Is it still running in 30 FPS? This is 2022, please at least update it to 60 FPS if not 120. When compared to older games like Sky Force, Black Paradox just feels too laggy to enjoy. Fluid movement and smooth control are crucial to a hardcore shoot ‘em up. Other than that, the artwork and music are amazing. I have to say, the development and QA on this is first class. The retro visuals are very rich and satisfying, gorgeous ship design and lovely weapon effects. The sounds are chunky and give you great audio clues as to what is going on. For me, the real star is the use of haptics. You can play with the sound on zero and yet the haptics let you feel what is going on, you get a little feedback when your ship is hit and the recoil is perfectly and rewardingly linked to every shot. The haptics and visuals when you kill a boss are very cool. The gameplay is moreish. The mechanic of upgrading your ship is balanced well. You don’t have to grind for too long to get that next little boost and you can feel the difference those little boosts make. In terms of the weapons, they are perhaps some of the best balanced weapons I have seen in any game like this. No one weapon seems over or under powered, even though they all play completely differently - and they look and feel great to fire. I really do enjoy using all of them. The QA work to get that balanced must have been perfect. The levels are fairly short, but have a different layout every time you play. The bosses feel very hard at each first few tries, but you can learn their attack patterns quickly, it is not even that frustrating when you die and have to start over, as you have some coins to spend on a little upgrade. Very well done to the developers, and especially QA. Les effets spéciaux envahissent tout l’écran pour notre plus grand bonheur. La difficulté est bien dosée, pas impossible avec de la patience. En tout cas c’est plus facile que les anciens titres de l’époque et tant mieux... Des ennemis très variés accompagnent des boss épiques. Le mode qui vient d’être rajouté permettant de faire que les boss du côté obscur rallonge la durée de vie. Dommage que finir le jeu ne rapporte rien de spécial... Par contre attention, le jeu fait chauffer de façon importante mon iPhone XS Max alors espérons des optimisations dans le temps... La vitesse d’affichage reste correcte cependant, pas de gros ralentissement. Sinon, on peut faire le reproche concernant la taille des polices du jeu qui sont trop petites, ont lit difficilement les inscriptions... De plus, les améliorations coûtent trop cher et sont bloquées au niveau 13... Dommage, je voulais augmenter mon vaisseau au maximum de ces capacités... Je trouve le système d’amélioration très bizarre et ni ergonomique ni habituel ce qui le rend incompréhensible au premier abord... Un deuxième opus serrait idéal pour améliorer cette recette déjà exceptionnelle. Que de plaisir en jouant !
