### 3/5 — Simple app with potential

I have the pellet grill/22” griddle combo #2022. Setup was easy and updating the smoker’s firmware was smooth.  The app works, but man are they missing some easy win opportunities here. Integrate recipes that can set time/temp variables, have a chart that plots temp over time (we track the stall, ya’ll!), alerts could be better, and I’d love to be able to see the same info in a web browser on my desktop while I’m working from home. It’s been 5 months since an update, Blackstone! Chop, chop!

When I first downloaded this app it was pretty bad, basically useless. I could get an accurate temperature reading but only after rebooting the app. Then it got better, the temperature alerts were very helpful. With the last update it’s gone back to how it first was for me, basically useless. Not receiving alerts on reaching temp for the smoker or the probe, have to force close and reopen it to get it to work. I think I’ll move on to a third party temperature monitoring setup.

This app is constantly disconnecting from the grill and making you have to change from Wi-Fi to a different connection. You cannot trust the temperature that it’s cooking at and honestly, you guys need to update it to make sure it’s more trustworthy.

I Use different equipment and apps to monitor my temperature of internal temps of my meat whilst smoking. Due to the fact these probes measure every little detail unlike the very simple probes that come with the OE. All-in-All. Equipment is awesome but the app is super simple. 3.5/5
