### 2/5 — Took up waaay to much storage and deleted data

*2025-02-22*

Edit: this happened again, after I use the app, download then delete the videos. Please change this. It also crashed AGAIN!
This app was taking up 40GB of data after taking multiple videos, while my photos app only takes up 7 GB, then the app crashed and deleted all the videos so I couldn’t save the videos, then delete it from the blast app, and my phone kept crashing because it made my storage full. So I had no choice but to delete the app, which deleted ALL of my swing data even after I logged in, so noe my 6+ months of progress, videos, data, and PCR score are all deleted.

### 2/5 — Crash and feel burned

*2021-08-06*

App keeps crashing. Can not even get single session done. Last session at the cage I restarted the app no less than a half dozen times. Very frustrating.

### 1/5 — Poor support

*2020-06-11, version 5.5.3*

So far day 3 of problems. The phone number for support is only face paintings. No one answers or returns call. Several emails and no real attempt by them to resolve. We are trialing for team. Be aware support is less than helpful

### 3/5 — Works most of the time

*2020-06-06*

When it works it is great. Problem is when it doesn’t work. You have a great batting session with ball flight enabled; then you go back to try and open the app because it crashes and will not initialize. You lose all you data and swing video because it does not upload to the cloud. Very frustrating. But when it works it great, just seems to crash when you have great swings and cannot analyze the swings. Off loading the app and reloading it does nothing. It will still not initialize the app and you have to delete it and reinstall. That loses the data and videos; even though, you can see the space it takes up.

### 2/5 — Damage

*2020-05-10*

Not a cheaply priced product, but it appears to be a cheaply made product.... Several team sensors, including my daughters had broken less than 6 months into owning it.. Have already had to replace the rubber holder and now the sensor. So far spent $275 on this product and we’re not even 6 months into owning it... Hopefully our organization walks away from this or they make a better product... Or have a better warranty. No reason to have to buy two sensors in a 6 month period.

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2020-04-27, version 5.5.2*

What a waste of $150 just to get the thing, then another $60 a year for a subscription to the site. Over-rated & over charged junk. The app barely works. You are better off just spending a few bucks & going to a trained hitting instructor.

### 2/5 — Wish I had tried a different brand

*2020-02-15*

First I bought into the sensor ... $150, then I bought into the year subscription to the app/software $60. NOW ... all I can say is, “Why the heck does this thing cost so much!?!” The app itself crashes more than a 2 year old playing Mario cart. In fact, it’s the worst app I own. Logging into your account online doesn’t offer the videos you’ve stored in the app. And when saving 3D videos of a swing to share, it tends to distort the video into a glitchy fast forward version of ... something totally worthless. The analytics sold it, the rudimentary technology that goes with it is why I suggest you try something else first. Sounded much better than it actually is!

### 2/5 — Break super easily, do not recommend

*2020-01-15*

The concept is a great idea. Having something to track your swings and the amount of swings sounds like something that would be useful and something that could improve my swing. However, in the span of 1 year I have had 2 blastmotions break and am currently on my third. This is a pain, especially since over half the time it doesn’t work. Every week I find that I hit off the tee for an hour but it only counts under 20. For what it does and what it costs I do not recommend going through all the trouble of uploading swings constantly and receiving inaccurate results.

### 3/5 — A little more work needed

*2019-05-23*

It would be nice if you could add videos and at-bats after the fact to sessions. It would also be nice if all your work (regardless of being in a session or not) would sync with the Blast Connect. Just because it’s not in a session doesn’t mean I had “an easy week”. I’m still swinging and working, sometimes I forget to put it in a session. Maybe for the next update?

### 1/5 — Ridiculous

*2019-01-24, version 4.8.1*

Absolutely ridiculous to force all users to watch a video with zero meaning or importance. Trying to upload swings and can’t because of an u skippable video that restarts every-time the app is left. Makes me want to delete, horrible.

### 1/5 — From Swing Analytics Platform to Glorified Swing Counter

*2026-05-19*

I purchased Blast as a Christmas gift this past December 2025 for my daughter who plays competitive travel softball because it USED to be a legitimate swing analytics platform. The value was in the ability to track swings over time, review reports, analyze trends, and export data for deeper evaluation. That was the entire point.

From December to now, Blast has quietly gutted the very features that made the platform useful.

Blast Connect is being retired.
Player Reports were removed.
Data syncing stopped.
CSV/Excel export functionality does not exist.
And according to support, there is currently no timeline to bring it back EVER.

What makes this especially frustrating is that support previously told users export functionality was being worked on for the future. Instead, the opposite happened, features disappeared.

So what are you actually left with?

A glorified swing counter inside a mobile app.

That’s it.

If you are a parent, coach, travel player, or serious athlete looking for long-term player development and analytics, understand this before investing money into Blast hardware and subscriptions: you no longer truly own or meaningfully access your own data outside the app.

In 2026, with AI-powered analysis, video breakdown tools, automated trend tracking, and advanced baseball/softball analytics rapidly evolving, removing export and reporting capabilities is honestly shocking. Most serious users want MORE access to their data, not less.

The frustrating part is that Blast already had the foundation. Instead of evolving into a modern AI-integrated analytics ecosystem, they stripped away core functionality and locked everything into a watered-down mobile experience.

Support was polite and transparent, but the product direction itself has become deeply disappointing.

