### 4/5 — No longer provides subscription

*2024-10-01*

This app was one I would use during challenging periods in my life. Now when I’m back to a challenging period, I opened my app to get a subscription to see a message that they’re winding down service and no longer provided subscription?? I am shattered and shocked that such a high quality and effective app would just discontinue. Please continue the app or at least allow one exception and allow me to make a subscription

### 3/5 — Update needs fine tuning

*2024-09-15*

The giant update to be powered by AI was interesting and added a few nice features, but beyond that, nothing has been added since. How do you jump into a new update then stop developing further?

I love Bloom and always will. The CBT is amazing and the approach gives such grounding advice. I like the programs, the journal sessions got me through breakups, and the check ins are well designed. But the new aesthetic is unpleasant with the random women figures stretching or meditating. And the UX is a little bit hard to navigate at times.

Just needs some sign of updates and life on the developers end….

### 4/5 — Used to Recommend

*2024-04-17*

I used to recommend this app to everyone, and I used it daily to manage my anxiety and panic disorder in some of my worst days. Like most things, it works if you let it and depending on your willingness to commit to practicing what you learn and tuning in regularly.

I don’t like that there are not frequent updates on topics - the same content I watched 2 years ago is still what’s offered). There’s an extremely limited extent to the “courses” - after a few months you’ve basically done everything there is to do here. I also truly cannot get past the new look that they went with. It is unsettling and actually confusing in terms of navigating to the content I would like to consume within the app.

If I had to base it on the cons alone, I’d only give it 2 stars - hence why I no longer use it myself - but I hope they continue to develop it to be more helpful and not just showy, because the content really is so helpful.

### 3/5 — Update missed the mark

*2024-01-04*

I used to love bloom but the new update is way too bright. I would use bloom before bed but now it’s bright white with no dark mode. I much preferred the old purple. They also changed all the images over to strange, creepy AI images. It was easier to navigate before but now it’s hard to find things. I also used to have my daily routine setup with 5 things I would check off each day. Now i can’t do that anymore. I miss the old version!! I use it about 10% of the time I used to since the update. Such a shame as good content.

### 3/5 — Review based on new update

*2023-08-09*

I would have previously rated this app 5 stars. It has been an invaluable support tool for me. My yearly subscription is coming up for renewal but I’m unfortunately thinking of cancelling due to the new update. My daily habits have gone. Well they’re still there, but not the ones you select for yourself. You have to scroll through all of them now and there’s no real way of keeping track of which ones you are using. The AI thing has stopped working as well the last few days. It won’t generate my daily advice. So it’s kind of becoming a bit of useless app to be honest. Which is a real shame as I used to tell everyone about how good it was.

### 4/5 — Great, but lots of formatting issues on iPad

*2023-07-25*

I am just conjecturing, but it seems like this app isn’t tested on iPads before release; at least on my iPad Air gen 3 there are plenty of instances where the formatting is off.
Not counting the videos which are in portrait mode and obviously I wouldn’t expect a re-recording in landscape - that’s no problem.

### 3/5 — Good, but just got worse :(

*2023-07-15*

This is a good app, and is definitely helpful if you use it enough. I’m really not a fan of the changes to the UI in the latest update though. It’s so so bright to my eyes as someone who uses dark mode as much as possible. It makes me not want to use it because it’s so hard on my eyes. The app used to look great so o don’t know why that made this decision. I hope they add either a dark mode or a classic colour mode (unless there’s one already that I just missed.

I also find it’s a bit laggy since the update. Improved somewhat with a bit of time, but it’s not as nice to use anymore.

### 2/5 — Charged me $71 for FREE 7-day trial

*2023-05-31*

I’m sure the app’s great but unfortunately I’ve had to cancel, report and request a refund after they charged me $71 the very next day after subscribing to the trial period. Seems to be a recurring issue for them, according to the other reviews.

### 2/5 — App is ok, support sucks

*2023-05-20*

I bought the app in March. I haven’t been able to access my account from my iPhone at all, only from my iPad. I’ve written to support multiple times, apparently they can’t fix the issue because they’ve just stopped responding. I haven’t heard from them in over a month despite multiple follow ups.

