Since hitting the app store Blue Attack! has been a permanent fixture on my iPod.  Clean graphics, infinite variation, and a good set of choices for control methods make it the best shooter on the App store.

I only wish the game allowed multiplayer games and/or shield upgrades for the fighters and carriers.  Even without that the game is amazing.

Based on the quality of my favourite iPod Touch game, Blue Defence, I knew I would be getting Blue Attack as soon as I came out, and I am so glad I did!  Blue Attack is so polished.  From the smooth and well thought out controls, to the crisp and clean graphics, everything just feels right about this game.  The action is non-stop and very intense, not so much that it's frustrating, but it's just right to keep your heart rate up a bit and wanting to play more.  I've played through the campaign hitting up the easy and medium levels, and it was an absolutely blast!  The vast customization available through the upgrades means you can play how you want to, and that you'll want to play again and again to try out different strategies.  The local and global score boards will also keep you coming back, not only to beat your old records, but to try to get into the top 10!  I just placed 7th on the Infinite game mode, but this game is so good that I'm sure I'll be pushed off in no time by the competition.

Summary: A must have game.  Smooth and polished presentation that feels like an instant-classic from the moment you pick it up.  Worth every penny, even if it was twice the cost.

だいたい１年前くらいに画面ショットの自機のクールさにひかれて購入しました。

でもこれが、想像以上におもしろい。
加えて、ゲームバランスも奇跡的なくらいによくできています！！
最初はとにかくＥＮＤＩＮＧ、次はＭＩＤＤＬＥ・ＨＡＲＤコース、最後は高得点を目指すといったぐあい。
高得点の取り方にもいくつかテクニックがあって、これが少しずつわかるとことが、にくいところ。

好みもあると思いますが、他の人もレビューに書いていた、アタリ社のアステロイドの美しさに感動を
覚えた人なら一度プレイしてみる価値ありかと思います。

それにしても、BLUEとREDの戦いこれで終わりなのだろうか・・・、続編を求む。

L'appli est très bonne, mais par contre la traduction française laisse à désirer avec beaucoup de fautes qui donnent une fausse impression de mauvaise qualité. Je veux bien corriger gratuitement si l'auteur me contacte par mail !

My favorite three games just got better!  Thanks, John Kooistra, for the unexpected and most welcome Retina Display updates to the Blue/Red games!  

Seriously great gameplay, slick controls, and so beautiful to look at. I'm buying anything this guy is selling. Easily my favorite game in the app store. 
John, your graphic style add clean gameplay would be ideal for an Every Extend Extra type game. Keep up the good work.

This game is great. Graphics are awesome. I wish there was a save button cause I get frustrated when I have to start all over again.

This game is probably my 3rd favorite game, and definitely my favorite shooter. However, it is very difficult (which I like) and tends to get frustrating when you have to start over every time. Personally, I would like to see a co-op multiplayer mode where you and your buddy each have your own squad. You could compete for resources and it would allow you to take down some of the tougher enemies quicker, and thanks to the customizing options, it would be a great team game. A save feature would be great too.

Would give zero stars if I could. Not one but two horribly implemented control schemes! There's no lite version because no one would shell out $2 after playing it for five minutes.

Einfach nur nervig. die Spielidee ist toll und innovativ. Die steuerung nervig ungenau. Das rückwärtsfliegen hätte ausserdem standartmässig und effizienter eingebaut werden sollen da es ein wichtiges Element der Steuerung ist. So leidet der spielspass unter der schnell nervigen Steuerung.

This game has some great ideas behind it, and the variety of enemies and upgrades is good, but frankly, its "easy" is more like medium-hard.  Both control schemes are quite hard to use, and I really have a hard time believing that anyone could beat the first level in under 72 seconds (my personal best is about 110).  Good try, but this game just doesn't cut it.

I really like this game, the gameplay is fun, it’s not too easy but not too hard, but! I’m still affected by the score submission glitch so until that’s fixed I’ll only be giving 3 stars.

This game you can defend it. Like I attack the red enemies. The red planet is a large circle. Don’t touch the red enemies. You want to be safe. And you will get destroyed by enemies. You can defend it yourself. When you safe and alert.

I got this maybe 10 years ago and had to rebuy it a few days ago because I had the itch. Totally worth it. Sort of a modern day Galaga. Love the colors and nothing is more satisfying than having a fully loaded ship and mowing down cores for 30 minutes or so. Still need to play the other games in the series, but I have just stayed loyal to this one. Well done. Keep making games.

So fun it's one of my most played games in about 2 pages(of games)
I've played this or a while and in infinity, my highest score was 3 million!!

EDIT: wow... I used to play this game all the time about FIVE years ago, and I can’t believe it’s still in the App Store and is supported on the newest iPhone! The review from my 13 year old self is still here ^^^

It's shooting, defense, and rpg-lite, all in a challenging, furious, and beautiful package. Taking down huge clusters and giant entities requires "twitch strategy" as well as competent weapon skills. With slammin' beats and hyper-stylized design, it's a Cat in the Box classic that never seems to age.
