I love everything about the app but when im trying to piece together a song and i switch loops I’ve made it Instantly changes. Developers…PLEASE add quantized bar or beat switching of the loops, then it’s easily a 5 star app. Would be really cool if you could play the loops into a recorded timeline/arranger too then it would be Super amazing. Two things I expected to see developed over the years. 1. A searchable loop library from within the program should be a five. pretty basic feature in loop libraries. Especially ones we buy. 2. Key change at the sample level. For those who don’t know. In order to have a sample play a different “chord” in reveal from within the program. You have to flatten the sample and change the key at the sample level. If this feature is able to be changed at the sample level when you flatten a sample… it should also be available to change the key at the sample level without the workaround. That’s silly. If you want this program to have more widespread adoption. Those two things would be serious and simple upgrades. I found mic settings myself under privacy, but Blocs is not among apps seeking mic access. Suggest an update is likely needed to catch up with apple configs. Notation were saying 5 years ago they were planning on adding proper pitch controls for example and it never happened. For it to be properly useful it needs that at the very least. Am ended, and just recently gone back to check some loops I knocked up a long time ago to find that packs I used are no longer there and won’t restore . I love how you can mess with different sounds.. Tenía buena pinta pero esto no funciona!!! ### 1/5 — Warning if you lose your divide you lose your work *2023-02-15* I love Blocs Wave; it's such a fun way to make beats. In fact, I've made 180 beats in the past three years! When my iPad's battery became weak, I bought a new one and backed up my old device. All my apps transferred over fine, except for Blocs Wave. After spending 100 hours and exchanging numerous emails with support, the guy at Amplify was very helpful, but the issue was out of his control. The map between BW and LP doesn’t restore, so whenever I tried to open a BW project, I got an error message saying that some project files could not open because the launchpad packs weren't installed . However, they were all restored. But bloc wave cannot see them. After a week of back and forth, 20 emails, 10 failed solutions and at least 3 restores from scatch (even using other apps like imazing), I never got them to open. The final advice given was to manually export my favourite projects from Blocs Wave on my old iPad. But I have 180 files, and if I continue making beats, I'll have 360 in three years' time. This means I'd have to manually export twice as many again. The convenience of using BW is lost in the file management, so I'm moving to Beat Maker. It requires more work, (and i think better more unique results) but most of all it looks like I can switch devices with it, unlike Blocs Wave. Had I known that, I would have exported project files as I went. But it's just not clear that you'll end up trapped on your old device or face a week of moving files. The biggest risk though is if I lost or water damaged my ipad. I thought i was covered but i’m not. My only accessible copy of my music projects is hard set on the device i have. Even if the battery fails i could lose it all. That is just not a risk I want to take. Be warned. ### 1/5 — Lacks basic features even w/ Pro sub *2021-06-26, version 13.16.2* Every single pack is $1.99. There’s no bundling or one-time purchase for all packs, and you don’t get any w/ purchase of Pro subscription. You also can’t demo them other than listening to some short pre-made clips. You likely will need multiple packs to create anything worthwhile, and at $2 per pack, the price adds up quickly.
