The price for a full unblock is reasonable, and there’s no silly subscription to spoil the party. Unfortunately, there are only 4 tracks.What it needs to reach 5 stars is 4 more tracks, many more and varied samples (possibly as IAP packs) and AU3. De início usava a versão gratuita, não ligava muito, mas aviam alguns bugs que deixavam o processo maçante. Tem um tempo que comprei a versão paga, desbloqueei as ferramentas novas e tudo mais, mas atualmente o aplicativo está com alguns bugs novos que estragam completamente a experiência. Quando começo a mexer mais profundamente personalizando o som e saio da janela de configuração daquele som em específico, ele soa completamente diferente do que eu programei. E em outro caso, quando vou alternar de projeto para projeto, é como se o painel duplicasse e ficasse ao mesmo tempo um em cima do outro. E tem outro bug, só que mais antigo, às vezes, eu não sei porque, mas os sons perdem a sincronia e eu tenho que reiniciar o app para voltar ao normal. Gostaria muito de verdade que solucionassem esse bugs, pois o app em geral é bem prático e bom de utilizar. Além disso, sei que tem como ficar bem melhor se os bugs fossem resolvidos. Foi por aqui que conheci o app e acho que ele é uma boa porta de entrada para o app principal, mas que se os problemas não forem resolvidos, pode acontecer de sujar a visão do app principal como produto. No momento se eu fosse escolher, ficaria recluso em comprar o app principal. It could be just added to the same menu where the edit pattern is. It would be great to see visual representations of patterns in the main menu, not their names only. ### 4/5 — Good, but not quite there yet. *2019-10-21* Once you get the hang of this thing, it's deceptively robust - for all the minimal GUI choices, it delivers all the nitpicky fun most synth dorks crave. The main reasons I'm loathe to go Pro are a) it's somewhat redundant if you already have a groovebox like Groove Rider (though I prefer the onboard synth engine & samples here) & b) the drum machine is limited to 12 or 16 beats, which feels oddly restrictive. If it stays in relentless development & keeps offering new goodies like GR, I might pick up the full version a few updates from now. Lots of promise & good sounds... just a bit undistinguished at the moment. **Developer response:** Thanks a lot for your review mambonassau! Well the PRO features offer more functionalities than any other groovebox do, (such as GR16) : indeed, for example, with the PRO version of the BLEASS groovebox, you get multi audio (separate) audio outputs for use in other DAWS, or full midi in/out/sync features which you might like to use to extend your experience further than in any other groovebox. Also, we constantly update the BLEASS groovebox with new features, and since its launch one year ago, we've made several ones introducing new samples (over 1000 available currently), new instruments and features... stay tuned, other updates are to come! Finally please note that you can go up to 8 bars for each sequence (in both binary and ternary modes), this is not limited to 12 or 16 beats, but 96 or 128 per sequence if you increase the bar number. And you can add virtually a limitless number of sequences, especially in song mode, as the BLEASS groovebox song projects support hundreds of sequences... I like your approach, and it’s a strong v1.0, I only dropped to 4 stars because I can think of a few improvements for v2.0 and beyond, many of which I’m sure you probably already have on the list. The one thing I keep thinking of right now is when the clips are looping, it would be good if they maybe had a countdown of beat number in maybe a semi-transparent number behind the clip name, so that you can more clearly see how long it has left before the next clip triggers. Likewise, I feel like stopping the clips doesn’t feel easy enough, it seems you have to wait until it plays out, so it would be good to have a more immediate (even ‘panic’) way to stop a clip. But well done guys, look forward to unlocking the full version and seeing where you go with it. **Developer response:** Thank you very much for your review! Some people might take that seriously . **Developer response:** We do take it seriously since 2018 :) ### 1/5 — I hate to do this, but 1 star is as far as I can take this. *2023-06-08* picked up Groovebox on October 11th, 2022. On the 15th, I picked up Monolit, Phase Mutant, and Omega. At first, Groovebox seemed very promising. Unlike my traditional desktop DAW, I am able to build up complex sequences relatively fast. With my primary DAW, I actually get tired of tweaking the same sounds and sequences over and over again. Groovebox makes this simple. So what’s the problem? I have never been able to export a usable file. What is exported is a *.bleassprj file. I can toss it up to Dropbox, email it, etc… but what’s the point? A MIDI file would be more useful despite loosing most of the audio substance that you worked for. The actual sounds are not embedded in MIDI files. A WAV file would be priceless as I could load it into my DAW and build on it. Bottom line: I’m sure must be a way to export a sequence for further development. It’s escaped me for 10 months. My iPhone is the only device I have where an “Enable Ableton Link” is present. Ableton naturally pushes you towards adopting the full Ableton Live environment. The iPhone’s inter app functionality is janky at best. Besides, I shouldn’t have to use additional apps to realize the capabilities that convinced me to get this app in the first place. This goes for all Bleass apps.