The instructions on the website do not match what is on the app. Example: “enter shipping address” - but this does not exist on the app. They then sent a text with a link to an instruction video. The video does not exist. The equipment return form for asks for duration of the 2 tests. Don’t ask this after the fact, no way to know. Someone in the company needs to try it as a patient, get the long list of snafus, and fix them. ### 1/5 — Won’t connect to device *2026-03-09, version 4.4.10* Bluetooth permissions enabled, it sees the device by ID, but it won’t ever connect to the device. Expensive scam. ### 1/5 — Connection issues *2026-03-08, version 4.4.10* Problems connecting app with device. Restarted phone a couple different times, turned Bluetooth setting off then back on. Once it finally connected, the app stated the ring part that you wear on your finger to measure your O2 levels and BPM was off and needed to be put back on. I kept adjusting it, then it would finally work again and then it would stop again. I had it on my thumb, which is my biggest finger like it says. It says not to use your middle finger so I had to put it on my thumb and it was still basically loose. Not a pleasant experience. Worked the first night. The second night the recording stopped, then the battery in the device died. Well it still didn’t work so I called again and they said it was my phone so I tried on my husbands phone and it still didn’t work. Terrible device ### 1/5 — Ohhh my god how annoying *2026-01-06, version 4.4.10* This company is annoying lol test was easy but maybe don’t call me every goddamn day asking for your device back ok you sent it to me and made damn sure I knew about those late fees and return date cause it’s on there about 15 times assuming I’m not responsible enough to return the device I gave to receive a goddamn phone call every single day asking if I can return my device no you annoying unprofessional jerks I’ll return it when I planned to return it in the alotted time I have to return the device STOP CALLING ME EVERY DAY!!!!!!!! ### 1/5 — Absolute trash *2025-12-09, version 4.4.10* A broken piece of garbage that doesn’t work, isn’t clear, and leads to tons of texts about returning it even while you’re trying to find a solution night after night. It’s shameful. ### 1/5 — RUN! They will try to cheat you and make your life miserable. *2025-11-12, version 4.4.10* Absolutely horrible company. Sent the test without checking to see if anyone would be home or if I was ready to take the test. I was out of town when it arrived. Then they immediately started calling asking why I didn’t do the test the night it arrived, threatened to charge me late fees for not immediately returning the equipment, and ultimately threatened to charge me $1,500 for the test equipment if I didn’t take the test immediately and return the equipment. This was not weeks later, this escalated within the same week it arrived while I was traveling for work. Then, when I did return home and could do the test, the app would not stay connected and kept turning off every time my phone went to sleep. Ended up having to lock my screen on all night to get the test to stay connected. Then after returning the test they wanted me to pay out of pocket instead of billing my insurance. Threatened to turn me over to collections if I didn’t pay immediately. I guess they didn’t want to wait for the insurance check. Absolutely horrible experience and the worst company to deal with I have ever experienced. They call back to back all day long. One day they called 36 times while I was in a meeting with clients. This was just about my results. This is supposed to be a medical testing company - I wasn’t signing up to be a test dummy for collection agency tryouts! Extremely aggressive company tactics and they use harassment to make you bend to their will. DO NOT get involved with this company for any reason whatsoever. Make your doctor choose another provider for your test. Any results you can gain from the experience are not worth dealing with them. Was prescribed sleep study by my Dr. Received a ring and instructions on how to use it. Downloaded the app, then quickly deleted the app after reading their disclosures. The one that sent chills up my spine was “by accepting and using this app you authorize us to access any and all information on your device. This includes photos, videos, files, internet history, etc.” In so many words, not happening. ### 1/5 — HORRIBLE APP *2025-05-29, version 4.4.9* This app is absolutely horrible. ### 1/5 — Careful of what they tell you *2025-05-20, version 4.4.8* Beware that what you are quoted as a price may not be the total price of the test. Upon the initial call, I asked for the total price of the test and was quoted 249.00 and was then told that there is a discount from my doctor’s office. I paid for the test in full and then upon getting the results they told me I now owe them $80 more dollars. No one knew anything about a discount. They charged me 400$ over the phone and then also charged my insurance. I found out a friend of mine did the same sleep study and didn’t pay anything. Insurance covered everything. I’ve tried 2 nights that start off looking great and the wrist strap always shows working but both nights stopped working after about 21 minutes. Was easy to setup but waste of time and get to call and argue with company tomorrow.’ ### 1/5 — Rigid frustrating UX unsuitable for real world *2026-03-21, version 4.4.10* The app flow was designed by either horrendous manager/UX designer, or by single developer. Nobody ever considered that the connection to their device can be interrupted for ANY reason. If it disconnects in first hour of your night — say goodbye to your study. It doesn’t care whether you certify you first night or not - next time you press submit — it’s night two baby, even if it’s 2 hours away from the first time you clicked submit. Even when I refuse certification and submission it records “nights” every time you record for over 45 minutes. No way to cancel out of submission to proceed recording. No way to restart recording. No way to reset the study to start over. No way to continue if the phone or the app was restarted for any reason. There were no issues synching the app to the watch tracker, it took under a minute. The app recorded my sleep thru the entire night. ### 5/5 — Worked great for me… *2026-05-14, version 4.5.3* After reading all the reviews, I was anxious about finally starting my sleep study. A friend of mine who had used Blackstone for a sleep study a few years ago had similar experiences to what a lot of the negative reviews here have described. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find the app very easy to use. Perhaps they have made some necessary changes. The instructions that came with the ring were very clear, connecting the ring to the app was very straightforward, and the app was very clear about what it was doing, and what I needed to do. It was basically put the ring on my finger to turn it on, it connected automatically to the app, and immediately started reading my oxygen level and pulse. There is a very clear instruction at the top of the app that said “This is the first night of your sleep study. Press this button to begin,” and when I did so later that evening it started recording. The button that had said “start the sleep study” changed to “submit the sleep study” as soon as I started recording, so when I was done in the morning I just tapped that button and it said uploading data with a status bar. When that was complete a few seconds later, it said you have completed your first day. You can take off the ring and when you’re ready to start your second evening reopen the app. Everything again was very clear. So I think they have improved their stuff. ### 5/5 — Don’t believe other reviews *2026-03-12, version 4.4.10* The app worked seamlessly for me and I had accurate recordings…anybody who has issues with the app just can’t take accountability for user error, or scheduling their test when they weren’t even in town. ### 5/5 — Works fine *2026-01-29, version 4.4.10* Don’t know why some people have a problem with this app . I’d definitely recommend them - and would use them again in a heartbeat. Additionally, the report they prepared and sent to my provider was complete and (as far as I could tell) accurate! ### 5/5 — Simple with zero issues for me *2024-12-22* I was a bit worried when I had to download this app and so all the terrible reviews but everything went perfectly fine for me. But i called in and they said it actually had reported those numbers anyway before restarting. so i shipped it back, pretty easy. So all in all, this was simple to use for me. ### 3/5 — Confusing Experience with Poor Support *2025-03-03, version 2.2.3* I followed the instructions and completed the sleep test for two nights. While it turns out the test did submit correctly, the feedback from the app was unclear. The “Start time” displayed the time I pressed stop on both nights, which made me question whether it had recorded properly. It appeared to be working during use, but there was no clear confirmation. Another issue was that both nights, when I submitted the test, the app labeled them as “first night,” adding to my confusion about whether everything was being recorded correctly. Adding to the frustration, I received multiple text messages in a row—after already completing the test—just to tell me how to download the app. When I reached out for clarification, customer service never responded to my text, despite saying I could contact them that way. I also did not receive a response when using the contact form on their website despite the fact that it said I would. The nurse practitioner at my doctor’s office highly recommended this company, but my experience has not been great.
