### 5/5 — Fun

*2023-09-13*

Update: got LFOH working with Blip Box. Not sure why I had issues. All good now, & thanks to the dev for getting back to me.

This thing is able to produce some great sounds. But it won’t modulate parameters within AUM with a MIDI LFO. It’s possible to assign the lfo, but the app won’t react to it.

**Developer response:** Hi c6y, glad you're having fun with Blip Box! Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We are able to use Rozeta LFO in AUM to modulate parameters, please send us a support email so we can help figure out what is going on.

### 5/5 — Great sounding drum synth

*2023-09-08, version 1.0.1*

This is a lovely sounding and straightforward drum synth to use. It pairs well with any good drum sequencer (I’m using 2 instances of Playbeat 3 to control all 16 voices) and it works great in both iOS and on Mac OS, so I can enjoy on the move and in the studio.
I hope the developer continues to add more useful yet simple features to this as the product matures.

Highly recommended!

### 3/5 — Great sounds, but only 13 presets and no random option

*2024-07-07, version 1.0.2*

Nice UI, really good sounds, and works well as an AU. However, it does take a while to create a new sound on each pad, and as there’s no copy and paste (or drag to copy sounds to each pad), it means starting from scratch each time. And there’s only 13 presets (though you can save your own). A randomiser is essential for this sort of app, as it produces ‘happy accidents’, and starting points for your own ideas. I would use this app much more with a randomiser feature, as it is its going to take a fair amount of time to build up my own library of presets.

### 4/5 — Amazing sound, minor limitations

*2025-12-30, version 1.0.2*

Absolutely love Blip Box, the sound quality and sculpting tools are great!

My only qualm would be that as it can take a long time to create sounds, often I’ve lost any spark by the time I have made a kit. Sometimes I want to boot up and play around with whatever a drum synth has spat out.

With limited built-in presets and not many people sharing presents online, it would be great if we could randomly generate presets or per-pad sounds? This would be a great addition

Thanks Sketch Audio for the great work!

### 4/5 — Not Happy

*2025-02-24, version 1.0.2*

Was really expecting something more than this. As basic as it gets. Reminds me Commodore 64 sounds and wasn’t expecting that for the money. Would take a refund if possible

### 4/5 — 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨

*2024-11-26, version 1.0.2*

Can you Please add more seconds of holding down the button to pull up the options on the pads or use a two finger tap to activate it…. It’s very annoying accidentally activating the pad menu.

### 4/5 — One problem here...

*2024-07-06*

The digital drum sounds are pretty cool and the app has very easy to use and understand controls. Also, the fact that your one-time purchase works on iOS, iPadOS and macOS is a huge plus. BUT the pad assignments do not follow the General MIDI Drum Map, so the app cannot simply be swapped out with a normal drum plug-in. This is not great for productivity in a production environment. Other than this, I love this thing!

### 4/5 — Machinedrum for iOS

*2023-11-24, version 1.0.2*

Soundshaping enthusiasts dream. Great app, thank you for the universal purchase working on all platforms. I wanted to suggest two things: 1) the ability to lock the pad so that the menu stops popping up while playing. 2) in that locked mode, allow “legato” style playing, by that I only mean that you can slide your finger between pads and trigger them without lifting your finger. This is one of the killer features you can only do on a touchscreen, so that would be awesome to take advantage of!

### 5/5 — I really like it.

*2026-06-23, version 1.0.2*

Some sounds remind me those in Korg Volca Drum, which I really like. I’ve had it for just a few minutes but I already know it’s a great app. Nice interface, very easy navigation. It is immediate. The sounds have a bit of imperfection to them, sometimes a bit of buzz, sometimes some distortion, which makes them more pleasing to the ear.

### 5/5 — Sounds beautifully synthetic.

*2026-06-10, version 1.0.2*

Sometimes real acoustic drums aren’t what you want. This has lovely artificial hits, good stuff.

### 5/5 — Not a Simmons Drums emulation, but something possibly more interesting

*2025-04-17, version 1.0.2*

Yes, you can get very close to the classic Simmons Drums sounds from the 80’s, but this kit has a bit more going for it. Built in options for extreme distortion, for example, can get you closer to a Nine Inch Nails sound if you like. Deceptively simple to use, but loaded with creative possibilities.

### 5/5 — Best drum synth going

*2024-11-20, version 1.0.2*

This is my favorite drum machine app. The AUv3 support has led me to use it on pretty much every track. I genuinely love it. It is fantastic value, especially since you can use it on your MacBook without paying twice (I’m looking at you, baby audio)

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2024-04-08, version 1.0.2*

I’ve had this app for a few months but am only now really delving in and sculpting sounds and I have to say, having just sold my Syntakt, this makes me feel like I’ve lost nothing, it’s so much fun.
I can’t seem to map any parameters to the modulator in Logic Pro (iPad) but other than that this thing is amazing.

### 5/5 — It’s awesome!

*2023-12-22*

Tweaker’s paradise! Sounds great. 😎👍🏼

**Developer response:** Thanks for taking the time to leave a review!

### 5/5 — amazing

*2023-12-16, version 1.0.2*

for anyone who is into electro this is a must have or any other eletronic music no need for any other drum synth you will not be sorry buying this great work

### 5/5 — Great!

*2023-11-28, version 1.0.2*

Awesome percussion synth that works great for making unique drums. The interface is very clean and easy to understand. I love how quickly I can put together a usable kit in it.

### 5/5 — BLIP

*2023-11-08, version 1.0.2*

As advertised, this inexpensive drum synthesizer combines plenty of percussion-design punch in a straightforward interface, at a fair price. What's not to love?

### 5/5 — The best pure drum synth for live jamming

*2023-10-17, version 1.0.2*

I love this app. This is the best pure (no samples involved) drum synth for live jamming.
The manual urgently needs a section about the pads. It took me a while to discover the long-press menu offering “Focus mode” and the copy/paste functionality. Otherwise many people will sequence their Blip Box, stare helplessly at the dancing controls and probably turn their backs to this wonderful app. BTW: I would use “copy” and “paste” instead of the lift/drop.