- BEFORE YOU BUY, find as many tutorials as you can that address Bleass and your existing system(s). I bounce back and forth between Windows and Linux platforms with no additional hardware. There are several apps in the AppStore that export usable files without jumping through hoops. I keep the Bleass apps installed in the hopes that a straightforward export functionality is discovered. **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback, and we’re sorry for the frustration with exporting files from BLEASS Groovebox. You can absolutely export WAV files and recover MIDI data. Here’s how: For WAV Export: Tap “Config” (gear icon) on the main screen. Switch to SONG mode. Set RECORD MODE to “ON”. Play your sequence, and the tracks will be exported as WAV files. These can be saved to your iPhone’s Files app or transferred to Dropbox, iCloud, or your Windows/Linux DAW. For MIDI Export: In “Config,” go to the MIDI OUT settings for each track. MIDI data can be recovered in two ways: If using Groovebox in standalone mode, connect a sound card to capture the MIDI output. If using an HOST app like AUM, route the MIDI OUT signal from each track to your desired destination (e.g., another app or DAW). For further guidance, check the “Tutorials” section on www.bleass.com or contact our support team at support@bleass.com. Let us know if you need help setting this up! ### 2/5 — Overpriced, underdeveloped app. Misleading description of pro features IAP *2019-03-27* You are limited to just routing L & R, it’s not full, true IAA routing. Description is misleading. This app is WAYYYY to limited and beta to be worth the IAP price... **Developer response:** There is no IAA routing and we have never claimed such thing: sorry if the description misled you, we shall modifiy it in a next update! Please note that the audio routing feature is currently only external (to date, i.e. version 1.3.4, but watch out for the next updates as we improve constantly the bleass groovebox accordingly to our users' feedback) and has been designed for professional studio recording and live performance: that is, you need an external soundcard to use external routing : you can then go up to as many channels as your soundcard can support (we have tested up to 32 different audio channels so far...) If you happen to have only routing to L&R, this is because you don't use an external soundcard but only your built in headphones or speakers. If you feel that the PRO version of the BLEASS groovebox is limited, or overpriced (as BLEASS groovebox is free by default to offer the possibility to test it first and then unlock the pro features through in app purchase), we then encourage you to spend a bit more time exploring it, have a closer look at the features, and why not, watch our tutorials on youtube.com/BLEASS ! You'll discover that the BLEASS groovebox offers unique features that you can't find in any other app, such as 9 different synth per sequence, or the Chords feature which offers a brand new way of composing music as well as its unique interface with big buttons and sliders, designed for live performance! ### 2/5 — Not Great... *2019-01-11* Frustratingly average. The synth sounds are too basic and making everything sound twee. It looks, feels and sounds simple. Obvious omissions like no pan controls make it unusable. Needs a big upgrade of synths and controls. Ihr Hinweis ist dabei sehr hilfreich. ### 3/5 — Trapped on my iPhone *2022-10-18, version 1.7* I started off with Groovebox and ended up getting Omega, Phase Mutant, & Monolit as well. I’m starting to think that I put the cart before the horse. Perhaps I should have given the export feature some attention before putting together a track/beat that I’m really proud of. Export doesn’t appear to mean “export as a standalone audio file that you can play in any media player”. I have an iPhone, an old laptop, and a beats audio system in my car. While I was a DJ in the early-to-mid 90’s, all that equipment is gone. But the music still lives inside of me. I obviously got in over my head with Bleass. A musical instrument needs to be immediate to make it fun for those who play it. It has become my go-to app for creating ideas on iOS. Please, BLEASS, continue to support it and add the AU multi-out functionality so we can record multi-track sessions in apps like AUM. ### 5/5 — Perfect: Great sound, simple UI, and runs on older devices. *2025-06-23* This is the ideal app to turn (not only) older iDevices into a Groovebox. While this app is not quite there the work ethic and the consistency of the company is an indication that there may still be hope for this Groovebox yet ;) **Developer response:** It's been updated since, and hope you're still making music with us. ### 5/5 — Sehr intuitiv und modular einsetzbar *2021-04-19* Super App. Wenn man bedenkt, was man Knete ausgibt auf OS X für Plugins, bekommt man für etwas mehr als 10€ eine richtig Chris gute Groovebox. Man bekommt mal so nebenbei richtig groovige Sachen hin. Dicker Pluspunkt ist, dass man seine eigenen Samples Laden kann. Perfekt mit Audioshare. Der Alpha Synth von Bleass ist auch Hammer. Ich habe eben ganz schnell eine fette Bassline in der Groovebox gemacht, via AUM gespeichert und via SD Card in die TR8s importiert und machendes weiter und zurück ins iPad. iOS ermöglicht ganz neue Perspektiven. **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback, it's been useful :) ### 5/5 — Killer! *2021-04-06* I feel like some of these reviews are from limited exploration of the app. From my use of this app, this is really intuitive, feature packed and completely capable of pretty much anything you’d want or need in a groove machine of this sort.
