Or you can buy an airport pass and fly unlimited flights for $95. One of the most important startups of our time. But the app is terrible. It feels like some sort of laggy website that’s barely even mobile-optimized. Definitely not native. The app should be a lot better. ### 2/5 — Cool service - tricky advertising *2021-12-31, version 1.3.1* Blade is running ads on TikTok that advertise their flights from Manhattan to NYC airports as “less than an Uber” and “less than a cab”. What they WANT you to think is “less money? Oh sure, I’ll download”. It’s a tricky play on words, as it’s less TIME and not less MONEY. A seat on a flight on a weekday between 7am-7pm is $195. Any other time or day is $1,500+. That doesn’t include extra luggage. The flying experience itself is always flawless. The staff in the lounges and the ground crew are always smiling, and whether I’m flying NYC for a quick flight to the Hamptons or NYC to Aspen, the time seems to slip by so peacefully (and it definitely beats flying commercial)! My phone for some reason isn’t remembering the password- maybe because it’s a web page pulled in an app? Regardless it’s endlessly frustrating and makes me not want to log in or use the service. This is the only app of say 50 I use regularly that does this. Saves me time and is an unreal photo-op and experience ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Flight cancelled last minute then trying to charge the full price for a backup car despite T&C *2025-03-05, version 2.0.1* My flight was cancelled because of the weather. That’s fine, but I booked a backup car. In the terms and conditions it says the car will never cost more than uber black which is currently around $120 and the flight was $255. Their own terms say that a backup car will also never be more expensive than $195 and will be capped at this price, but are now saying it will cost the full amount. It’s seemingly now non refundable and my only option is use the entirety of my credit on a car which is ridiculous. ### 1/5 — DO NOT BOOK *2024-01-10, version 1.3.1* They charged me for a flight after they cancelled on me! $2000 gone! Taking over a month to dispute with my bank. RUN FAR. ### 1/5 — Buggy App be careful *2023-11-16, version 1.3.1* Managed to book a flight through the buggy app. Feels unprofessionally coded. Got a booking for wrong dates! Instead of selected date, it booked me for the next available date. ### 1/5 — DO NOT BUY flight insurance!! *2023-02-20, version 1.3.1* Don’t waste your money on the flight insurance. If they cancel your flight on you and claim all they can give is credit, open a dispute and you can get your money back that way. That’s what I did when blade canceled mine. Flight insurance is a rip. ### 1/5 — Breached their own T&Cs, withheld money *2023-01-16, version 1.3.1* Avoid Blade at all costs, go with Uber Copter …or even walk! My scheduled flights between JFK and Manhattan were cancelled due to a UN airspace restriction, Customer Services proceeded to try and do everything they could (against their own Terms of Service) to keep my money, eventually ignoring my emails. If it wasn’t for Amex, Blade would still holding onto my cash. My friend who was on the same flight got a text that the flight had been canceled at 7am, but blade didn’t text me about the cancellation until 8:30am, after I had left for the west side heliport. I had to scramble to arrange my own transportation to JFK and am working to rebook on a new flight at my expense since I won’t arrive in time due to Blade’s negligence and terrible service. I signed up to use Blade for the first time to have a more relaxed, efficient, and nice experience getting to the airport from Manhattan and they provided the exact opposite. The lounge had several snack and drink options and the employees were all friendly and knowledgeable. My flight only took five minutes, whereas if I were to take an Uber it would’ve been an hour. My only feedback would be making it so I could book with fewer clicks on the app, but overall the app works fine. I have since recommended Blade to several of my friends. ### 5/5 — Fantastic Service *2023-06-24, version 1.3.1* I can’t recommend Blade enough. I flew Nice to Monaco in a private helicopter with some friends and the service from pick-up to drop of was excellent. I booked a flight for my son joining a few days later but his flight was cancelled and he missed his Heli. Julie in Customer service was amazing and allowed me to change the booking very easily and I used it as a return back to Nice. Will definitely use again and recommend to friends.
