## What is Blocade?

Outsmart your rival in a race across the board — then wall them out. Blocade is a fast, brainy turn-based strategy duel: every turn, either advance your pawn toward the far side or drop a wall to block your opponent's path. Plan two moves ahead, trap them in a detour, and sprint home. Easy to learn, genuinely hard to master.

If you love strategy-style and blockade strategy board games, this one's for you.

PLAY HOW YOU WANT
• Beat the bot — pick your difficulty, from a gentle warm-up to an opponent that thinks several moves deep.
• Ranked online — get matched with real players, climb the rating ladder, and prove it.
• Play a friend — share a private code and duel anyone, anywhere.
• Puzzles — solve handcrafted positions, plus a fresh Daily Puzzle every day to sharpen your tactics.

LEARN AND IMPROVE
• Game Review grades every move after the match — see your best plays and your blunders, chess-style.
• Pick your coach — Selah, Kai, Vale and more, each with their own voice — and they'll break down what went right and wrong. Unlock new coaches as you build your streak.
• Friendly and Assisted modes let you take hints and undo while you learn; Challenge mode is the pure, ranked test.

BUILT TO FEEL GOOD
• Clean, tactile board with smooth drag-to-place walls.
• Light and dark themes that follow your system.
• Quick matches you can finish in a few minutes.

MAKE IT A DAILY HABIT
• Crack the Daily Puzzle and build a day streak — optional reminders help you keep it alive.
• Your coach greets you with a quick challenge each time you return.

Prefer to try before you install? Play free in your browser at playblocade.com.

No account to create — Blocade signs you in automatically. Choose a display name, jump in, and play. Want to keep your progress safe? Sign in with Apple to back up your account and pick up on any device anytime.

### 1/5 — latest update ruins the game

*2026-07-18*

The only place to play matches with real people was the open lobby. With the latest update it claims to "find matches faster" but instead it just added more bots and put them in the open lobby. So the only place where you could've watched and waited for real people to match up with is now flooded with bots masquerading as real people. Now the only actual place where you can be confident that you're playing a real person is in the tournament which no one shows up for or by memorizing the usernames of actual people and waiting for them to search for a match in the open lobby. Remove bots from ranked matches altogether it makes no sense!Especially if you get matched up with a bot with a 2000 plus rating and they're terrible because the AI isn't even good enough to close a route after it's been trapped to move forward. They literally just move around in circles until they lose and your reward is +1 in your rating. Meanwhile i'm sure if you lose your rating and rank would plummet. If you're going to flood the game with bots and give them all fake ratings at least have the wins and losses reflect as though you're playing real people! It's just unbelievable what a bizarre charade. I can't imagine how this game could be playable without fixing this.

**Developer response:** Thank you for writing this out in detail. This is exactly the kind of feedback that helps me fix the right things, and you're right about the parts that matter most.

Two of the issues you flagged were genuine bugs, and both are already fixed in the update rolling out now:

• The rewards were broken. Winning a hard game and seeing "+1" was never intended. The rating math was over-discounting wins. Wins now pay out properly, and losses are handled more fairly, so the risk/reward finally makes sense.

• The AI weakness you described, wandering in circles and not closing a route after being trapped, was a real blind spot in how the AI read wall positions. I rebuilt that part of the engine, so it defends those spots now instead of drifting.

On top of that, I'm building a whole new grading system that rewards skill directly. It awards points for standout plays, the kind of brilliant moves that set off the lightning strike so many players already love, so sharp play gets recognized on its own rather than living or dying by a single rating number.

On matchmaking: when there aren't enough live players in your range at that exact moment, the game fills in so you're not stuck on an empty lobby. But I hear you that I leaned on it too hard. Growing live-player density (and getting tournaments to actually fire) is a top focus right now.

I'm a solo developer, and I read every review. Come join our Telegram, t.me/blocadeapp, where I reply to every message instantly. Give the next update a shot, and if anything still feels off, tell me there and I'll keep at it. Hoping to earn that fifth star from you down the road.

### 1/5 — pay wall

*2026-07-11*

fun game but will not pay get ads like everyone else

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback! We don’t show ads right now, and we’d like to keep it that way. If ads are ever introduced in the future, they’ll only be for free players to help support the game, while premium players will continue to enjoy an ad-free experience. Thanks for giving Blocade a try!

### 1/5 — Paywall after just a few matches.

*2026-07-05*

It’s a fun game, don’t get me wrong, but I played like 5 matches and got hit with a paywall. $30 or $5 a month. I don’t know who this dev thinks he is, but this game is in no way shape or form worth $30.

