## What is Blackout?

Blackout is an offline household emergency guide for iPhone. Instructions, checklists, weather alerts, and SOS all in one place — ready for when the power, signal, or internet goes out and you can’t find any advice on the web.

Everything runs locally on your phone. No account, no cloud, no trackers.

CRISIS TOOLS • Emergency guides for home, car, cabin, first aid, evacuation and power outage • Step-by-step guide — large font, one step across the entire screen • Checklists for blackout, evacuation bag, water and food supplies, storm or departure • Ready-made templates (flood, fire, storm, cyberattack, medical incident and more) for one-click installation • Custom guides and checklists with photos and voice notes • Self-sufficiency calculator — how much water, food and medicine a household needs based on the number of people • Expiration monitoring of supplies with advance reminders • CPR metronome with haptic and visual rate of 110/min • Rapid first aid triage — unconsciousness, bleeding, burn, choking, fracture • Battery-saving emergency light and night vision, with localization tone

WEATHER ALERTS • Weather alerts by saved addresses — ČHMÚ for the Czech Republic, MeteoAlarm for Europe, NWS for the USA • Notifications of new alerts including the level of danger • Specific advice on what to do for each alert — not just the name of the phenomenon

EMERGENCY FEATURES • SOS light signal with a flashlight • Loud siren to call for help • Emergency mode: maximum contrast, flat colors, saves battery and is readable in the dark even on a dimmed display • Key emergency numbers directly in the content

SAFEZONE — NETWORK WITHOUT INTERNET • Finds nearby iPhones with Blackout and connects them directly, without a router, SIM and data connection • Short messages between approved devices when the mobile network is not working • Radar shows who is in range • Each device must be manually approved by the user

HOUSEHOLD AND BACKUPS • Sharing instructions and checklists between family devices • Encrypted backup (AES-256-GCM) protected by a password, transfer via AirDrop, cable or email

PRIVACY ON FIRST OF ALL, Blackout is serverless. It doesn’t collect analytics, use ad SDKs, or trackers. Your household data stays on your device or between devices you trust. The app works completely in airplane mode.

WHAT’S FREE SOS and siren, emergency mode, all guides and checklists, and weather alerts remain free forever. A one-time purchase of Blackout Household (no subscription) unlocks the SafeZone network, encrypted backups, Self-Sufficiency Calculator, and Expiry Watch with advance reminders. Nothing that can help in an emergency is behind a paywall.

IMPORTANT NOTICE Blackout is a support organization app. It does not replace emergency lines, medical assistance, fire, police, or other emergency services. The SOS signal and siren are not a substitute for calling for help. In case of danger to life or health, always call 112.

I added Support to the app — now you can find a chatbot right in the app that will help you report a bug, give you advice on a question, or take your suggestion for improvement. If it can’t handle it on its own, it will pass it on to me and I’ll get back to you by email.

Blackout remains the same as before — 100% offline, no cloud, no account. Support is the only exception: when you use it, the message is sent to our server to reach me. Nothing else changes.
