### 1/5 — Service is just about shutdown…

*2022-11-11, version 3.4.0*

The time lapse feature hasn’t worked in months, and my list of favorites is gone. The map shows other stations with their last captured image but no time lapse. Support hasn’t responded to an email request in months.

### 1/5 — Not real time!

*2022-10-30, version 3.3.12*

Terrible! BloomSky used to be amazing for real time up to date weather I look at a camera and 10 in the morning and the feed looks like it’s at 10 in the evening! I guess the servers aren’t up and running anymore ZERO stars if able

### 1/5 — Out of Business???

*2022-07-26, version 3.3.12*

Worked great until you stopped supporting your product, no time lapse, current photo or weather info, all favorites offline!

### 1/5 — Abandoned!

*2022-07-07, version 3.3.12*

Do not purchase any BloomSky product.

The company has abandoned support, and the background cloud infrastructure is no longer active. The products no longer works.

### 1/5 — Dead app, dead company

*2022-07-01*

The bloom sky device seems to be working still, but time lapses quit working months ago. Not it won’t show the current sky. I don’t think this company is still active. Multiple messages to support yielded radio silence. The app itself is useless. Much better weather apps out there. The only draw to this one was the 360 degree sky views and time lapse videos. Time to toss it all and move on.

### 1/5 — No one home

*2022-06-24, version 3.3.12*

Seems like BloomSky folded up their tent and crawled under a rock. There is no where for data to go anymore.

### 2/5 — Great while it lasted

*2022-06-19*

I have two BloomSky installations at different locations; our home and our mountain cabin. I have BloomSky and Storm at home and BloomSky alone at our cabin. They have performed remarkably well and we have depended on them for instantaneous weather info. We especially enjoyed the visible record of temperatures over the past week. Also invaluable, was the time lapse photo log for each week. I also had both stations integrated with WeatherUnderground. Alas, none of these aforementioned functions is operable now. BloomSky appears to have shut down. I would have given them 5 stars for their product and app, but now I am charitably offering 2 stars, only because they had a great product at one time. They really now only deserve a 1 or 0 star rating.

### 1/5 — Cool idea but the equipment did not last

*2022-06-14, version 3.3.12*

Hopefully my next purchase will last longer

### 1/5 — Business Closed?

*2022-04-20, version 3.3.12*

Purchased Sky2 and Storm, can’t use them as can’t register products anymore. Support site no response and number listed on website gives error.

### 1/5 — Out of business?

*2022-04-16, version 3.3.12*

Our devices stopped providing much of their data to cloud services. It seems that servers are offline. Looks like the company has shut down without any notification.

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2022-04-15, version 3.3.12*

The company is defunct. The app doesn’t work, the hardware doesn’t work. Customer service number is out of order. Do not buy.

### 1/5 — Is Bloomsky as a company dead?

*2022-03-31, version 3.3.12*

Timelapse stopped work the end of December 2021 on all six of my weather stations. No response from tech support. Anyone else having trouble connecting?

### 1/5 — Re-Adding device no longer works.

*2022-03-15*

No response to email, Reddit or Twitter requests for support. Trying to re-add device that lost power completes process in iOS device, but never updates on dashboard or in app. Whomever decides to keep this community alive with some sort of self-managed server or new software, please blast all social media support groups for BloomSky so people don’t throw away this great hardware!

### 1/5 — BloomSky service degrading / possible change to paid service or going out of business.

*2022-02-16*

Leaving this here for existing BloomSky users. In late January 2022 BloomSky support sent an email message (check your spam!) that they are potentially needing to shut down some of the services and features, and may move to a paid model. This was the first communication from BloomSky in a very long time. And several services (time lapses and weather underground integration among them) have already been disabled. Consensus on the Facebook BloomSky user forum is that BloomSky are preparing to shutdown / may be simply selling existing inventory until it runs out with no further development. There are efforts underway in user forums to try and create an offline software that will replicate many of the BloomSky cloud features in the event BloomSky folds entirely. Suffice to say you shouldn’t buy a new BloomSky at this point……

### 2/5 — Falls very short

*2021-12-12*

The Bloomsky hardware is brilliant. The app falls far short. Daily lots of information is gathered but there’s no way to review, study or compare it. Even simple 24 hour temp hi/low, rainfall and wind speed aren’t easily accessible. Yes, there’s the (poor) dashboard but far too much work to use.
It seems Bloomsky is highly influenced by hardware engineers. That’s the tough part and it’s been done very well. Now, PLEASE get the easier app written up to par.
Please….

### 1/5 — Needs a lot of work and better support

*2020-12-31*

I was one who supported this endeavor when being developed.
Now since it took me two years to install both units, there’s no longer support for the units.
The sky unit seems to be working ok, however the Storm unit fails in most of all.
The unit at times will transmit wind speed. But the rain gauge is a total failure.
I live in Oregon and we get a lot of rain, but this unit does not count the amount of rain it has collected.
Called support and they failed to give very little assistance. I even offered to purchase a replacement.
But due to Covid they refused to do anything.
For what I paid out for this new system I would have expected something that works.

### 4/5 — “We’ve only just begun”

*2020-11-10, version 3.3.10*

Looking forward to future enhancements.

