### 2/5 — There is no sound on my iphone

*2025-08-28*

Can u fix this pls?

### 2/5 — Ok but short

*2024-06-18*

I enjoyed the pixel art and the nostalgic feel but the whole game had about five real puzzles to solve and none felt that fulfilling.

### 3/5 — Voice Acting is not so good

*2021-03-14*

I made the mistake of playing Kathy Rain on iOS just before purchasing this point and click adventure. If only I had played this first, maybe the sub-par voice acting - the "acting" part specifically - wouldn't have disappointed me so much. The protagonist's monotone emotionless delivery of most lines sounds read straight from the page. Other VA characters aren't much better, but having to listen to that one female voice throughout made the game much less fun. Even turning off the voices didn't improve the experience for me (sorry).

The game play is fun, and the story compelling. I would have liked the graphics to be a teeny bit more up-to-date. I enjoy the feel & look of 90's point and click PC games, but also like the smoother look of current-day controls.

Overall, not a bad game, but I don't think I will be purchasing the sequels.

### 2/5 — The lead protagonist is pretty much

*2021-03-08*

Daria. If you’re a 90s kid and ever had the displeasure of re-watching Daria then you should know what you’re getting into. Great gameplay and voice acting. My gripe is just with the “Im so over being in this game” attitude the protagonist takes is so cliche and her disinterest in doing anything other than griping about the minutia of life is not very effective at sucking you into the story. I get that its a more mature adventure but it ends up feeling like a “spoiled brat in New York” simulator really fast.

You have to give your protagonist a sense of danger or at least make them a tad bolder. Just about everything you click on has some snide kind of retort like “Im not touching that.” But then you’ll end up using some random object that makes no sense and the protagonist has no trouble agreeing to do these weird things.I think for the right kind of person this is a great game mechanically but not for anyone looking for something more fantastical then a character who just complains all the time and weird things happened to. Just a matter of taste I suppose.

### 2/5 — Joey is no help

*2021-02-18*

There is no Request a performance option to distract Kelly and get the notebook.

Ideas?

### 2/5 — Buggy

*2020-02-08*

I ran into a game-stopping bug where the notebook is supposed to update when you talk to a certain person, and it doesn’t. I checked a walkthrough because I was totally stuck, and I had already done what the walkthrough suggested. Tested it again, and even though I, the player, know the information, the notebook doesn’t so I can’t progress.

There was another earlier bug with the phone in Kelly’s room that had me stumped but not permanently stuck. Less of a “bug” and more a game design thing if you do things in a different order.

Overall, as a fan of adventure games, this fell short. On pacing, I usually expect to be stuck for a bit, then have a big breakthrough where the game moves quickly again for a bit, then get stuck again, repeat. In this one I feel I’ve had to squeeze every clue out like juicing a potato with my bare hands without much reward for my work. And mostly brute forcing.

Also I don’t like the characters very much, which is important in a story-driven game. I DO like the premise though! I just don’t feel it delivered on my hopes.

### 2/5 — Don’t play on iPhone.

*2019-12-15*

I spent half the time looking at walkthroughs just to find out there was no possible way I could have seen the clues I needed to on my phone. It was also pretty short. So 3 dollars for this one, and then the rest. No thank you. I don’t have an iPad, maybe the gameplay is better on that.

### 5/5 — Toller Zeitvertreib

*2019-08-28*

Kurzweilig und unterm Strich sogar ganz spannend erzählt. Die Geschichte könnte vielschichtiger und vor allem länger sein. Aber trotzdem sehr empfehlenswert.

### 5/5 — Incredible first title

*2019-03-17*

For old school RPG fans. Awesome point and click

### 5/5 — Reminds me of Monkey Island and Loom

*2018-11-18*

This game series is perfect for fans of the Monkey Island and Loom games from Lucas Arts. It’s the same point and click style and the story is really interesting. I’m glad I bought the whole series. Keep up the great work! :)

### 5/5 — Best point and click

*2018-11-03*

I’ve played this game twice and about to play it again - I love the story and specially the characters and the atmosphere! Same goes with the rest of the series! Thanks for a fantastic game

### 3/5 — Very short and boring

*2018-09-18*

It this was a free game , would say it is rather meh , but ok .

But I can not believe I paid for this.

Graphic is ugly , but I can get over that . The story was boring first and then when it started to became interesting it was over . I had to look up a walkthrough because I could not believe that was the whole game. Also there was not a single little funny sidetrack or anything funny or quirky.

### 3/5 — Not for me

*2018-09-08*

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I found this game/story boring. I found myself skipping through stacks of boring dialogue- don’t get me wrong, I love reading - that’s why I have my kindle, but when it comes to gaming I want a gaming experience, not a reading experience. I feel as though I’ve been tricked into thinking there’s a lot of gameplay, when in fact all I was doing was choosing what mundane question I was going to ask some boring character at some unimaginative location .... sorry guys

### 2/5 — Very frustrated

*2018-07-06, version 1.7.0*

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game. The game keeps stopping when I try and enter the doctors office. I don’t know if this is a bug or what but I regret paying for this after being able to play for 5 minutes.

### 5/5 — Sehr gut !

*2018-05-21*

Tolles Point and Click Adventure.
Absolute Kaufempfehlung.

