### 4/5 — So great but I have one concern

*2025-01-23*

I love this app and it looks so user friendly. I wanted to recommend it some of the parents of my beginning readers. However, when flipping through the blending board on my own, I inadvertently made a “bad word.” Even if it spelled like a nonsense word, students could still decode this. I know I can control which letters or change to avoid this, but to the creator of this app: is there a way for you to turn off certain combinations of letters so they can’t make swear words?

### 4/5 — Needs an option for fourth column

*2023-09-28, version 1.2*

This app seems like it will be super helpful, but I need the ability to add a fourth column so I can add suffix s.

### 4/5 — Edit Current Decks

*2023-05-01*

This app is almost perfect for my OG instruction, but I wish I could edit my current decks to add newly learned concepts. The developed sounds already provided are fantastic. As some reviewed, there are certain consonants and digraphs that should only be in the first or third column, but unchecking unwanted cards is great. I really appreciate that any card can be created. I have toyed with the idea of creating rote/red word cards because of this feature. Excellent app for managing multiple card decks!

### 4/5 — Good

*2023-03-01*

Pretty good so far but wish I could edit and delete decks after creating them. Maybe you can and I can’t figure it out but not sure.

### 4/5 — Super useful for OG!

*2022-08-30*

I teach reading using the Orton-Gillinham approach! I love this tool for my virtual sessions or even to mix it up in person!

One thing I would suggest to the developers is to have a way to edit the decks. I messed up creating a couple and now I am stuck with it!

### 3/5 — Needs one more key feature

*2021-05-22*

This is so great, but I still can’t use it with my students because of one key feature that’s missing. Maybe I’m missing it, but I dont see the ability to multi-select several groupings within each column. For example, in column 1, I want all consonants AND blends. Right now, it’s either/or option only. I can’t use the + ‘blank’ option b/c it is limited to only one add’l custom tile. An alternative is to have an option in each column, that includes ALL possibilities, where you can just de-select what the student hasn’t learned yet. If you add either of these options so the decks are a true reflection of paper OG cards, I would use it in professional tutoring. Right now, I would need to build multiple deck variations for one child. Keep up the great work!

### 4/5 — Great app!

*2020-10-09*

Love this app! So much easier than fumbling with cards! I would love it if you could select more than one thing for each column. For example, I want to utilize single consonants and beginning blends in column one.

**Developer response:** You can! When you’re creating your deck, tap the pencil on your selected letter set for a column to bring up the set editing screen. You can tap to select/deselect letters, and add your own with the plus, and (I think this is what you are looking for) on the left side you can tap the plus to add another letter set to it and combine them! Then just hit the check mark to confirm your changes.

### 4/5 — ABC order only

*2020-10-08*

I like this blending board, it is a great way to help me organize my different decks for all my classes, but I wish I could randomize the sound cards because they are always presented in ABC order. Is there a randomized option? Very nice app to help teachers get started for online learning.

### 5/5 — Genius!

*2020-10-08, version 1*

Cannot wait to use this with my students! Thanks so much for this FREE app! ❤️

### 5/5 — Fantastic!

*2020-10-08, version 1*

Unbelievable app to help kids learn to blend sounds in words! Thank you!!

### 1/5 — Phonics without sound?

*2025-11-22*

I am confused by this app. No phonics sound which is what I am trying to learn.

### 1/5 — Problem with adding letters

*2023-03-10, version 1.2*

I was so excited to use this app! However when I add the letters ch in the third column the letters show up in the second column as well! What am I doing wrong?

### 1/5 — How does this even work?

*2021-11-15, version 1.1.1*

Seems like I’m flipping through random letter tiles none of which connect to make actual words

### 1/5 — No shuffle

*2020-12-12, version 1*

There should be an option to randomize the order in which the cards are presented.

### 1/5 — Great idea, but terrible design

*2020-12-07*

I love the picture on the app when you search for this. It has the clear white cards with yellow for vowels. However, after you download it, the cards look much different and are barely visible. I wish it looked just like the picture on the App Store. This was not clearly thought through when developing this app. It clearly needs an upgrade. So disappointed.

**Developer response:** The app should look like the screenshots you see. It could be possible that you have dark mode on and that may make the cards look different than what is shown in the screenshots.

