Blind'a is divided into two roles: the person playing matchmaker, called a seeker; and the single person, called a blinda. Everyone can participate and Blind'a allows the seekers to present their friends from their unique point of view. Friends know each other best and know exactly what to look for in a potential match. HOW IT WORKS - A seeker creates or edits a profile for their single friend, the blinda - Once the profile is approved, the seeker can search for matches - If two seekers find a match for their blindas, then those two seekers are put into a chat - After talking, one seeker requests to connect a pair of blindas - If the other seeker agrees, then the two blindas are now put together in a chat ***The app is currently geo-restricted that the single blindas have to be located in Southern California, but their seekers can be located anywhere. Blind'a looks to solve several of the lingering issues with mainstream dating apps. The fact that connections are based on seekers vetting potential matches, leads to higher quality matches, and ones that are interested in relationships! People spend countless hours on dating apps with no results, so Blind'a at least helps to distribute the load amongst friends. It’s still early on so excited to see where this app goes. ### 1/5 — Interesting concept, poorly executed *2023-01-22* Super confusing to set up and use this app. Needs better in-app guidance and a better way to connect with friends since the only way to get matches is if your friends use the app for you (which I think will be this app’s biggest downfall… who wants to regularly make matches for someone else outside of a fun night out? We should have the option to match for others _and_ ourselves IMO) **Developer response:** Hello jcurreee, sorry for the delayed response here, and thank you for taking the time to submit valuable feedback. We are working on updates to help smooth out some of the onboarding as well as provide in-app guidance just like you stated, so hopefully these updates will help with that. It is always going to be a bit more confusing when you're dealing with an extra connection for every user. To your second point, I can see your concern, but at the same time, this process is what differentiates us. Our thought is that currently, if you wanted to look for yourself, you're much better off using an established app, so why would you try a different app if you just wanted to look for yourself? The goal is for the app to be made up of individuals who DO want to make matches for their friends and family, because we believe this process will drive more high quality matches that are intended for relationships, not just hooking up.