### 3/5 — Hate the update

*2023-04-29*

I have used this app for some time. It was well set-out and has been helping me navigate my moods and think things through. I do not like the latest update however. It has taken away being able to set daily habits in our day agenda list. Now all the habits I set myself - you have to scroll through to find. I also don’t like that they’ve added in the AI therapy into our daily agenda. I want to choose and list all the habits I want to follow. Also the logging of daily emotion now feels very cold and non-interactive, just choosing emoticons. Hate it. Please return the previous functions. This update feels like a step back. It was a warm, inviting place before. Now it feels just like I’m pushing buttons.

### 4/5 — Really rad app!

*2023-02-20, version 2.10.1*

The good: great content that covers an incredibly wide field of emotions. Really teaches the basics of CBT to help users build a strong foundation. Programs are fantastic. I've had a really rough time the last 6+ months and this has been a game changer and mental health life saver.

Suggestions for the app developers: very small things! First: If you restart a program, it doesn't show up on your home-screen like it does the first time (and automatically loads the next days once completed). You have to either remember what you did or check your entries log, then go to the program and manually start the next video in that program. If there was a way to repeat an already completed program without having to go through these steps every time, it would be that much more better.
Second: it would be great if there was a way to collaborate with Apple Health so that this counts towards your "Mindfulness" minutes, similar to apps like "Insight Timed" have this sort of relationship. Like however long you have the app open while journaling or working a program.

Thank you all, keep up the great product!

### 5/5 — I love love this app!

*2022-12-28, version 2.8.0*

So, I came across Bloom because of an Instagram ad. I have been going to therapy since towards the end of 2020. Since going, I’ve been into learning more about therapy and circling becoming a therapist myself. My therapist has done some cbt techniques and was curious to learn more about it and find an app that would work for me when I want to take a break from therapy and come back for check ins with her. I’ve also shown her the app which and how I used a prompt to help me process losing a friend.

Not only does bloom remind me that I’m growing by its name, I always come away feeling better. I love the background music and the soothing voices. I’ve used different sessions to help understand family better and deal with a friendship break up (I would love a session specifically for when a friend breaks up with you). I love that I can track my growth through journal entries and the different prompts. It is definitely worth the $50 for premium. I would totally recommend if you are looking to boost mental health, growth and into cbt. Thank you bloom team for creating this app, the free trial, and the affordability for a yearly subscription! Excited fo see how it grows! :)

### 5/5 — This is what I’ve needed for a while!

*2022-12-12, version 2.7.0*

Given my background as a South Asian-American, first-generation undergraduate college student, I was always instilled with the belief that mental & emotional hardships were never as important as physical ones. But as I’ve gotten older, all of the above degrees of health have declined; I am now immunocompromised and even after my diagnosis, pushed my body and ignored my emotional & mental state.

I’ve only had Bloom for a short time but it’s exactly what I needed. The graphics of the app are calming and make navigating the app simple. Having so many helpful exercises at hand really makes grounding oneself and motivating oneself so easy.

I love it :’) my only suggestion would be to add exercises related to school. When I took the initial quiz which individualizes your program, I chose work in place of school as my main stressor. I do work part-time but school is my full-time focus and actual stressor. Some of the exercises underneath the work tab are applicable for me, but not all.

That’s all. Thank you and good luck to everyone! 🫶🏽🫂

### 4/5 — Awesome App

*2022-12-05, version 2.7.0*

I was initially against a CBT app because I thought therapy should really only be done with a therapist. However, I have made a good deal of progress in only a week of using the app that I haven’t made in a year of weekly therapy. It is also something I can do daily which therapy with my therapist is only weekly.

I only give 4 stars because the music doesn’t loop correctly. I had to turn it off completely which is sad because I really liked it. I’m also experiencing a good number of bugs like the app will appear in portrait mode when I am in landscape mode. Or I will write big journal entries for a course, but won’t be able to copy and paste it to my email for future work. I’ll press … buttons and nothing will pop up. It’ll just be a pointless button press. There’s also no computer mode, which I don’t understand. I have to use a bluetooth mini keyboard so I can type well enough. It’s too hard to really get my thoughts on page by thumb typing on my phone.

I highly recommend the app despite these.

### 5/5 — Day one of trial

*2022-11-29*

I’ve only done one day of the trial and I’ve used a lot of self improvement apps and have books and books on CBT. This app is just such a stress-free beautiful way to do reflections and guided CBT exercises that feels close to a Therapist but doing it in the comfort of your home. For me this is a great addition to the group therapy I already attend. I just finished a session on Self love and it was so beautiful. Thank you for creating this lovely app

### 5/5 — Life Changing

*2022-11-12, version 2.5.0*

I’m a new stay at home mom with postpartum anxiety and without any childcare. Because of my lack of childcare, I have been unable to get the mental help I need, because I am not able to bring my young child to appointments. But, I desperately needed help because my anxiety was getting out of control, and I was starting to feel hopeless because I felt like I would never be able to get the help I needed, at least for years to come.

