are amazing for yelling at my dog to get off the couch!