### 1/5 — App crashes

*2020-05-29, version 3.3.8*

The App always crashes when trying to view any time lapse. Un-useable.

### 4/5 — Getting better

*2020-05-07, version 3.3.8*

The last few updates have been great to see some extra information being presented in the UI. Scrolling back to see temp is awesome. Thanks. Just a thought- it would be good to have cumulative rainfall overlaid with it to be able to scroll back see rainfall totals to 9am each day for previous 7 days too.

### 2/5 — PROVE US WRONG!

*2020-04-20*

We have both sky and storm, and this is the 3rd wind vein we have had, we had it replaced, but communication between company and us have fallen flat.... we spent a lot of money on the system, and it doesn’t WORK... WE DINE WHAT WE WAS TOLD TO DO AND THE WIND VEIN STILL DOEST SPIN, WE ARE OVER IT AND ITS BEEN MONTHS NOW...WE wish the company would have a better product or replace things... we like the products, but have lost faith in the company... PROVE US WRONG!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — It’s gone

*2024-05-05, version 3.4.1*

A wasted opportunity not to continue such a brilliant device.

### 1/5 — Company is dead and bankrupt

*2024-02-14, version 3.4.0*

Please remove this app the company is dead and bankrupt and the app no longer opens.

### 1/5 — All but dead…

*2023-10-01, version 3.4.0*

The app doesn’t function anymore. It should be removed from the App Store.

### 1/5 — We’ve been abandoned

*2023-07-20*

Apparently, BloomSky is out of business. Only a few basic functions continue to work, but most do not. There was no warning and users have been unable to get any answers. The hardware is basically worthless.

**Developer response:** Hi EarthSci, This is great feedback, thanks! We're constantly monitoring the reviews here for which features our users would like to see expanded or added. We may not be able to add them instantly, but trust that your comments are being seen and registered. If you have additional thoughts, feel free to email us at 'info@bloomsky.com'. Thanks again!

### 1/5 — MIA

*2023-04-29, version 3.4.0*

Once in a while the camera wakes up.
At least we still get weather data.

### 1/5 — No Longer Supported. Useless…

*2023-03-18*

As others have mentioned, the service no longer shows timelapse videos, no live pictures, and simply useless. I have been using BloomSky for years, and now it’s simply a shell of what was a very promising crowd/cloud based weather system.

### 1/5 — Service is Terrible

*2023-01-29, version 3.4.0*

As a Bloomsky user and owner of a Sky 2, I can say that the one has passed for this company. No more Timelapse video, no video of the day, and right now - nothing. Stay away unless they make major improvements.

### 1/5 — Disappointed in evolution of Bloomsky

*2023-01-04*

Got in on the Kickstarter launch and was happy with this product and service until 2019.

I’d like to switch over to a new product and service. What options are in your future with Bloomsky in the rearview mirror? Seems like the camera/timelapse is a feature that is hard to find.

### 1/5 — Not working

*2022-12-09, version 3.4.0*

The entire BloomSky community is down. Are you suggesting your services are working?

### 1/5 — Adorar to have been bought out by Asian company

*2022-11-12, version 3.4.0*

The original owners of the company have been bought out by an Asian company. Can this app be trusted. There has been no update on company information after buy out.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Problems with the latest update

*2019-11-03*

With the release of the latest iOS update a few months ago I would get dropped to the desktop when trying to view a video. With the latest update I get dropped by merely scrolling half way down the app. I give 5 stars because it has been wonderful hardware as one of the first users and I am hopeful this will soon be fixed-thanks!

### 5/5 — Great device.

*2018-12-02*

I look forward to seeing the video each day. It's a cool device and this is my second one.

### 5/5 — Mr James S Crossley

*2017-12-11, version 3.1.9*

Very happy with both the app and the Weather station. My friend and I are part of the community so we can nosy to see what the weather is like at each other’s.

### 5/5 — Update

*2017-08-30*

The latest update does not allow the temperature, data t be moved down. This happened once before.

### 5/5 — Not sure what the corrections were in the updated version, but..

*2017-06-09, version 3.1.7*

Spelling is better. The IFTTT link in the setup gives a 404 page. That is it goes to a page or link that doesn't exist. The app works well with the Sky1, Sky2 and Storm . I'd like to see some features such as wind chill; heat index along with what is presently there.

### 5/5 — Love our BloomSky in Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada

*2017-04-26, version 3.1.6*

This app, the service and hard wear rock!

### 5/5 — You've Got My Support!

*2017-04-08, version 3.1.6*

There is no other way to put it. A fantastic device. From the app to the device, tremendous job! Thank You to everyone at bloomsky for your vision and passion.

### 5/5 — BloomSky is a star

*2017-02-05, version 3.1.6*

it just works!

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2016-09-27, version 3.0.7*

Love our BloomSky device and the app is very good.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2016-06-05, version 2.2.6*

BloomSky is an amazing device for weather buffs. I had a problem with my first one and James from the support group was fantastic in helping solve the problem. He offered to replace it, which he did. After receiving a new BloomSky I was still having a problem getting it to connect to my wi-fi. Made a phone call and James helped again. I have a Verizon Fios router that handles both 2.4 and 5 MHz. He helped to connect it and now works fine. Highly recommend this device.
