However I was directed to use the new Blackvue App instead and it successfully read my battery information. They broke this all so that you are forced to your their other app which they recently overhauled with an aggressive campaign to force customers to subscribe to paid services. That app is full of junk and adware and user unfriendly. Trash company ### 1/5 — Does not work, even if battery fully charged. *2024-10-06, version 1.08* Worked the first time with b-130x then it always shows 1% charging or remaining. Tried to uninstall the app, to empty battery, same result (also with Blackvue Cloud App). This shouldn't be open for anyone to walk by and be able to see the battery life or to make changes to the settings. ### 1/5 — B-130x NEVER Connects to App *2023-08-02* Just got the B-130x battery and the battery app does absolutely nothing. The Bluetooth light on the battery doesn’t even turn on. The app just says ‘scan’…the circle of death appears on the screen, then just stops circling. How am I supposed to know how much charge my battery has? At least the old B-112 at least had charging lights….but then again the cheap plastic wires were charred black and almost set my car on fire. These devices and accessories can be really great if BlackVue would invest in the actual utilization so that functionality actually works, especially since none of it is cheap. ### 1/5 — Borderline Useless *2023-07-27* The App relies on you being within 4m of the battery to get any connection. Utterly pointless. Why is the battery not an option on the normal BlackVue Dashcam App accessible via the Cloud. The app is working excellent, not every battery will work, if it doesn’t have Bluetooth, I strongly recommended installing this battery as it’s perfect for all blackvue camera’s and compatible with the app. 👍 ### 4/5 — Battery not connecting *2023-03-22* Finally I thought there was something wrong with my battery even though I still was getting notifications when in parking mode .Thank you BlackVue for this firmware update. ### 4/5 — Doesn‘t fully support B-124X *2020-05-02* Dear developers please add full support for the Blackvue Magic Battery Pack B-124X In the current version the power draw of the new 5V USB Port will not be summarized to the total output. So if you are powering a dashcam via the 12v cigarette socket + a mobile hotspot via 5V USB port the calculation of the remaining battery life counts only for the dashcam which will result in a wrong calculation. Therefore the battery pack will shutdown way too early as predicted because the 1 Amp usb device at 5V will draw approx. the double amount of power as of the dashcam. Suggestions to solve this: 1. Auto detect the Ampere of the plugged in device and add this power output to the calculation of the remaining battery life. 2. if auto detect is not possible give the user the possibility to manually type in the Ampere 0,5 or 1 or 2 of the USB device and then consider it in the calculation as well. 3. (not recommended but helpful to get roughly the remaining battery life shown) if it will not be fixed by the app, the user can also calculate the power draw of the USB device manually by reducing the capacity of total 6000 mAh. for example if the USB device draws 1 Amp set it to 5000 mAh or if the USB device draws 2 Amp set it to 4000mAh. Back to 1 star ============================================ UPDATE 3March2023: With the newest v 1.08, at least initially the app now, finally appears to be able to find both of my batteries quickly and show the status of the batteries correctly. Upgraded my rating from the horrible 1-star rating to 3 stars. Will find out now if the app consistently works as it should. ============================================ Original review This software is buggy. I have 2 B-124X battery packs and 1 B-124E expansion battery in one car. This app frequently fails to find one of the battery packs or both battery packs. Repeated scans eventually find one or both. After viewing the information of one battery pack and then trying to return back to the list of battery packs the app tries to scan for them and ALWAYS FAILS TO FIND EITHER ONE. I have to wait until the scan fails and then try to scan again --- resulting in either one, both, or none being found. PLEASE FIX YOUR CONSISTENTLY BUGGY SOFTWARE!!! You charge way too much for these batteries to supply such defective software!!! Update: December 27, 2022: app completely broken today doesn't work at all zero please fix immediately ### 2/5 — Don’t work anymore *2023-01-10* After last update stopped working. The scan finds the battery and connects but the battery stats all show zero and when you click settings it states not connected. Please fix this.