There are now far better options emerging for players and families who actually care about analytics, AI-assisted development, historical tracking, and owning their own performance data.

Unfortunately, Blast no longer appears to be one of them.

### 1/5 — App update makes app worthless

*2026-01-19*

Purchased sensor in November 2025 knowing I was only going to keep trends using the free metrics offered. Now I’m met with a subscription page, which blocks from seeing even the free advertised metrics. The subscription page offers a free trial. I clicked on the free trial and was immediately billed for 1 yr subscription. Thankfully Apple refunded. But now I’m back to square one and still getting the “free trial” subscription popup page blocking access. Total waste of money. Do not purchase the sensor unless you plan to pay for the monthly or yearly subscription.

### 1/5 — Latest update makes it worthless

*2025-08-14*

The latest update forces you to subscribe for at least $50 a year to see any data on any swings! Just put in some ads and keep the data limited for the free version! Total waste of money at this point do not spend it to by a sensor unless you plan on paying the subscription as well.

### 1/5 — 2025 bats not in database

*2025-04-30, version 5.15.2*

Honestly, the sensor works pretty good, but I’m surprised and a little frustrated that none of the 2025 bats that have been out for quite a while are loaded into the program. Glass please update it with the 2025 bats.

### 1/5 — Impossible to cancel auto-billing.

*2023-03-04, version 5.13.1*

They hide the ball so hard on cancelling.

### 1/5 — Buyer Beware

*2022-05-11*

Sensor and the feedback are great. No complaints there. Once you get the hang of using the sensor and the app at live speed it’s effective. Of course once we got the hang of it, the sensor flew out during a live game swing and there was damage to the back side of it. Called into blast…any physical damage not covered by the manufactures warranty…lol to an object that collects data from a softball bat…lol.

### 1/5 — 台独港毒

*2021-04-13*

注册的时候选择国家，把香港和台湾列为国家了，强烈抵制，你一个体育软件掺和什么政治呢？

### 1/5 — Ugh

*2021-04-10*

The Blast device is quite nice and the data it offers can be helpful. This app is awful. It often doesn't load. When it does, it's glacial. Ball flight NEVER works. Ever. And every single update crashes it and requires a reinstallation.

So the device is good. The app is painful.

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2021-02-26, version 5.7.2*

Swings don’t appear for download. Sensor connected all green but when you try to download the swings they are not there. Junk.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Softball star

*2026-03-24*

My kid got a new bat was struggling with hand speed. The device captures realtime swings and can see what the different swing speeds/individual metrics. Plus the HR derby game makes them want to use it again and again. Also purchase price was reasonable and shipping was 2day FedEx. I ordered on Thursday and it was at my door Monday. Highly recommend this one.

### 5/5 — A game change

*2026-02-17*

The Blast bat sensor has been an absolute game changer for my 12U travel softball player. We are able to track important metrics like attack angle, rotational acceleration, and on plane efficiency. Practice has gone from just hitting off the tee and the cage, to being able to tailor our hitting sessions to pinpoint specific areas of need. We are able to see hitting deficiencies and work on those areas, which wouldn’t be possible without Blast. This sensor is recommended and used by our travel ball organization CA.

### 5/5 — Love the product, hate the app

*2023-06-01*

The app is so poorly done and constant freezes. When it works it is great but I constant have to close out of the app and reopen to get it to work. Especially annoying in the middle of using it. Very frustrating because the product is great but app design is terrible

### 4/5 — New but love it

*2026-03-06*

Love it. It’s great for showing bat angle and bat speed although for some of the features you have to pay membership for. Still getting a hang of it since it is new, but I love it so far

### 4/5 — Feedback

*2026-02-16*

It’s a great tool to help your athlete. Helps you improve your hitting with the feedback you’re given.

### 4/5 — Needs some work

*2021-05-14*

Needs to be updated or something. Ball flight is good for a couple of rounds. The when you open it app crashes every time

### 3/5 — Nice sensor; Poor Customer Support

*2026-04-29*

Just started using the sensor with my 10 year old. The real time feedback is very helpful and helps with immediate swing adjustments. My only criticism so far is customer support. I paid the annual fee but my account does not show me as a paid user. I’ve tried multiple times to contact customer support but they are unresponsive. No one returns emails or picks up the phone. Hope someone helps soon.

### 3/5 — New update

*2025-09-22*

Having already shelled out several hundred bucks for Blast Motion sensors, this recent update now forces you to subscribe to annual / monthly fees beyond the first 10 swings for even the basic metrics. Be prepared.

### 3/5 — Not bad but camera doesn’t work

*2025-08-21*

Interesting to see numbers. I’d love to use the camera but any time I do the screen is just blank.

**Developer response:** Hi there, I'm sorry to hear that you were having trouble with the camera when using the application. Typically, restarting your device before jumping back into the application should resolve this! If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to support@blastmotion.com.

### 3/5 — Took up waaay to much storage and deleted data

*2025-01-27*

This app was taking up 40GB of data after taking multiple videos, while my photos app only takes up 7 GB, then the app crashed and deleted all the videos so I couldn’t save the videos, then delete it from the blast app, and my phone kept crashing because it made my storage full. So I had no choice but to delete the app, which deleted ALL of my swing data even after I logged in, so noe my 6+ months of progress, videos, data, and PCR score are all deleted.