This app however, without sounding cheesy, is honestly my light in the dark. I felt so hopeless, but then I found this and I feel motivated and I’m charge of my brain again and gave me the flexibility to get good help even though I don’t have any childcare support. I am beyond grateful that this app exists. It has and continues to greatly help me each and every day. I honestly believe that because of it, I’m going to be the type of healthy, good parent that I want to be, instead of being ruled by my anxiety.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Looks like this app is done

*2024-10-01*

Seems like you can’t subscribe any longer

### 1/5 — Unexpected Charge then No Response

*2024-06-25*

I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with the customer service practices of the Bloom meditation app. Upon noticing an unexpected annual subscription charge due to my oversight in canceling the service, I promptly contacted Bloom to request a refund, citing the fact that I had not utilized the app for an extended period. Initially, I received a timely response from an individual named Shane, who assured me that he would investigate the matter. Regrettably, despite this initial assurance, no further communication was received from Shane. Over the subsequent month, I made five additional attempts to follow up via email, all of which were met with complete silence. This pattern of behavior suggests an intention to disregard my legitimate request, presumably in the hope that I would abandon my claim. Such conduct is wholly unacceptable and reflects poorly on the integrity of Bloom’s customer service operations. As a matter of principle, I am now compelled to pursue all available avenues to obtain a satisfactory resolution. I trust this public review will prompt Bloom to reconsider its approach to customer service and address my issue with the seriousness it deserves.

### 1/5 — Cancelation not received, charged for services never used

*2024-03-19*

I had deleted and cancelled this app when it was going to move me to the pay service. After I got charged last month it took both myself and a company rep a long time to even find my account.
Now I still have a charge, for zero service.
Glad I could give one star as the customer service was prompt and polite.

### 1/5 — Hate the UI

*2024-02-06*

why did you guys change the entire design? Bring back the old design please everything is so hard to see and the neo futuristic aesthetic is just unsettling

### 1/5 — Annoying prompt asking for feedback after very session

*2022-07-09*

Can you please stop asking for feedback on the app after every session. After 20 sessions it would be fine but every session is very much a nag. Great app but this part feels poorly executed.

### 1/5 — In app purchases. DO NOT WRITE IN THE JOURNAL.

*2022-03-23, version 1.47.1*

You can barely do anything without spending money. I don’t understand why someone has to pay for help when the advertisement is saying it’s free. This isn’t why I’m writing a review, though.

I entered a description when submitting my mood, and I wrote a lot of meaningful things that I want to keep and reread. I went to copy paste it and it wouldn’t let me. I then tried to scroll down just read what I wrote and it wouldn’t let me. It would only let me scroll as far as my finger could go from the bottom, to the top of the screen. Now it won’t let me see what I just vented about. Like, I can’t even scroll to see the rest? Why is that a setting? Now I’ve lost a journal entry essentially, because I can’t see half of what I wrote. Please let me copy paste things in this app. Or let me scroll the way down on a description to a mood submission. That feels like the bare minimum.

### 1/5 — No ability to see past entries

*2022-02-09, version 1.43.0*

UPDATE: I received a response, however nothing has changed. I still don’t see any entries besides check-ins. Also, I’m stuck on repeat for the second time since I started. The Morning Show part has been the exact same one for days now. It’s supposed to be a different one daily. I keep saying this in feedback after the session, which apparently, no on actually reads. Once, it was the same one for a week. So instead of calming me or motivating me for the day, I’m aggravated and don’t want to bother with this. Neither of these issues are hard to fix, so you must not care.

Other than check-ins, you’re asked to do a daily intention and answer other self-reflecting questions. All of that is great but no way to go back and reflect on any of it. I want to see what I’ve written. I have to screenshot any answers or intentions and since I didn’t know I had to do this at first, I’ve lost the first few days. I want to see if I’ve done my intentions and how far I’ve come. I’ve reached out to support and on the second attempt, I was told it’s being “worked on”. Now eta of when resolved given. I’ve now asked twice for a timeframe because if this is not fixed soon, I would like a refund. Too bad, because there is potential here. I can’t keep taking screenshots of every answer. Disappointed.

