I don’t understand how a town with millions on millions of dollars of funding has had an unupdated unfinished app for this many years. You guys do know there’s an engineering school (IN TOWN!!) with students willing to fix this right? It’s insane. It never works and it’s been like this since my freshman year three years ago. So don’t even bother. ### 1/5 — Hardly works *2024-12-03, version 2.0.18* Horrible user interface, and you’re lucky if you can even see the busses on the “live map”. 9 times out of 10 the map appears empty so you’re stuck just guessing when the next bus will come ### 1/5 — Constantly breaking *2024-12-02, version 2.0.18* Please update this app, needs a complete overhaul. Constantly breaking, can't see buses or routes get combined. Communicates a disrespect towards transit users. ### 1/5 — Inconsistent *2024-01-18, version 2.0.13* Half the time its fine but the other half is miserable. Locations on the map and route times are simply not correct so often. They tell you to use the app because its “more accurate” than anything else but you should just stick with google maps 🤷‍♂️ ### 1/5 — Is it really that hard to make sure your app works? *2023-10-03, version 2.0.13* This app is next to useless. Most of the time, the bus trackers are so delayed that you have to make it to the stop 5-10 minutes early to make sure you actually get onto the bus. The other half of the time, the app outright stops working without warning and won’t tell you until it’s too late. I’ve literally walked out of my apartment to see the bus, I NEED to get on, pass me by, after this app tells me it’s still on campus. It’s ridiculous! The only times I’ve ever been late or missed a class is entirely because of this app. This is literally so frustrating that I’m writing my first and only review on the App Store. How difficult is it to fix the trackers? Especially when almost every student relies on these buses? ### 1/5 — Why Is This App So Useless? *2023-08-10, version 2.0.13* The “plan a trip” option tells you that you have to walk for most, or all, of the trip - when in reality that’s not the case. The route map only ever shows a map - never any actual routes. How has Bburg Transit won awards? Crashes constantly. Need to quit and reopen app for bus locations to update. Buses mislabeled. Bus lines paired with the incorrect route map. Right now the MSA route is showing as a North Main route, opposite of what it should be. So so bad. So. Bad. ### 1/5 — App does nothing for me *2022-03-14, version 2.0.3* Doesn’t even attempt to work ### 1/5 — Garbage app for a garbage system. *2022-02-16, version 2.0.3* Hardly ever updates bus positions in real time, buses consistently show up minutes early from projected time, when waiting for the next bus cause you missed the one that came early you won’t know that the next bus is going to be extra late until you’ve already waited 15 minutes expecting for that later bus to come then. Annoying to use, somewhat helpful to know approximate times, hence the 1 star. ### 1/5 — Cmon man *2022-02-09, version 2.0.3* Relying on taking the bus is a hassle in itself, to have to rely on this app on top of that is nearly impossible. Can you please just have the live map and routes even show up atleast half the time? This app is booty. Im honestly surprised that this has been developed and then redeveloped into a “better” app that is this. Sheeeeesh. Update: 2 years later this app is still so bad. If students helped build this app they should not get degrees. Take your keyboard and smash it. This app was nothing like a Lamborghini!! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Hardly works *2026-04-21, version 2.0.18* As someone who relies on the bus system to get to and from campus everyday, this app is awful. Every day there is something wrong on the app/system, and I’m unable to track busses on their routes or even see the route pop up so I can go into a stop to check the arrival/departure times. And even when the live bus updates are showing, there is a 2-3 minute lag. I have also tried “starring” my favorite bus stops for easier tracking but the app never seems to save them. I feel like it is not that hard to have a working bus tracking app. ### 1/5 — Great app *2026-04-08, version 2.0.18* It’s a great app if you enjoy being lied to every time you need to take the bus. ### 1/5 — Feels like a sophomore design project *2026-02-24, version 2.0.18* Has a terrible interface and something is always wrong. Buses are invisible on the map, times are incorrectly shown, and there is always an alert saying the app is having an issue. It feels like they did the bare-minimum and called it a day. There also isn’t a mode to see all bus routes at the same time, you have to click on each bus individually. This means that if a bus is invisible on the map you can’t even look at the route it takes. Why it hasn’t been updated I don’t know. ### 1/5 — It broke down again today *2025-10-02, version 2.0.18* Stop crashing and break down so often. We’re an engineering school! ### 1/5 — Fix *2025-01-23, version 2.0.18* Buses never show up on time in the Plan a trip section after bus routes have changed. Also busses are terribly staggered. I shouldn’t have to wait an hour for a south main bus after it says it’ll come in 15 minutes. I can see it’s just waiting at the time stop. When I found out about the app, it was a very useful tool for checking schedules. As far as I can tell the live map is sufficiently accurate for me to be able to plan my route. Most of the people rating this app are under 22, so what do they know. The thing does what its supposed to. Is it perfect? No. But I feel the need to give it 5 stars just to compensate for the ridiculous number of 1 stars. If you can’t read the map or look at the time table, that’s a you problem, not the app’s fault. ### 5/5 — DO BETTER *2021-08-28, version 2.0.2* DO BETTER WE MADE IT TO WALMART ### 5/5 — A much appreciated improvement! *2019-01-22* This new app is far faster and simpler than the old versions and seems to include most of the functionality of their website. ### 5/5 — Suggestion for UI *2019-01-16* You should make the “Filter Results by Stop” section bigger so user can see the above and below option. Very streamlined compared to old app just from looking at the UI. It looks like it will do everything it’s supposed to do and the data appears accurate. The addition of an alerts section is welcomed ### 4/5 — Put direction arrows on the bus icons *2019-11-06* It would be helpful if direction arrows were placed on the bus icons so that we know what part of the route the bus is on, some busses go up and down the same road on their route so it’s hard to tell.
