## What is BlackJackal?

Learn blackjack basic strategy by playing real hands. BlackJackal is a blackjack trainer that shows you the expected value (EV) of every play, so you learn which move is right, why it's right, and what each mistake costs you.

PLAY REAL HANDS
• Full Hand deals full rounds from a shoe: doubles, splits, the dealer's draw and the result, all graded.
• Quick drills when you want fast reps: Standard, EV Spots (the decisions worth the most), Weak Spots and Situational.

SEE WHAT EVERY PLAY IS WORTH
• The value of each play after every decision, and how far the best one beats the rest.
• Coaching tips for the hands players get wrong most, like soft 18 against a 10 or 12 against a 3.
• A session ledger with your accuracy, streaks and Mistakes (the EV your decisions gave up), kept apart from the luck of the cards.

PLAY LIKE YOU'RE AT THE TABLE
• Table signals: tap twice to hit, wave across to stand, two-finger tap to double, spread to split, swipe down to surrender. Hide the buttons and play by signals alone.

FIX YOUR COSTLIEST MISTAKES
• Weak Spots ranks the hands you misplay by how much they cost you, with a coaching tip for each.
• Progress tracks accuracy, speed, streaks, Net EV and Mistakes over time, with a daily goal and calendar.

LEARN THE BOOK
• 16 Academy lessons, from Blackjack 101 and EV fundamentals to soft hands, pairs, surrender, side bets, table etiquette and bankroll discipline.
• Strategy charts for hard totals, soft totals and pairs that redraw for your table's exact rules.

DESIGNED FOR iPHONE DUO
• Folded, the whole table fits in your hand. Open, the table and your coach sit side by side. Supports all orientations.

YOUR TABLE, YOUR RULES
• Practice on a standard 6-deck game for free. Premium lets you set the rules: 1 to 8 decks, dealer hits or stands on soft 17, double after split, late surrender, 3:2 or 6:5 blackjack and shoe penetration.

SIMPLE PRICING, NO SUBSCRIPTION
• Free: every training mode, lesson and chart, with a simple 21 hands per day limit.
• Premium is a one-time unlock: unlimited hands, custom table rules, more identified weak spots, and fine-grained control over Situational mode hand ranges.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No account, no ads, no tracking. Your progress stays on your iPhone, and practice works offline.

BlackJackal is a training tool for learning blackjack strategy. It uses no real money and offers no wagering or prizes.

Deal a hand and see what your instincts are worth.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 2.0 — 2026-10-13

BlackJackal 2.0 is a new table.

• A redesigned felt table with an all-new deck: engraved jackal court cards, a house crest printed in the felt, and cards that move the way a dealer handles them.
• Table signals: tap twice to hit, wave across to stand, two-finger tap to double, spread to split, swipe down to surrender. Turn on Hide Action Buttons to play by signals alone.
• Designed for iPhone Duo: the table on the outer display, and the coach side by side when it's open.
• Every iPhone now plays in landscape too, with the dealer seated beside you.
• A short welcome tour for new players.
• Accessibility improvements and many smaller fixes.

### 1.2 — 2026-06-15

2. Added a new set of coaching tips specific to common pitfalls and high value hands.
3. Strengthened the feedback of every decision by showing the EV of all possible outcomes.
4. Redesigned Progress tab with a focus on daily training and a calendar view to stay consistent. Improved the detection and display of weak hands.
5. Added a significant amount of polish to the full app including refreshed home screen, improved haptics, card deal and flip animations, and smoother transitions.
6. Squashed a variety of minor bugs throughout.

### 1.1 — 2026-03-06

1. Upped the daily limit for Free users to 21 hand per day, up from 10 per day.