**Developer response:** Hi there, we've released a new Entries view and hope it is a little better than before. If it's still not up to par we'd love to hear more: https://www.enjoybloom.com/contact

### 1/5 — Takes money before free trial is up

*2021-12-12*

Do NOT subscribe to this app if you're not 100% sure about using it. I wanted to try out its free trial, under the impression that it was free for under a week and then would charge you for a year. I tried the app and realised it wasn't for me. I unsubscribed within a day or less, and though that meant no money would be taken out of my account.

Unfortunately there must have been some info I missed about the subscription model. Even though I unsubscribed and have not used it since the 1st day I had it, it automatically registered me to one year, and took nearly £60 out of my account. Am now logging a refund request with Apple but this is making me really wary about any app that promises a free trial, as it seems like they just subscribe you anyway. (I am also certain that I did unsubscribe, as both the app and my Apple subscriptions page say that it is an active account but that it ends in 2022, and gives the option of resubscribing.)

### 1/5 — Yet another monthly subscription

*2021-11-26, version 1.40.4*

I was originally irritated that this was just another monthly subscription in a sea of monthly subscription plans out there, but decided to try it out to see if it would work for me.
This app is not for adults. I am a middle aged, married parent who struggles with loneliness and post-traumatic stress. All of the therapy sessions are targeted towards a younger audience with either rocky relationships, or struggling with being single. I haven’t been single in almost 20 years, and my marriage is pretty rock solid, so all of the relationship sessions were irrelevant to my life situation. There’s a tab for customization, but I didn’t see any changes. Once I put in that I was married and steady in my relationship, I was even offered a session on how to “slow down my relationship.” I wish this catered to different age groups and life stages, but it’s just not for me or my life, which was a huge bummer, because in person therapy is basically impossible to find right now

### 1/5 — Haven’t even gotten to through signup!

*2021-03-24*

Heard some good feedback on the app so decided to download it. Can’t get past the third step of sign up! After selecting a person, there is no action button for next or any response that my selection has worked. I can change my response but no action is done still. How am I suppose to rate the app when I can’t even sign up to use it first ??

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Changed my life

*2024-05-23*

Throughout my life I have had so many in person therapy sessions, and nothing has been as effective as Bloom. I know this won’t replace in person therapy for all, but It works perfectly for me as it raises deeply relevant and thought provoking questions that I have the power to process and answer in my own time; which can be absolutely whenever I need it! There have been many moments of both happy and sad tears, experiencing powerful breakthroughs that have truly changed my value of life, and I know myself deeper than I ever thought imagined. Thank you SO much Bloom team, as well as Mark. It feels funny to never have met but has the voice that’s empowered and guided me through so many tough times 💛

### 5/5 — Best App!!

*2024-05-15*

This has to be the best app I have come accross. I’ve been using it consistently now for a few weeks and can feel the change in my wellbeing. I have a better view of myself, am more assertive, have a different way of dealing with things, and my insecurity and anxiety levels have decreased. I feel good, happy, content, and I haven’t felt this way in a long time. Thanks for this amazing app - and Mike is a perfect coach. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their wellbeing. 🙏🏽

### 5/5 — One of a kind app!!!

*2024-05-05*

This is an amazing one of a kind app! I am in love with the responses it generates based off your journal entries. It is very personalized and has very much helped me though a lot of tough times, especially when therapy (or my therapist) wasn’t available. I also was starting to make use of the sessions for negative thinking with the speakers and it was very gentle and offered good realistic tools to utilize. I also enjoyed how you could input in the middle of the videos haha.

However, as I was going to renew my subscription today.. I was presented with a message that the services are winding down and that they are no longer offering new subscriptions. I am deeply saddened to see this app go, as I truly have not experienced another quite so personalized and in depth as this one. I hope it can return and recover in the future, because it will be hard moving on from this. The creators did a detailed phenomenal job at the work invested in this app, and I’m saddened to see it go. I wish I could support more. Thank you for all the tough times you’ve gotten me through. :) highly recommended!

### 5/5 — On and off

*2023-11-24*

I used a trial for this a couple of years ago which helped navigate some difficult situations. I’ve been wanting to try it again for a while so so purchased a subscription for a month and for the last few days it’s been helping again 😊 the old content still appears to be available which is also a plus!

