But you have a couple bugs to figure out. Like you should update on your locations. And when you’re coming to a corner it should say what two streets you’re at. And the accuracy should be a little bit better than 16 feet. ### 5/5 — I feel naked wihtout it :) *2022-04-14* At first i had to get used to this app but now lately i feel naked without it, i have it always on now every time we leave home . I have a single sided newbee earpiece over the ear and it talks to me every way i go its not distracting to me its a matter of getting used to . You dont want it too loud when you are with others but for a permanently blind person having a voice taklng in your ear where you are is very nice and i dont have to ask each time 'where are we now ??' I havent used it on my own walking tho only out with my sighed wife but like i said i would miss it if i dont have it with me :) mak, love the updates got 5g now i hope this will become more precise with the new technology. For instance, 350 ft. E. 1st Street right side, W. 1st St. left side or something like that. I would love to see this in Blind Square. Browsing the reviews I see others asking for this as well, so it would be quite a welcome feature. I have sensory overload and that can be a bit of a toll. I thought this would help and it doesn’t. I can’t even log into my Swarm account. I put in the right password so that I could link this but apparently I can’t. This app made a lot of improvement in my personal opinion. This is why I gave it a one star review. I’m hoping to talk to the developer so that maybe there would be a demo of the app before you buy it instead of spending the $39.99 for it. I got this app on my phone and was immediately displeased with it. ### 1/5 — BLIND people pay extra to use voice on BLINDSquare? *2023-01-14, version 5.44* I’m BLIND. After paying $39.99 to get the app, it appears that a BLIND person has to purchase voice command credits to use voice commands for the BLINDSquare app. I’m emphasizing BLIND because an app for BLIND people should not be free for sighted or low vision people and have extra fees for BLIND people. I want to be wrong about this but it’s impossible for me to get through all the instructions since I can’t read them. Voice over would take forever to get through the instructions, too. What am I missing? Am I correct or incorrect about this? Next version will support also iOS 9.0. ### 1/5 — Absolute garbage *2020-03-09* This APP is NOT worth the 55USD! It does not do what they say and the APP does not even work properly. The App has the wrong bus numbers and does not give door to door directions nor does it give turn by turn directions. The mute speech does not even work. The shake gestures will not give you closest transit stop. I really regret purchasing this app! ### 1/5 — Poor reliability *2020-02-02* I am a certified orientation and mobility instructor in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. I used this app in my training programs for several years with good success. Unfortunately, the app is no longer working properly. I contacted the company. They appear to have fixed one bug with the most recent update, but other problems remain. BlindSquare could no longer recognize some familiar shops and cafes that are found on google and Apple Maps. Directional headings were variable and unreliable. ### 1/5 — Not worth it yet, doesn't do much *2012-05-26* This app is trying to be a better version of around meGPS, and my way However, it is doing none of them really well. This app reads to you in a non-voiceover voice locations nearby. It does a good job of using the foursquare database to find locations that are near you. However, the filtering, targeting, and other features are hard to get at. Especially, when the app is reading to you. Also, it's integration with voiceover is poor. The volumes of voices can be different, they can be reading at the same time, and other problems come up. In short, the app is hard to use, uses an unnecessary voice, and is not doing what is been designed to do. We should wait and see what happens next but this is not worth $12 right now ### 2/5 — Doesn’t work the way it once did *2025-08-25* This was my go to app for blind travel and it was always a five star app but something has changed and I can no longer give it the recommendation that I once did. I have used this app for many years but it does not seem to provide as much information about my surroundings as it did. What has changed? Also, I’ve noted that people talk about the cost of this app. I have never paid for it and there are no charges to download it in the App Store. Am I getting reduced functionality because I don’t pay? Why is this? Cependant, après plusieurs semaines d'utilisation, je dois dire que l'application ne justifie pas son prix de 45 €. **Facilité d'utilisation** L'interface de BlindSquare est intuitive, mais certaines sections pourraient être simplifiées pour une meilleure expérience utilisateur. Lorsqu'on est dans l'application pour faire les champs de recherche et pour simuler un emplacement, c’est bien fait, mais je suis déçu du reste. **Fonctionnalités** Bien que BlindSquare décrive les choses autour de moi, je suis déçu par rapport à ce que j'ai vu sur Internet et les réseaux sociaux. Lors de l'utilisation du GPS pour des trajets d'un point A à un point B, l'application ne fonctionne pas bien. Elle ne donne pas de détails sur le nombre de branches aux carrefours, ce qui est crucial pour une navigation sécurisée. Pour une application destinée aux personnes malvoyantes, il est essentiel qu'elle annonce avec précision quand tourner à droite ou à gauche et qu'elle donne des indications claires sur les arrêts de bus ou de métro à proximité. Par exemple, j'ai un arrêt de bus et un arrêt de métro près de chez moi, mais ils sont à au moins 15 mètres l'un de l'autre. Cela devient problématique lorsque l'application annonce simplement qu'ils sont "à côté" sans préciser la distance exacte. **Performance** La performance de l'application est également un point de déception. Parfois, elle ne donne pas les bonnes distances, même avec un téléphone de bonne qualité et une bonne connexion. De plus, le Bluetooth à l'intérieur des bâtiments ne fonctionne pas toujours correctement. Parfois, les cadrans de montre connectés ne fonctionnent pas bien non plus, indiquant des distances incorrectes. **Expérience utilisateur** Les descriptions vocales sont utiles, mais elles manquent souvent de précision, surtout dans des situations critiques comme les carrefours. L'application devrait prévenir l'utilisateur avant qu'il ne dépasse son point de destination, par exemple en indiquant "dans 8 mètres, tournez à gauche". Il est également crucial qu'elle indique le nombre de branches aux carrefours. **Support et mises à jour** Le support client est correct, mais l'application a besoin de plus de mises à jour pour résoudre les problèmes mentionnés et pour s'adapter encore mieux aux besoins des utilisateurs malvoyants.