**Developer response:** Hi AceFace81, thanks for giving Blocade a try and for being honest with your feedback.

I completely understand why the paywall was frustrating. I just wanted to clarify that the lifetime upgrade is $29.99, and it’s a one-time purchase that unlocks unlimited matches and every premium feature forever. We also offer the monthly option for players who don’t want to pay upfront.

The version you played was literally the very first public release of Blocade. It actually started as a side project, and after unexpectedly reaching over 10,000 downloads in just two days, we had to quickly introduce match limits to make the game sustainable while we continued building it.

One thing that was important to me from day one was keeping Blocade completely ad-free. Personally, I don’t enjoy games filled with ads or constant interruptions, so instead of going that route, I chose a one-time lifetime purchase to support ongoing development and server costs.

Since that first release, we’ve added new features, improved the gameplay, fixed bugs, and made the game much more polished. We’re still building Blocade every week, and there’s a lot more coming.

If you’re open to giving it another shot, I’d also love to invite you to join our Telegram community. I personally read every message there, so it’s the fastest way to share feedback or ideas directly with me. Many of the improvements in the game have come from player suggestions.

Thanks again for trying Blocade. Whether you decide to come back or not, I genuinely appreciate your feedback.

### 2/5 — Smh

*2026-07-05, version 1.3.0*

Yeo why is there a limit on how many games you can play

### 2/5 — Okay…

*2026-07-04*

Too much Ai, almost felt like this came was made entirely using vibe coding and not actually meticulously crafted. It works, but patterns, prompts, and even ui can be correlated to other pvp games which makes the game feel inauthentic. Add the Ai usage and it feels like a quick cash grab. Moreover, the main moving point would be the pvp ranked mode but you have to pay for that so if you want a free experience you have no choice but to play against bots. Good game, mediocre execution.

**Developer response:** Hi, thank you for taking the time to write such detailed feedback. I genuinely appreciate it.

I completely understand why the first version gave you that impression. The version you played was literally the very first public release of Blocade, and at the time it was still a side project. We launched expecting a small community, but after reaching over 10,000 downloads in just two days, we had to move much faster than we anticipated to scale the game and continue development.

While I do use AI as a development tool, every game mechanic, balance decision, and feature in Blocade is something I’ve personally designed, tested, and refined. AI helps me build faster, but it doesn’t build the vision or make the gameplay decisions for me.

Regarding ranked mode, we introduced the limit because we needed a sustainable way to support the game’s servers and ongoing development. Instead of filling the game with ads or energy systems, I chose to offer a one-time lifetime purchase. Personally, I don’t enjoy ads in games, so I wanted Blocade to remain completely ad-free.

Since the version you played, we’ve added new features, improved the gameplay, fixed bugs, and made the overall experience much more polished. We’re still building every week, and this is only the beginning.

If you have more ideas or feedback, I’d love for you to join our Telegram community. I personally read every message there, and it’s the fastest way to reach me directly. A lot of the improvements we’ve made have come from community suggestions, and I’d love to hear yours as well.

Thanks again for the honest review. I hope you’ll give the latest version another try. I think you’ll find that Blocade has come a long way, and we’re just getting started.

### 5/5 — Fun game!

*2026-07-04*

Just like how it looks on TikTok, can play online but the bots are just as good

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for the amazing review! It means a lot that Blocade lived up to what you saw on TikTok. I’m especially happy to hear you enjoyed playing against the bots, I spent a lot of time making them feel challenging and fun, not just like placeholders. Thanks for being an early supporter, and I hope you keep enjoying the game. ❤️

### 1/5 — Don’t download this

*2026-07-04, version 1.3.0*

It was great until the last update. Now I have to pay 40 bucks to unlock unlimited matches. Now I can only play one game a day…

### 5/5 — Cool game

*2026-07-04*

Smooth gameplay addictive and fun crazy devs one of the best free games

**Developer response:** Marzoukii, thank you so much for the awesome review! It genuinely means a lot, especially since you played the very first public version of Blocade.

Reading messages like yours is what keeps me motivated to keep building. I’ve been working hard on new features, gameplay improvements, and polishing the experience, and there’s still so much more coming.

If you haven’t already, I’d love for you to join our Telegram community. I personally read every message there, and it’s where I share updates, listen to feedback, and chat with players.