A couple of issues though!

This newer version means the courses now have day-by-day access and the remaining content is locked until the next day. For a paid subscription I think this is ridiculous! You can easily navigate back to old sessions if required-locking them makes little sense unless it was a free app.

Can be glitchy at times with the videos. The sound seems to work fine, not sure if it’s the app considering others have had similar issues!

I think this app is great if you need temporary CBT help, not sure about long-term help at this point. I would consider an annual subscription if needed!

### 5/5 — I never post reviews, but this is incredible.

*2023-06-26*

I’m the past I’ve gone to traditional therapy and it was helpful to a point, but not all the time and it felt like my therapist never really got to the heart of my problem. After college therapy wasn’t in my budget, but when I came across Bloom about a year ago I decided to give it a try. It was great, but I didn’t keep up with it consistently. About a month ago I picked it back up again, and with all the new improvements I’m blown away with how helpful, insightful, and poignant the content is. Their diagnostic tool helped put me on a content course to help target my anxiety and I’m blown away with how much improvement I’ve had in the past month, honestly it’s much better than my experience with traditional therapy. The accessibly and impact have changed me for the better, and it’s also a great tool for people who want help, but struggle with isolating tendencies (like me). It’s also great because I can do it wherever, even if it’s curled up in bed at 1AM after a rough day. It really takes down any obstacles to pursuing help.

### 5/5 — The best, most useful self-help app I’ve come across!

*2023-06-11*

I am so grateful to have found this app because it has made a big difference in my healing journey. It is a great addition to my ongoing therapy. I especially appreciate the journal exercises. I have come to know and understand things about myself that I didn’t really think about. I love the variety of programs the app offers. And if my love for the app was not enough - recently, the addition of the ‘Today’s Advice’ feature has taken it to the next level for me! Being in the tech field, I truly appreciate how quickly the app has adapted to the latest technology and put it to use in such a beautiful and thoughtful way. I have great admiration for both the team responsible for developing this application and the company's mission and vision. I will be continuing to use this app and recommending it to many, many people. Thank you for creating this amazing app!!

### 5/5 — I love this app, and I owe a lot to it regarding how far I’ve come in my mental health journey.

*2023-05-21*

So, I’ve only been using this app for a week, but I already see a huge difference regarding my mental health. My anxiety and intrusive thoughts were really acting up this past week because of stress. But, I took the the first step in my healing journey by getting this app. I can’t say enough good things about bloom. It helps me sort out my mind and thoughts by asking their introspective questions and their relaxing activities. It make healing and learning better reactions+behavior to my anxiety and intrusive thoughts. So, yeah I’m very thankful for bloom and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this app for anyone starting/taking the first step in their mental health journey. It make a lot of it simple and not frustrating. Also, I recommend s to people who are just stressed and looking for a relaxing way to vent their worries.

### 5/5 — Best app ever!

*2023-04-09*

I’m so grateful that these guys decided to make an app so anyone who needs mental health support can access it.
I’ve done CBT before but because the appointments are often a week or more apart by the time I got to the next appointment I’d forgotten what I’d learnt the week before.
With this program I’m learning everyday and it’s finally starting to sink in and make sense. I’m getting better at calming and grounding myself, I can also “catch, check, change” when I notice I’m thinking not so nice thoughts about myself.
And Mike ahhhh Mike what a sweetheart. I’m glad I chose him as my guide as his manner is gentle and kind and I’m happy to see him every day.
Well done people for making such a difference in millions of people’s lives. You should be very very proud of yourselves.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2023-01-06*

I love this app. I have been using it about 3 days a week for over a year. I love to check in as much as possible and watch how my feelings fluctuate day to day and throughout the year. When I have difficult feelings I can pick a video to help me process my feelings and get unstuck. I’d definitely recommend this app if you need a daily check in, journalling and wellness app.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2023-01-03, version 2.8.0*

I have been using bloom for one year now and i love how it is able to help me develop as a person. Mental health with CBT is like working out. You need to do it routinely and practice periodically. This app app allows you to do that by giving you all the control but acting as a guide using leading questions. It opens your mind to using openness and curiosity as methods of exploring oneself. I only wish they would introduce a larger variety of concepts. It is very surface level and touches on problems very well at the surface but doesn’t really dive to deep into the concepts being explored. I wish it would have a larger variety of videos that were structured for people who have been doing CBT for a while.
