The animations are smooth, the pixel art is clean, and the music is nice. There are a lot of issues with this however. The levels are really difficult to get 100% on, mainly because of the complexity of some of the special stars, placement of other specific items, and the amount of hazards scattered about (Icy Wastes was super difficult to 100% because of the blue shooting plants). I appreciate the blue flowers indicating the special stars, but some of them are still really difficult to get to (I literally had to look up guides for some of them). The last thing I need to discuss is the star balloon in Sky Fortress-1. You’re required to defeat a snail on the left and kick its shell to the right to bounce to the high platform. But the balloon is always offscreen no matter how fast you attempt to do it, making this balloon literally impossible to reach. I’m not sure if this is some issue with the device I’m using or a bug with the game, but either way this needs to be changed somehow. The fact that that particular balloon is impossible has steered me away from playing this game. I’ve gotten 100% on every level so far, but now I’ve reached Sky Fortress-1, and I’ve basically just stopped there. Due to 5-1’s balloon being unreachable, I have no other choice but to stop playing the game due to it being ruined because of it. ### 3/5 — Unfair *2023-09-20, version 1.3* No checkpoints ### 4/5 — Great game, fun, and challenging *2023-05-10, version 1.3* Some advice to developers: it would be so much better if you would let the kid have some type of weapon (or earn it). Also, it’s humanly impossible to finish before the timer goes off. That’s super frustrating and annoying. The balloon at the end of the stage floats away before you can reach it. You are supposed to be able to kick the snail shell to the right and then jump up to the higher platform, but with the screen resolution as it is, this is impossible. I have collected all the stars in every single level up until this point, which was not particularly easy to do; but now sadly I must delete this app before going any further, since my main objective was to complete the game 100%. BESIDES THAT this game was very enjoyable. Both Bloo Kid 1 and Bloo Kid 2 have an inclination towards puzzles that are slightly too difficult to the point of being annoying (again talking about collecting 100% stars), but I sometimes like being challenged in that way.