### 2/5 — No sound

*2023-11-22, version 1.2*

This is a nice application but there is no sound for kids/parents to check if they are sounding the words well.

### 2/5 — Make it possible to select ind letters

*2022-09-01, version 1.1.1*

It would be better if individual letters could be selected so that a teacher cold do word chains.
Thanks for considering

### 3/5 — Needs a few tweaks

*2022-05-26*

I use the OG method to teach my reading intervention students. This app is a nice break from using our drill cards. However, there are letters or digraphs that can’t ever be at the end of a word such as ‘wh’ or ‘h’ so students are unable to read those words. Also, for CVC words ‘w’ or ‘r’ will come at the end of the word which change the vowel sound, so those words aren’t really CVC. Developers, feel free to contact me because I would love to give you my thoughts on how to make this even better.

### 3/5 — Latest Version

*2022-02-20*

I’ve recently found this useful app and am exploring its features. After watching the video (on the website, not through the app), my practice with features has led me to mostly happy results. The functionality in regard to ease and flexibility of creating personalized decks with beginning, middle, and ending sounds is great! I am not finding success with changing the theme color or background (pumpkins, eggs, etc.). When I click the paintbrush, the color options and screen settings appear, but I can only get the screen settings g (dark, light, auto) to change. I deleted and re-installed the app, but that didn’t change anything for me. Thank you in advance for your support.

### 3/5 — Confused

*2022-01-18, version 1.1.1*

I love the idea of this app, but there is no sound, why can’t I hear the sound

### 5/5 — Love it, but

*2022-09-13*

This is a great app for phonemic awareness and phonics skills, but there are some areas I’m struggling with. I would love to be able to edit my decks, instead of just deleting and redoing them. Also, I put “beg” in column 1 and it keeps showing up in column 2, which is not going to work well with students. Are you able to make these improvements please? Thank you for making this great app.

### 5/5 — AMAZING APP!

*2021-08-16*

This App is an AMAZING Educational App for my students. It addresses the needs of students with blending deficits like no other App on the market!

I hope you will bring the previous colors back to life. The new colors appear very dark on my MacBook screen. The sound cards pop up with dark shades of green and gray, and the background colors are no longer clean, bright, crispy and clear. If the developers can help me fix this issue, I will be eternally grateful! I use this App all the time with my students!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2021-02-08*

This is a great tool for practicing decoding words. I use it as a warm up in my reading groups. Is there a way to use it in a laptop so I can project it on my whiteboard?

### 5/5 — Perfect!

*2020-10-12*

This is perfect for any age. I work with middle and high school students and it is so hard to find material that is suitable for them.
This is easy for everyone to use and it is visually very easy on the eye. Excellent job!!!!!!!!

### 5/5 — Thank you!

*2020-10-11*

This is the answer to my dreams, thank you both so very much for your hard work in making our lives easier. I can not wait to use this with my students. ❤️❤️❤️

### 5/5 — Love this!

*2020-10-10*

This is such a great app. I share my desktop with my remote students. Have y'all thought about expanded this and making a program for computers?

**Developer response:** It is available on MacOS!

### 5/5 — Amazing tool for virtual learning

*2020-10-09*

I love this! It’s exactly what I’ve needed and didn’t know it. I’m enamored by the versatility. My only feedback is to maybe fix the combo of short vowels and the /k/ sound. While playing I was given the combo of cl a c - which should have been clack - I don’t know if “c” can be removed as an ending symbol or if “ck” can be added. Either way, it still gave me the chance to talk about the “ck” rule with my student. I highly recommend this!!

UPDATE: love that the developer sent me a message telling me that I can update decks and disable certain cards! Can’t wait to play around with this this weekend!

**Developer response:** Glad you’ve been enjoying it! When you’re making a deck, if you tap the little pencil icon next to the letter set you have the ability to disable certain letters or add your own. Hope that helps!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2020-10-09*

I wish this app could be used on my computer during Zoom meetings with a small group of kids.

### 5/5 — Finally!

*2020-10-08*

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for to help my student learn to blend words. I love the different options for the various levels!

### 5/5 — Fabulous!

*2020-10-08*

This is a fabulous tool to support parents and their children learning how to read with a systematic approach to teaching phonics and reading. This is an app that will greatly benefit ALL learners! Thank you for sharing! I’m recommending it to all my 1st grade students’ parents during our distance learning.
