## What is BlahBlah?

BlahBlah - Message Your Future Self

Because some things are only worth saying to yourself.

# Sound Familiar?

You send links to yourself on WhatsApp. You text an idea to your own number before it disappears.

Millions of people do this every day — in apps never quite designed for it. BlahBlah is what that habit always deserved.

# What is BlahBlah?

BlahBlah is a self-messaging app for iOS, built around the familiar comfort of a chat interface — except every message is from you, to you.

Not a journal. Not a note-taking app. Not a to-do list.

A chat. With yourself.

# What You Can Send

A thought doesn't always arrive as words — so send text, images, voice memos (with on-device transcription), links with rich previews, locations, and Apple Music cards.

# Capture From Anywhere

See something worth keeping in another app? Tap Share to send text, links or photos straight into BlahBlah.

BlahBlah controls live in Control Centre, the Lock Screen and the Action Button — one tap to a note, voice, photo, link, music or location. A Quick Capture widget and Siri & Shortcuts capture without even opening the app.

# Two Voices, One You

Sometimes the clearest thinking isn't a monologue. It's an argument.

Dialogue mode splits the conversation into two sides — rational and emotional, question and answer. Set names and avatars for each role, then start talking.

# Write to a Past Moment

Backdate records a message to an earlier date and time — yesterday's forgotten note — then drops it where it belongs in your timeline. A Premium feature, from the "+" menu or Control Centre.

# Look Back

BlahBlah helps you return to yourself:

• On This Day — what you wrote a week, a month, even a year ago. A banner surfaces it, or a daily reminder brings it to you.
• Daily Reflection — a gentle question to look inward, fresh each day. Open it from a widget, reminder or Control Centre; your answer keeps the question with it.
• Streak — a Home and Lock Screen widget counting your days in a row, current at a glance.

# Find Your Past Self

Search and browse your whole history:

Search by keyword, browse by type — every photo, location and link — or filter by date range, tag (Starred, Idea or your own, AND/OR), and dialogue role.

Tap any result to jump back to that moment.

# Keep It Just Right

Long-press any message to edit it in place. Edited messages are automatically tagged so you can find them again.

# Make It Yours

This conversation is personal — so make it look right:

• Five bubble themes, from Classic Blue to Sakura Blossom
• Plus message alignment, timestamp frequency, corner style and bubble tail

# Free vs Premium

Free covers the everyday — text, photo, link, location and music messages, editing, resending, On This Day, iCloud sync, and a 20-message taste of Dialogue mode.

Premium unlocks voice memos with transcription, up to 9 photos a message, unlimited Dialogue mode, 10 custom tags, place and music search, full search history, batch actions, and every personalisation option.

# Private & Everywhere

BlahBlah syncs across all your Apple devices via iCloud — no account, no server, no analytics, no third parties. Everything stays between you and your devices.

Your inner monologue is yours alone.

BlahBlah — Say it. Save it. Come back to it.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.21 — 2026-08-01

This update adds a Storage Breakdown screen so you can see exactly where your data goes, plus richer, more honest "On This Day" memories.

# SEE WHERE YOUR STORAGE GOES
New in Settings: a Storage Breakdown screen shows how much on-device space each kind of message — text, photos, links, audio, locations, and music — is using, with a simple donut chart and a per-type list. Pull to refresh anytime you want an up-to-date read.

# MORE FROM "ON THIS DAY"
On This Day now gathers memories from every past year that matches today's date, not just one — so a well-loved date can bring back several years of past selves at once.

Plus a few smaller fixes under the hood.

### 1.20 — 2026-07-14

This update gives BlahBlah's chat screen a Liquid Glass refresh on iOS 26, plus a playful new look for the Our Apps section.

# A GLASSIER WAY TO COMPOSE
On iOS 26, the compose bar now floats over your conversation in Liquid Glass, so your messages scroll smoothly beneath it instead of stopping at a hard edge. The same goes for the selection toolbar when picking multiple messages. The context bars above it — for editing, quoting, reflecting, and backdating — float and blend in the same way, so editing a message or answering a reflection prompt feels like one connected compose area rather than stacked bars. On earlier versions of iOS, everything keeps its familiar solid look.

# OUR APPS, JUST FOR FUN
We gave the Our Apps section a new look for no special reason, other than to make BlahBlah-ing a little more delightful. Pop into Settings and see for yourself. Prefer things calm and classic? One tap switches you back to the plain list.

Plus a few smaller fixes under the hood.

### 1.19 — 2026-07-07

This update brings a much richer set of reflection prompts, reminders you can actually count on, and a round of polish to iCloud sync, link previews, and Apple Music cards.

# MORE REFLECTIONS TO DISCOVER
Daily Reflection now draws from a much wider pool of prompts, so you'll go a lot longer before a question repeats.

# REMINDERS YOU CAN TRUST
On This Day and Daily Reflection reminders now check in with your device's actual notification permission, not just the synced on/off switch. If a reminder is turned on but notifications aren't allowed on this device, you'll see a clear prompt to enable them in Settings — so a reminder you turned on elsewhere never quietly goes silent here.

# iCLOUD SYNC, EVEN SMOOTHER
A round of refinements to how BlahBlah keeps your devices in step: the sync indicator is now a quiet spinner with no label, staying out of your way; if you're already at the bottom of your conversation when messages sync in from another device, you're kept right there; custom tags refresh immediately after restoring from iCloud, no restart needed; and the restore indicator no longer disappears too early during the brief pause between setup and your data arriving.

# SHARPER LINK & MUSIC CARDS
Link previews now size their image naturally instead of cropping it, with a sensible cap so a tall preview image can't stretch the layout. Link and music cards are a little wider for easier reading, and search results now show a keyword-centred snippet so it's clear why a link matched. Apple Music links from other regions — say, an artist only listed on a different storefront — now resolve correctly instead of falling back to a plain link.

Plus a few smaller fixes under the hood.

### 1.18 — 2026-06-25

This update brings a smoother experience when browsing your message history, improved reliability across multiple devices, and better handling of Apple Music links.

# SMOOTHER HISTORY SCROLLING
Scrolling back through your messages to revisit earlier moments now feels noticeably more fluid. As older messages load in above, your reading position holds steady.

# BETTER ACROSS DEVICES
BlahBlah feels more consistent when you move between devices. After iCloud sync completes, your full message window refreshes in place so everything is right where you expect it.

# APPLE MUSIC, MORE RELIABLY
Pasting an Apple Music link now handles more situations gracefully — links that couldn't be fully resolved are kept as plain links, so you never lose the reference.

Plus a few performance improvements under the hood.

### 1.17 — 2026-06-23

This update keeps your reflections whole — the question now travels with your answer — and gives Quick Capture two new ways to live on your Home Screen.

# YOUR REFLECTION, QUESTION AND ALL
When you answer the daily reflection, the question now stays with your message. Scroll back and you'll see it resting above your answer, exactly as it was asked — and it turns up in search, too, so a memory is always easy to find again. Prefer things tidy? A new setting groups repeated questions, so a run of answers to the same prompt shows the header only once.

# QUICK CAPTURE, YOUR WAY
The Quick Capture widget comes in two new medium sizes. One lays all six starting points — text, photo, voice, link, location and music — in a single row, each its own one-tap shortcut. The other arranges the same six as a roomy 2×3 grid with larger icons. Add whichever fits your Home Screen.

# A TIDIER "+" MENU
The things you can send now sit as a clean icon grid at the top of the "+" menu — quicker to scan, easier to reach.

Plus under-the-hood performance improvements and refinements.