### 5/5 — Classic old school point and click

*2018-04-19*

I loved these games. I loved the old school feel of them and the general noir atmosphere I felt as I was playing. They were fun to play, and sometimes frustrating, but overall I loved getting to know the characters and feeling inside of their world.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No Sound on iphone 16

*2025-07-25*

Unfortunately there is no sound is there a fix for this??

### 1/5 — No Sound in iPhone 13

*2023-11-01*

I really Like the Blackwell series on PC and thought to myself, why not play it again?

Yeah, no. This game has no sound in my iPhone 13 … waste of money.

### 1/5 — Pay to talk to a woman-hating ghost?!

*2021-03-09*

So basically, the whole game seems to be talking to a woman-hating ghost called Joey to get ‘clues’. He calls your character ‘sweetheart’ and ‘darling’, and threatens her.
When it comes to actually meeting other ghosts (the point of the game apparently) Joey suddenly takes over from your character and does all the talking!!!
This game is beyond annoying. It was like putting up with my old boss all over again.
Aren’t games supposed to be fun?
I spent actual money on this?!

### 1/5 — Bug?

*2019-09-20*

This game was fine until Rosa’s interview with Adrian. She won’t add to her notebook that Kelly sleeps elsewhere and so now I’m stuck. Is this a bug?

### 1/5 — Beaucoup trop court

*2017-07-31*

À peine rentrer dans le jeu qu'il est déjà terminé... vraiment trop court. À peine 1h30 de jeu...

### 1/5 — Ugh

*2017-06-12*

I knew this game felt familiar. It's exactly like one of their other games I didn't care for, Shiva. Oy. The game plays by itself. It doesn't need you. So much dialog and virtually no play time, unless you think playtime is being instructed of your next clue or location to go to and going there only to be in another pointless dialog for 20 minutes. There is nothing fun here. It's not cutesy, it's not interesting, the female doesn't speak in a way of normal speech flows. You're pointing, you're clicking, you're being led to each next screen and just doing what you're told. Not quite an adventure game. From my perspective it's Shiva in another form and someone will need to sit Shiva for me after this game is over.

### 1/5 — Glitchy

*2016-02-24, version 1.7.0*

Seems ok but can't see both ends of the screen, they are completely black (inventory, tools, etc.). For $3 this shouldn't happen

### 1/5 — Hate

*2015-05-30*

Just launched the game and already want to delete it for crappy soundtrack and not letting me to skip the intro

### 1/5 — Buggy, cannot progress

*2015-02-26, version 1.6*

Very early in the game you encounter a bug which does not enable to progress game. Also crashes frequently. Real pity as i wanted to play it!

### 1/5 — Crashes, don't bother

*2014-12-08, version 1.6*

Broken, crashes all the time. Shame, looks great.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Magnifique mais aucun suivi

*2024-08-16*

Dommage qu’il n’y ait pas de suivi de ce jeu par les développeurs / éditeurs . C’est tellement génial de pouvoir les faire sur iPhone

### 5/5 — Was initially going to leave a positive review, but….

*2024-03-05*

Had an issue with laziness; you guys made it so the simple mechanic of exiting and re-entering a scene after dialogue is exchanged the key to progressing the storyline.

Also pebble/cobblestone floated in air until end of game once placed in inventory. I took screenshots

Too expensive for how short this segment of the series is, more on par with 1.49….

### 5/5 — Absolutely Amazing!

*2024-01-25*

Can we get this game updated to support larger screen phones like the iPhone 15 Pro Max. I wish games like this were produced on a regular basis.

### 5/5 — Still adore this series

*2022-05-01*

This for me is so heartwarming, I can’t believe a reviewer is moaning about the ghost being sexist….. he lived in a different era its called fiction! I absolutely love the guy that voices him, he also played robot sidekick in Primordia among a million other achievements, something about his voice soothes me. I return to this series again and again. The puzzles are great as is the storyline. I only wish there were more Wadget Eye games, anyhoo off to play Gemini Rue for the hundredth time.

### 5/5 — Best ever!

*2021-09-18*

Try it and you will see what I mean.

### 5/5 — Amazing series

*2021-05-19*

I would recommend the entire series. It is an awesome game with an awesome story. Each one is better then the last!

### 5/5 — Атмосферно

*2020-12-18*

Отличный point and click quest. Очень здорово передана атмосфера и настроение героев. Также прошел вторую часть (unbound) - просто супер! Приступаю к третьей...

### 5/5 — Fantastic start to the series!

*2020-10-22*

This is a great adventure game in the mold of the old point and click games, along with the pixel-art graphics. I loved the atmosphere, characters and storyline. Despite a couple of obtuse puzzles that relied on clicking every option in a dialog tree before the game would progress, I still had fun. Can't wait to play the rest of the games in this series👍

### 5/5 — These games are near perfect!

*2020-06-30*

Bought all of these and they sucked me in. I loved playing them and I’m sad it’s over. If you like point and clicks you will love these.
I’d love to see some more Blackwell games, maybe a few prequels or sequels.

### 5/5 — The first game should be free

*2019-09-11*

This series gets much better as it goes on. The first game is very short, basic and wooden compared to the following episodes but you should still play it to see the whole story
