It requires multiple information boxes that should not even have to be filled out to send out a request to fundraise. The app itself is a ginormous pain to navigate and feels like you are going in circles trying to find the location of a particular feature. Not to mention, the app itself is unbelievably slow that it shows that videos are uploaded, when in fact it is taking a WEEK to process (not an exaggeration). I wish this app upon no school to use for fundraising as it is unreliable, shady, and inconvenient. If your organization is considering using Blast Athletics, please look elsewhere to find a better alternative. ### 1/5 — I am permanently traumatized *2023-03-10* The representative that came to my school skinned my best friend in front of my entire team and then drank his blood. I had to rely on another parent the whole season to get information that should have been easily accessible to me (she’s neighbors w/ the coach so that’s how she got the info). The coaches that I talked to dislike the app, also, but are forced to use it through their organization (which seems to post for the coaches instead of allowing them to do the bulk of the communicating?). Thank you Blast!!! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Absolutely Sickening *2026-03-14* This app serves as a fundraiser for many high schools, mine included. First of all, when presenting this fundraiser app, I was told, along with many others that the only way they earned money was by an ad in the corner, this was a complete lie and people must donate to see anything that has to do with my sport. Secondly, Blast takes around 23-30% of all donations for themselves, the school that actually needs the money receiving only 70-77%, a majority but still disgusting. Third of all, when you put in numbers to the app (or website) texts are sent saying that it’s you texting not the company, saying you’re merely texting from the team number, a blatant lie. This whole app and fundraiser concept is sick and an absolute insult to all of sports and fundraising. ### 1/5 — Horrible app *2026-02-19* Super hard to navigate and shady features in fundraising. One time donations are large amounts while a $25 donation is set up as a “monthly recurring” donation. So many athletes are listing grandparents and great grandparents as potential donors, and I doubt that the majority of them notice the “recurring” aspect of their donation. What sets it apart right away is how it gives each program its own dedicated website making it incredibly easy to share highlight clips, photos, game results, and practice schedules all in one place. It becomes a true central hub where athletes, families, and supporters can stay connected. Communication is seamless, whether it’s one-on-one, small groups, or the entire program. Everything feels organized and easy to access, which makes a huge difference during busy seasons. Another standout feature is how Blast Athletics supports programs beyond just communication. It allows teams to fundraise, accept donations, and even sell spirit wear directly through the platform. But what I really appreciate is their approach they don’t pressure people. There’s no constant flood of emails or texts, and they don’t sell your information. Supporters can choose to donate, but there’s no requirement to be part of the community. Unlike other platforms that bombard you with messages and never seem to stop asking for money, Blast Athletics takes a much more respectful approach. After the initial 30 days of outreach, the focus shifts away from fundraising and onto what really matters—sharing updates, celebrating highlights, and building a strong, connected program. Overall, Blast Athletics strikes the perfect balance between functionality, community, and respect for its users. It’s a game-changer for teams looking to stay organized, engaged, and supported without all the noise. ### 5/5 — Blast Athletics more tan a fund raiser *2026-04-07* Greenville High School Track and Field Teams have been very happy with Blast Athletics and Coach Tom Creguer. Every season we have exceeded expectations. This is more than a fund raiser for our program. Blast has also helped me get back my sanity with having three athletes on eight different teams now that our school is using Blast for all the teams. I read the one about percentages—- totally wrong- we keep 83% and 90% of each donation 🤦🏽‍♂️ and Blast doesn’t have a “tip” that goes to the company! I was the coach that used to spend HOURS creating a weekly newsletter or email outline the upcoming events. Now, I can just coach and know that my families, athletes and alumni know what needs to be known!! My People that complained about the complexity of the App didn’t watch the NEW USER VIDEO or listen to me say, click the green triangle and send me a message if you have a question not answered. People come and go, but our program will continue to use Blast because it helps our program stay organized and RAISE MORE WHILE KEEPING MORE!
