## What is Block Spam Texts | Dont Text?

Dont Text creates a junk folder in your messages app and sends spam texts to the junk folder for you. With Dont Text installed and enabled on your device, you never get notifications from annoying spam texts and spam is automatically sent to your junk folder. Dont Text makes it easy for you to block spam texts on your device by getting started it in minutes.

Block Spam Texts from Email Addresses
Start blocking all spam text messages that come from email addresses. Turn on the toggle to Filter Email Senders in the app and Dont Text will block all incoming spam texts from email addresses.

Customize Filtering
Dont Text allows you to customize how you block spam texts. Inside the app, you can create keywords to filter text messages from unknown senders. Create a blocking keyword to filter any text containing that keyword and send the text to junk. Use allow keywords to prevent important texts from accidentally ending up in junk and make sure you never miss an important text.

Block Texts By Phone Number Area Code
Block unwanted texts by filtering by area code. Add an area code to the app and all texts from that area code will be sent to your junk folder.

Privacy
Dont Text does not save your contacts or texts. Dont Text only checks text messages from unknown senders to filter spam. Dont Text cannot access text messages between you and your contacts, or any texts that you send. Dont Text can only check incoming messages from a number not saved in your contacts and this information is never stored. When a text is filtered, Apple restricts the information Dont Text uses to block spam and your phone number or personal information is never shared with us.

I am so happy I stumbled on this app! I was getting 15+ (sometimes 20+) political text messages DAILY. This app stops that! It’s working beautifully! Thank you to the developers!!

Seems  due to iOS 26 system restrictions, all third-party spam SMS and phone apps are ineffective, and Apple itself cannot effectively block spam. Similarly, third-party browsers are prohibited from using plugins, yet Apple integrates various browser plugins into Safari. Furthermore, the system cannot be downgraded to previous versions. This increasingly feels like domineering rather than privacy protection; privacy concerns are merely an excuse. 
Therefore this shows that Apple is more concerned with itself than with user experience. And user experience is like a marketing gimmick; the same goes for privacy protection in my personal experience.
Based on my experience with Apple China, I feel that Apple's privacy protection and policy restrictions on applications are like a big rogue managing small rogues.

Therefore this app is useless. Although it runs on iOS 26, it doesn't block spam SMS messages. The filtering rules still follow the system's built-in rules。

I now no longer receive those annoying political texts 20 times a day which were so distracting that I would switch text alerting  off which meant I would miss important texts from friends and family. This app was easy to set up and use. I am so grateful to have restored the use of text messages without those annoying political texts

When I first downloaded and set up this app (I paid for the higher level service and automatic filtering) it worked great.  All of my spam political texts stopped immediately.  Then beginning in October 2025 my iphone just started to blow up again with approximately 15 political texts a day.  I checked and DontText is still checked off  as what filters my texts.  It just isn’t working anymore.