Thanks again for supporting Blocade from the beginning. I’m really glad you’re enjoying it! ❤️

### 5/5 — Blocade

*2026-07-03*

Good game don’t listen to the bad reviews. It’s probably only rated bad because people are losing but this is a really good game for strategy

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for the 5-star review, Magnus! I’m really glad you’re enjoying Blocade. Your support means a lot, especially this early in the game’s journey. I hope you continue having fun, and I’d love to see you in our Telegram community! ❤️

### 4/5 — Fun but..

*2026-07-02*

It’s a fun game but the overly AI usage is just annoying. It’s enjoyable but I mean it really turns someone down from a game honestly.

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for playing Blocade and for taking the time to leave honest feedback. Reviews like yours are incredibly valuable because they help us make the game better.

One thing worth mentioning is that the version you played was one of our earliest builds. Since then, we’ve released several updates, and the latest version is much more polished with lots of improvements based on community feedback.

Also, you don’t have to play against the computer. Head to Play to get matched with real players online, or invite a friend with a link/code for a fully human match. If the AI felt too challenging, you can also lower the difficulty or enable Friendly / Assisted Mode for a more relaxed experience.

If you’re open to giving Blocade another try, we’d love to hear what you think of the latest version. We’d also love to have you in our Telegram community, where players share feature requests, report bugs, and help shape future updates:

https://t.me/blocadeapp

We genuinely appreciate your support, and we hope we can earn that ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 3.1.1 — 2026-08-25

Royale countdown on the Play hub

Blocade Royale now lives on the Play hub with a live countdown, so you can see
when tonight's bracket opens without going looking for it. The countdown
tightens as the final hour runs down and shows how many players have boarded.

Chat sounds

Quick-chat is still a fixed tray of preset phrases with no free typing, but five
chips now make a noise: "bruh", "fahhh!!", "let me cook", "v-boom" and
"aura -1000". Each one is marked with a pulsing ring, so you know what's about
to be loud before you tap it. "aura -1000" is free for everyone; the other four
sounds are a Plus perk. Muting still only silences your opponent, never your own
chips. Locks on the chips you haven't unlocked are clearer, Plus members get
creature bubble skins, and the full phrase set is on by default, with an off
switch in Settings under Chat.

Bots that actually block

The four easiest bots (Pebble, Momo, Tuk and Juno) can finally place walls. They
were never able to block at all, which is why a beginner's first game used to
finish in half the moves of everyone else's, and their descriptions have been
corrected to match how they now play. The rest no longer burn moves on walls
that change nothing on the board, they defend corner traps properly, and the
difficulty matching holds steadier when you're on a winning run. New players get
a fairer opening ladder instead of being thrown at bots well above their level.

Honest friend status

Leaving the app marks you offline right away instead of showing you around for
another minute. A friend who has only just closed the app is labelled "Just
left" — usually the best person to challenge after whoever is actually online.

Streak freezes you can see

Freezes you've banked now show up as a frozen flame on the home screen, so you
know your streak is covered before you skip a day.

Clearer ad privacy

If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", the app no longer shows you an advertising
consent form at all, and ads are never personalised. Where consent does apply,
you can change or withdraw it any time from Settings under Legal & Support.

Also fixed

Clips you share keep their sound. Match clips were exporting silent for some
players.
The ranked leaderboard hides players who have gone inactive, so the board shows
who is actually competing.
Your opponent's name fits on the match screen instead of being cut off.
Replays pause when you leave the screen.
The friends list stops offering to add people you're already friends with.
Referral rewards no longer go missing on install.

### 2.2.0 — 2026-07-24

"What's New"

We've been busy making online matches feel more alive:

• Chat that starts itself. Your opponent now breaks the ice, and a
quick tip shows you how to fire back — good game, nice move, or a
little trash talk, all one tap away.

• Your coach reads the room. Win or lose, they've got something to
say about how the match actually played out.

• Gentler ranked. A rough loss won't tank your rating as hard as it
  used to.

• A fresh look for Blocade Plus, more reliable game reviews, and the
  usual polish and fixes.

Thanks for playing! Got a bug or an idea? Reach us from Settings.

### 2.1.2 — 2026-07-19

• Ranking up feels like it should — full-screen promotion moments, league badges, and a "New peak" banner when you set a personal best.

• Play a friend, keep the friend — anyone you duel is added to your friends list automatically, Plus and champion badges included.

• Better replays — rewatch any match with the VS matchup card, live chat bubbles, and smoother move-by-move playback.

• Plus the small stuff — the clock now counts tenths in the final 10 seconds, and we fixed settings, leaderboard, and tournament glitches.
